Mumbai to Nagpur shifting charges: planning budgets
Use these indicative budgets to plan your move; they are not fixed prices. Your written quote, based on your inventory and access details, is the figure that counts.
| What you are moving | Planning range | Assumption to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Few items | ₹8,500 – ₹14,500 | A small set of items on a part load, such as a bed, a few boxes and one appliance |
| 1 BHK | ₹15,500 – ₹24,500 | Household guide range; the mode is identified in your quote |
| 2 BHK | ₹20,500 – ₹32,500 | Household guide range; the mode is identified in your quote |
| 3 BHK | ₹25,500 – ₹42,500 | Household guide range; the mode is identified in your quote |
| 4 BHK | ₹38,500 – ₹58,500 | Household guide range; the mode is identified in your quote |
| Larger homes | Individual quote | Priced after an itemised inventory |
| Small office | ₹25,500 – ₹42,500 | 6 to 8 workstations, chairs, computers, a few cabinets and files |
| Hatchback | ₹10,500 – ₹15,500 | Moved separately from household goods |
| Sedan | ₹13,500 – ₹19,500 | Moved separately from household goods |
| SUV | ₹17,500 – ₹25,500 | Moved separately from household goods |
| Bike | ₹5,500 – ₹8,000 | Standard two-wheeler |
| Heavy bike | ₹8,000 – ₹11,500 | Larger or heavier two-wheeler |
The household ranges are a general guide. Your actual quote names the mode, shared or dedicated. A dedicated vehicle for the same inventory is priced separately from the shared-load guide.
The small-office range assumes no IT data backup and no reconnection of systems. Stock or machinery needs a separate assessment.
What the budget covers and what to confirm in writing
The basic scope is packing, loading, transit and unloading, as described in your quote. Everything else should appear either as included or as an extra written next to a price, so that a low headline number does not hide a long list of add-ons.
Ask for each of these to be marked as included or extra:
- Assembly and dismantling of beds, wardrobes and tables
- Crates for glass, televisions or other fragile items
- Technician work, such as uninstalling and installing an air conditioner
- Tolls and parking
- Stairs and long carry from the vehicle to the door
- Waiting time at either end
- Storage if the Nagpur side is not ready
- Redelivery if the first delivery attempt cannot be completed
- GST
- Optional cover, if you want it arranged
If an item is not marked, ask. A quote that is clear on these points is easier to compare and easier to hold to on moving day.
What moves your price up or down
Two moves with the same BHK label can price very differently. These are the details that usually decide it:
| Factor | Why it matters | What to tell us |
|---|---|---|
| Inventory | Bulky items take more space than boxes | Beds, wardrobes, fridge, washing machine, sofa, dining set, TV |
| Mode | Shared and dedicated are priced differently and run to different timelines | Your date flexibility and whether you need a fixed window |
| Packing level | Fragile or high-value items need more material and time | Glassware, artwork, electronics, instruments |
| Access in Mumbai | Floors, lifts and the walk to the vehicle change the labour | Floor number, lift availability, distance from the door to parking |
| Access in Nagpur | Same factors apply on delivery | Exact building or campus, floor, lift, and who will receive |
| Extras | Assembly, crates, storage and technician work add to the base | Which items need these |
Distance, delivery time and the corridor
Both cities are in Maharashtra, so this is a within-state move. The carrier selects the route, and the exact road depends on the vehicle and the day, so confirm the current commercial alignment and any quoted toll costs for your booking.
| Measure | Figure | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Road distance for planning | 780 – 900 km | Varies with exact endpoints and the carrier's route |
| Passenger car, maps check | About 785 km, about 11 h 4 min via the Samruddhi Mahamarg | A passenger driving time under current traffic, not a goods delivery time |
| Dedicated vehicle | 1 – 3 days after dispatch | Packing and loading are done before dispatch |
| Shared load | 3 – 5 days from pickup | Includes consolidation with other consignments |
| Car or bike moved separately | 3 – 5 days from pickup | Confirmed before booking |
The reason the passenger time and the goods time differ is simple. Before the vehicle leaves Mumbai, your home has to be packed and loaded, and on a shared move your goods also have to be consolidated. After it arrives, someone has to be ready to receive and unload. Dispatch day and pickup day are not the same thing, so ask which day your timing is counted from.
