Mumbai to Raipur shifting charges and what moves the quote
The figures below are indicative planning budgets to help compare moving scopes. They are not a published tariff, a market average or a past invoice. Your written quote is built from your own inventory, the transport mode and the access at both ends.
| Move size | Planning range |
|---|---|
| Few items | ₹9,500 to ₹15,500 |
| 1 BHK | ₹16,500 to ₹24,500 |
| 2 BHK | ₹25,500 to ₹36,500 |
| 3 BHK | ₹35,500 to ₹51,500 |
| 4 BHK | ₹50,500 to ₹71,500 |
| Villa or larger home | ₹60,500 to ₹85,500, with larger homes quoted individually |
What the ranges cover
They assume basic packing, loading, transit and unloading. Assembly, crates or technicians, tolls, parking, stairs, long carries, waiting time, storage and handling, redelivery, GST and cover are each either included in a quote or shown as a written extra, so ask which. The next section lists them.
The mode must be named
Ask every quote to say whether it is for shared or part-load space or for a dedicated vehicle. A dedicated vehicle for the same inventory is priced separately from shared space, so two figures are only comparable when they name the same mode.
What pushes a quote up or down
- The volume and weight of the inventory, including bulky pieces such as sofas, wardrobes and refrigerators.
- The mode: shared space, a dedicated vehicle, or a separate vehicle move.
- Floor, lift, parking distance and carry distance at pickup and at delivery.
- How many items need dismantling, reassembly or special crating.
- How flexible your pickup window is.
- Whether the destination is a Raipur city address or a point in the wider district.
Extras to get in writing before you pay a deposit
An estimate is easier to assess when extra tasks and access costs are listed clearly. Before you confirm, ask for each line below to be shown as included or as a priced extra.
| Item | Why it matters | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Furniture assembly | Beds, wardrobes and modular units may need taking apart and refitting. | Is dismantling and reassembly in the figure, and for which items? |
| Crates and technicians | Glass, large televisions and appliances may need extra protection or an installer. | Are crates or technicians required, and who pays for them? |
| Tolls and parking | Long routes and city pickups can add costs outside the base figure. | Are tolls and parking inside the quote or charged on actuals? |
| Stairs and long carry | Walking goods far from the vehicle takes more labour and time. | Is there a charge for floors without a lift or a long carry, and how is it set? |
| Waiting time | Delays at either end can hold a vehicle and crew. | After how long does waiting become chargeable, and at what rate? |
| Storage, handling in and out, redelivery | Holding goods before delivery creates more handling than the move alone. | Is each of these a separate written line? |
| GST | It can change the total you actually pay. | Is GST included in the figure or added on top? |
| Cover | Transit protection is a separate decision from the move price. | Is any cover included, optional or not offered, and in what document? |
Dedicated, part load or few items: choosing the mode
Dedicated vehicle
The vehicle carries your goods only. It suits a full home, bulky furniture, or any move where you want a firm departure and fewer stops. As a preliminary planning figure, expect about 3 to 4 days after dispatch, counted from the day the loaded vehicle leaves, not from the day packing starts.
Shared or part-load space
Your goods share a vehicle with other consignments, which can lower the cost but widens the timing. Preliminary planning is about 4 to 7 days from pickup, because it includes time to consolidate loads. Treat it as a window, not a promise, and ask for the booked window in writing.
Separate car or bike move
Confirm whether your vehicle uses a separate carrier schedule from the household goods. A separate car or bike move is looked at as about 4 to 6 days from pickup. Plan your first days in Raipur without assuming the vehicle and the household goods arrive together.
Choosing between them
- Small inventory and a flexible date: part load is worth pricing.
- Full home, fragile mix or a fixed arrival need: ask for a dedicated quote.
- Always compare the same inventory in both modes before deciding.
Route, distance and timing between Mumbai and Raipur
Road guides put Mumbai to Raipur at about 1,050 to 1,200 km, and the spread comes from where you start and finish and from the route the carrier picks. A consumer map app showed about 1,065 km and 16 hours 23 minutes for a passenger vehicle using the tolled Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg. That is a passenger reference only and not a goods delivery time.