Dedicated, shared and separate vehicle moves
Dedicated vehicle
The vehicle carries only your inventory. Packing and loading are completed in Mumbai before dispatch, and the planning timeline is 1 to 3 days after dispatch. This suits full homes, offices and anyone who needs a more predictable window.
Shared load (part load)
Your goods travel with other consignments, so the timeline of 3 to 5 days is counted from pickup and includes consolidation. This suits few items and smaller homes where the date is flexible. Ask how your packages will be counted and kept apart from others.
Car or bike moved separately
The vehicle transport arrangement is confirmed separately from the household scope. Plan 3 to 5 days from pickup, confirmed before booking, and treat the vehicle as a separate booking with its own handover.
Open body or closed body: ask which vehicle is coming
Truck and tempo listings for this route often mention "open body" and "closed body" vehicles. An open-body vehicle has an exposed loading area; any tarpaulin or other cover needs to be agreed. A closed-body or container vehicle has fixed walls and a roof. For sofas, mattresses, electronics and cartons, ask how the body, doors, floor and packing protect the goods from dust and water. A closed body is not temperature-controlled and does not replace suitable packing.
The body type is not always written on a quote, so ask. If an open-body vehicle is proposed, ask how the load will be covered and tied, and whether that changes the price compared with a closed one. Compare quotes only when you know both are for the same kind of vehicle.
Pickup in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai
Pickups across the Mumbai region follow the same logic: the quote is only as good as the inventory and access details behind it. Before the quote, have these ready:
- An itemised list with counts, and approximate size for bulky pieces
- Floor, lift availability and how far the vehicle must park from your door
- Which items need dismantling, and which need crates
- Your preferred pickup date and how flexible it is
It is worth asking your housing society office whether move-out has timing or lift-booking requirements, because a delayed start on loading day affects the whole schedule.
On loading day, ask for the counted inventory to be confirmed with you before the vehicle leaves. That count is what you will check against on delivery.
Delivery in Nagpur, including the MIHAN area
Delivery in Nagpur works best when the exact property is known, not just the locality. Dharampeth, Civil Lines, Manish Nagar, Wardha Road, Besa, Somalwada and Hingna all contain very different buildings, and the access for each one decides whether a large vehicle can reach the door.
What MIHAN can mean for a delivery
An official Nagpur district page, dated 2019, describes MIHAN as a composite of an airport and a special economic zone with housing and allied services, and separately notes residential land outside the SEZ. In practice, a delivery to a business campus gate and a delivery to a home nearby are two different receiving contexts.
Treat that page as general orientation, not as current rules. Do not assume that every home near MIHAN sits inside the SEZ, or that any specific permission applies to you. The reliable approach is to ask the actual building administration or campus security what a goods delivery needs, and to give that answer to us when you request the quote.
Nagpur city or a town around it?
A delivery to Kamptee, Butibori or Kalmeshwar should name that town rather than only saying Nagpur. Wardha is a different city in a separate district, so it also needs its own endpoint assessment. Give the actual town and PIN in your enquiry so the quote is written for that endpoint, and ask the estate office or society what the gate needs.
Campus deliveries in and around MIHAN
If your MIHAN-area destination is a hostel, staff quarter, institutional building or private flat, name that property explicitly rather than using only a campus or employer name. Each one is a different receiving point. Before booking, find out from the institution or the property which gate a goods vehicle should use, at what hours, and who will sign for the goods. Confirm these details with the property and transporter for the actual booking.
House shifting from Mumbai to Nagpur
A household move covers packing, loading, transit and unloading, with furniture handling agreed in the quote. The BHK label is only a starting point. A 2 BHK with a large wardrobe set, a double-door fridge and a washing machine can need more space than a lightly furnished 3 BHK.
To size your move accurately, list:
- Beds, wardrobes and storage units, with dismantling needs
- Large appliances and whether technician work is needed
- Sofas, dining sets and desks
- Fragile and high-value items that need extra packing
- Anything unusually heavy or awkward to carry
Items such as jewellery, cash and important documents are best carried with you rather than loaded.
Few-item shifting and part loads to Nagpur
If you are moving a bed, a few boxes and an appliance, a shared option is worth comparing. The planning budget for few items is ₹8,500 to ₹14,500, moved as a part load with timing counted from pickup at 3 to 5 days.
For a small move, confirm these points in the quote:
- How many items and boxes the price assumes, and what happens if you add more
- How each item will be packed or wrapped
- Whether delivery is to the door, and who handles the carrying
- The expected timing, counted from pickup
Part load suits flexible dates best. If the receiving date is tight, compare a dedicated option and confirm the proposed window.
Office relocation from Mumbai to Nagpur
The planning budget of ₹25,500 to ₹42,500 is for a small office with 6 to 8 workstations, chairs, computers, and a few cabinets and files. It does not include IT data backup or reconnection, and stock or machinery needs a separate assessment.
To make an office move run smoothly:
- Label each workstation and match boxes to a person or desk
- Back up data yourself before computers are packed
- Bag and label cables so setup in Nagpur is quick
- Decide who will check the count at both ends
At the Nagpur end, confirm whether the office is inside a business campus or in a separate building, and ask that administration about receiving hours and the gate or entry arrangements.
Car and bike transport from Mumbai to Nagpur
Planning budgets are ₹10,500 to ₹15,500 for a hatchback, ₹13,500 to ₹19,500 for a sedan, and ₹17,500 to ₹25,500 for an SUV. Bikes are ₹5,500 to ₹8,000, and heavier bikes ₹8,000 to ₹11,500. Plan 3 to 5 days from pickup, confirmed before booking.
A few practical steps protect you:
- Keep the registration papers and keys ready for handover
- Photograph the vehicle at pickup and note any existing marks
- Remove personal belongings from inside the vehicle
- Treat the vehicle as a separate booking, with its own handover and its own timing
Packing, assembly, loading, storage and optional cover
Match every separate package to the load list
The packages in this photo are different heights and shapes. A count based only on cartons would miss part of this load.
For Mumbai to Nagpur shifting, include separately wrapped furniture, rolls and loose pieces on the same inventory as the boxes. If an item has several components, link their package numbers. Check the count when the goods enter the vehicle, not from memory after the doors close.
Share that list with the Nagpur receiver. At unloading, compare the actual packages and their visible condition with the record, and note anything that needs a closer check before signing off.
Packing and crates
Standard packing is part of the basic scope. Glass, televisions and other fragile pieces may need crates, which are an extra shown in writing.
Assembly and technician work
Dismantling and reassembly of furniture is scoped in the quote. Uninstalling and installing appliances such as air conditioners calls for a technician and is separate. Heavy lifting that needs assessment is also scoped individually, and ropes or rigging are not assumed by default.
Loading and unloading
Stairs, long carry and waiting time affect labour at both ends, so they should be listed in the quote if they apply.
Storage
If the Nagpur side is not ready when the vehicle arrives, storage can be arranged as an optional, priced service, and the terms should be agreed before the vehicle leaves Mumbai.
Optional cover
We can help you arrange cover as part of the scope if you want it. It is optional, it is not automatic, and the exact terms depend on the cover you choose. Read what it covers and excludes before relying on it.
Appliance preparation
Use the manufacturer’s transport instructions for refrigerators and washing machines, including draining or model-specific transit bolts where required. Confirm who disconnects and reconnects equipment; carrying an appliance does not automatically include technician work.
Why customers use Agarwal (ALPM)
The approach is deliberately simple. You deal directly with the business that prepares your quote. Your inventory and access details are written into an itemised scope. The vehicle mode and the expected window are agreed up front, and the inventory is counted with you at handover.