A goods vehicle follows a commercial route chosen for the actual pickup and delivery points, and the carrier must check the applicable route and access conditions for that movement. Ask the carrier how the move will run for your two addresses rather than relying on a general route description.
| Mode | Planning window | Counted from |
|---|---|---|
| Dedicated vehicle | 3 to 4 days | Dispatch of the loaded vehicle |
| Shared or part load | 4 to 7 days | Pickup, including consolidation |
| Separate car or bike | 4 to 6 days | Pickup |
These are planning figures. Weather, traffic, vehicle availability and access at either end can move them, so confirm the booked window for your own move.
Planning the Mumbai end: access and inventory
Pickup goes smoothly when the quote was based on facts about your building and your inventory, not on a guess.
Access details to share
- Floor, lift availability and whether the lift fits large furniture.
- Where a large vehicle can stop and how far the goods must be carried.
- Any timing or booking your housing society asks for on moving days. Check with the society directly, because rules differ.
- Parking or lane constraints near the entrance.
Inventory to list
- Room-by-room items with approximate sizes for large pieces.
- Fragile, high-value or oddly shaped items flagged separately.
- Items you will carry yourself, such as documents, valuables, medicines and chargers.
- Items you are undecided about, so the quote can state what happens if you add them later.
Keep a copy of the list you gave. The same list is the basis for the handover count at delivery.
Planning the Raipur end: city address or wider district
Raipur is the capital of Chhattisgarh, and Raipur district is wider than the city. A destination in the city, for example in Shankar Nagar, Tatibandh or Saddu, is a different delivery from one in the district's plains areas such as Dharsiwa, Arang, Abhanpur or Tilda. The second kind can mean more road distance, different access and more time, so the quote should name the exact destination.
Details to give for the Raipur address
- The full gate address and PIN code.
- The name and phone number of the person who will receive the goods.
- Floor, lift, lane width and gate or society access for a large vehicle.
- The days and hours someone can be present to receive and count the goods.
Do not assume one rule for the city
Access and vehicle limits can differ by area and society. Do not rely on one universal traffic rule for delivery. Ask the carrier what vehicle will arrive, confirm access with the building or society, and agree what happens if the first plan does not work, including who bears any extra handling. If access turns out to be tighter than expected, a smaller vehicle or a second leg may be needed, and that should appear in writing as a priced extra, not as a delivery-day surprise.
Nava Raipur Atal Nagar: give the sector and receiving property
If your address is in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, also called Naya Raipur, name it explicitly rather than only writing Raipur. Give the sector, building or quarter number, PIN and actual goods entrance from the receiving property details. Say whether the goods are for a private flat, a government quarter, an office or a campus residence so the handover point is clear.
Confirm access and receiving hours with the actual owner, estate office or campus contact. If allotment or keys are pending, use the readiness-gap comparison below before dispatch: the goods need an agreed receiving or holding plan, not just a sector on a map.
Bhilai and Durg need their own endpoint
Bhilai and Durg are Durg-district destinations and should be named separately from a Raipur city address. Give the town, PIN, property entrance and receiving contact in the enquiry. For a company township or managed estate, ask its actual property contact what a goods delivery needs, and have any additional carrying or handling written into the quote.
House shifting Mumbai to Raipur: packing, loading and unloading
A full-home move on this route is mostly decided before the vehicle arrives, by how the goods are prepared and how clearly the scope is written.
Packing
- Clothes, books and kitchenware go into cartons labelled by room.
- Furniture is protected against scuffs and movement in the vehicle.
- Mattresses, sofas and soft furnishings are covered to keep them clean on a long road trip.
Fragile items
Glassware, framed items, televisions and small appliances need their own protection. Say which of these you own so the quote can include suitable packing, and ask whether any item needs a crate or a technician.
Assembly
Beds, wardrobes, tables and modular units may need dismantling at pickup and refitting at delivery. Confirm which pieces are covered.
Loading and unloading
The order of loading affects what is easy to reach on arrival. At delivery, goods are brought in and placed where you direct. Ask whether unpacking is part of the scope or a separate task.
Handover count
At pickup, the items loaded are counted against the inventory list. At delivery, count them again with the crew before signing off. Note anything that looks wrong at the time.
Few items and part load Mumbai to Raipur
A few-item move might be a bed and a refrigerator, a single room, a student's belongings or some cartons plus one large piece. For these, shared space is often worth pricing, with an indicative planning range of ₹9,500 to ₹15,500.
What to expect
- The vehicle is shared, so your goods may wait for consolidation before it leaves.
- The planning window is about 4 to 7 days from pickup, wider than a dedicated move.
- A dedicated vehicle for the same few items is priced separately and can cost more.
What to send
A specific list with sizes beats a general description. Include any item that is tall, heavy or unusual, and say whether the pickup address has a lift. Ask for the quote to state the mode, the window and the handling at each end.
Office relocation Mumbai to Raipur
For a small physical office, the indicative planning range is ₹30,500 to ₹52,500. That range assumes about 6 to 8 workstations with chairs, computers, a few cabinets and files, and other physical goods.
What the range does not assume
- IT backup, network setup or reconnection at the new office.
- Stock or machinery, which need a separate assessment.
- Heavy or unusual equipment, specialised crating or technicians.
How to prepare
- Label items by workstation or department so setup at Raipur follows your floor plan.
- Take your own data backups and keep drives with you.
- Confirm building timings, lift access and any loading-bay rules at both addresses.
- Agree the receiver and the date you need access to the new space.
Ask the quote to list what is packed and moved, what is excluded, and who handles furniture dismantling and refitting.
Physical offices at industrial-area addresses
For an office at Urla or Siltara, give the company, unit and gate rather than only the industrial-area name. Ask the site contact for the accepted unloading point and receiving window, and whether any vehicle or crew information must be submitted before arrival. A physical office list should keep desks, computers, files and cabinets separate from stock, machines or production equipment in the same unit; those need their own assessment and are not covered simply because the destination is an office address.
Car and bike transport Mumbai to Raipur
For separately arranged car or bike transport, allow a preliminary 4 to 6 days from pickup. They may not arrive with your household goods.
| Vehicle | Planning range |
|---|---|
| Hatchback | ₹14,500 to ₹20,500 |
| Sedan | ₹17,500 to ₹25,500 |
| SUV | ₹22,500 to ₹32,500 |
| Bike | ₹5,500 to ₹8,500 |
| Heavy bike | ₹8,500 to ₹12,500 |
Before handover
- Ask how the vehicle will be carried and whether that method is covered in the figure.
- Note its condition, existing marks and fuel level on a sheet signed at pickup, and check it again at delivery.
- Remove loose accessories and personal items.
- Ask which documents the carrier wants to see and who will receive the vehicle in Raipur.
Fragile items, assembly and cover
On a long road move, small differences in how an item is protected can matter. Flag each fragile or high-value item, ask how it will be packed and ask whether it needs a crate.
Assembly
If a piece must come apart to fit through a door or a lift, agree who dismantles it, who refits it and whether that work is priced.
Cover
Help with understanding optional cover can be scoped into the move. Confirm any arranged cover through its policy document and the corresponding quoted cost. Before accepting any, check the declared value, what is excluded, how a claim is made and the time limit for raising one. Moving cover is not a substitute for careful packing and a clear handover count.
Why ALPM and how to choose any mover
What ALPM offers
- Direct business contact: you talk to the business that is quoting, not to a lead form that passes you on.
- An itemised inventory and access note as the basis of scope, so a quote reflects your actual move.
- An agreed transport arrangement and window written down before dispatch.
- A handover count of your inventory at delivery.

How to choose any mover
- Compare quotes for the same inventory, the same mode and the same two addresses.
- Ask each to list included services and written extras line by line.
- Prefer a written window to a verbal promise.
- Check that the quote names the exact Raipur destination.
- Be careful with a figure that is far below the others without a clear reason.
How the move runs, step by step
- You share the inventory, both addresses, floors, lift and parking details, and the dates you are considering.
- The scope and quote are written, naming the mode, the window and any extras.
- You confirm the quote and agree any deposit terms in writing.
- Packing and loading are done, with the items counted against the list.
- The goods travel on the agreed arrangement, and you receive updates on timing.
- At Raipur, access and the receiver are confirmed before arrival.
- Goods are unloaded and placed, the count is checked against the list, and any issue is noted at the time.
If your Raipur home is not ready: the readiness-gap decision
A common problem is that the pickup date is fixed but the Raipur keys, society permission or receiver are not ready. There are two sensible ways to handle the gap, and they should be priced on the same inventory and compared on the same terms.
| Option | Works when | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Postpone pickup or hold the goods at origin | You still have possession of the Mumbai-region property and the property permits it. | A new pickup date, availability of vehicle space and any landlord or society limits. Holding at origin is not an assumed right. |
| Pre-arranged storage and later delivery | You need the goods out of the property on the original date. | The storage address, who operates it, access rules, duration, and the extra handling and delivery cost. |
Confirm the proposed storage operator and facility address before booking. Free storage is not assumed; any holding arrangement, duration and costs should be named in writing.
Questions to ask about storage
- What is the exact address, and who is the operator?
- How long can the goods stay, and what are the access rules?
- How will the goods be counted and their condition recorded at entry and at exit?
- Which of these are priced: handling in, space for the storage period, handling out, redelivery and any waiting?
- Is GST included, or added on top?
- Which items are included in the base quote, and which are written extras?
Comparing the options
Do not compare a storage headline rate alone. Compare the full payable total for each option, the date you can actually get the goods, who receives them and when, and what happens if your readiness date slips again.
Storage exit cost worksheet (illustrative)
The table below is a worked example to show how storage adds cost beyond the move itself. The amounts are hypothetical. They are not an actual invoice, a tariff, a past case or a market quote.
| Line | Illustrative amount |
|---|---|
| Existing move quote | ₹30,000 |
| Storage handling in | ₹1,500 |
| Agreed rental for the storage period | ₹2,000 |
| Handling out | ₹1,500 |
| Redelivery to the Raipur address | ₹3,000 |
| Total before any other explicitly listed charges | ₹38,000 |
| Storage-related addition to the move quote | ₹8,000 |
How to use it
- Fill in your own figures from each written quote.
- If handling is already included in the base move quote, do not add it a second time.
- Add any other listed charge, such as waiting time, extra access time or GST if shown separately.
- Compare the final totals with the dates and the delay you would face under each option.
Checklists for booking, pickup and delivery
Before you confirm
- The quote names the mode and the exact Raipur destination.
- Every extra is shown as included or as a written line.
- The planning window, with its count basis, is written down.
- Cancellation and change terms are in writing.
- You have decided what to do if the Raipur address is not ready.
On pickup day
- Someone is present to direct the crew and check the count.
- Valuables, documents and medicines stay with you.
- Appliances and vehicles are noted with their condition.
On delivery day
- The receiver is present and access is confirmed.
- Goods are counted against the list before sign-off.
- Any damage or shortage is noted in writing at the time.
Common mistakes on a Mumbai to Raipur move
- Comparing a shared-space figure with a dedicated-vehicle figure.
- Quoting for a city address and then delivering to a district location.
- Leaving assembly, crates, stairs or waiting time out of the quote.
- Assuming goods and a separately moved car will arrive on the same day.
- Treating a map-app passenger time as a goods delivery time.
- Letting the Raipur keys slip without a plan for the goods.
- Paying a deposit before the scope and the window are written down.
- Not counting the goods at delivery before signing.
Advance booking, cancellation and changes
Booking in advance
Book once your inventory and dates are firm enough to quote. More notice generally gives more choice of dates and, for shared space, more time to consolidate loads.
Cancellation
Ask for the cancellation terms, including any deposit treatment, in writing before you pay. Terms should say what happens if you cancel before packing, on the day, or after loading.
Changes
Inventory, date, address and destination changes can all alter a quote. Examples are adding furniture, moving the pickup, or switching the Raipur address from city to district. Ask for a revised written quote whenever one of them changes, and confirm whether any waiting or extra handling will apply.