How to compare Mumbai to Nagpur movers
A fair comparison needs the same inventory, the same mode, and the same inclusions. When two quotes differ, look at what each one leaves out before you look at the number.
- Send every mover the same itemised list and the same access details for both ends.
- Ask each one to name the mode, shared or dedicated, and the timing, and to say whether it is counted from pickup or from dispatch.
- Compare extras line by line: assembly, crates, technician work, tolls, parking, stairs, waiting, storage and redelivery.
- Check whether the quote includes unloading and placement at the Nagpur end.
- Ask what happens if the Nagpur side is not ready.
A transport-only truck or tempo quote can look much cheaper, but it may not include packing, loading help, or unloading inside the home. Check which of those are included before treating it as a full-move price.
How a move with us runs
- Share your inventory and access details for both ends, by phone or email.
- Receive a written, itemised quote naming the mode, the timing basis, inclusions and extras.
- Confirm the date, the advance terms and who is responsible for each open item.
- Packing and loading take place in Mumbai, and the count is confirmed with you before dispatch.
- The vehicle travels to Nagpur on the agreed window, and you have a contact for updates.
- Unloading takes place at the Nagpur property, and you check the count against the handover inventory and report any open items at once.
Two-end readiness check before dispatch
A short-looking expressway journey can still end in waiting if the home or office is not ready when the load arrives. This worksheet is an illustration of how to prevent that. It is not a record of an actual job and not a feature of any software.
| Checkpoint | Mumbai, before dispatch | Nagpur, before departure |
|---|---|---|
| Inventory | Packed inventory and count complete | Receiver has the same list |
| Vehicle and mode | Mode and expected dispatch confirmed | Expected arrival window shared |
| Location | Pickup address and parking confirmed | Exact residence or business campus gate confirmed |
| Keys and receiver | Keys and handover person available | Keys and a named receiver available |
| Lift and window | Lift or access slot, if needed | Lift or unloading window confirmed |
| Unloading scope | Dismantled items and crates noted | Rooms and placement scope agreed |
Open items
For anything not yet settled, record three things: the open item, the person responsible, and the time by which a decision is needed. Keep this record in a message thread with the business so both sides see the same status.
If Nagpur is not ready
Agree before departure what happens if the Nagpur side is not ready. Ask which options are actually available—waiting, holding, storage or later redelivery—and agree any charges before departure. A planned arrangement is more useful than a promise of arrival within 10 hours.
MIHAN-area deliveries
A business campus gate and a home nearby are separate receiving points. Confirm which one is yours, and ask the actual building administration what it needs, rather than assuming requirements.
Receiving in a Nagpur summer
If hot weather is expected for your Nagpur delivery, add two practical lines to the readiness check:
- Unloading window: ask the society or building whether unloading can happen in the morning or early evening, and agree that window with the mover before dispatch.
- What stays with you: identify medicines and other temperature-sensitive belongings before packing. Keep essential medicines with the person travelling and follow any storage instructions; tell the mover about items that need conditions an ordinary goods vehicle cannot provide.
Make sure the Nagpur receiver has a shaded spot or a cleared room near the entrance, so cartons are not left standing in the sun while the bigger pieces go up.
Common mistakes on this route
- Booking from a headline number without checking what it includes.
- Treating the roughly 11-hour passenger time as the time your goods will take.
- Giving a vague inventory and then being surprised by additions on moving day.
- Forgetting to mention floors, lifts or a long walk from the vehicle to the door.
- Not naming a receiver in Nagpur, or giving only a locality instead of the exact property.
- Loading valuables, jewellery or important documents instead of carrying them yourself.
- Skipping the handover count at either end.
- Paying an advance without written terms for what it secures.
- Expecting a car or bike to arrive with the household goods when it is a separate booking.
Advance, cancellation and date changes
Dates move for housing, leave and school reasons, so settle the terms before you pay. Ask for these in the written quote:
- The advance amount and what it secures
- What applies if you change the date before packing day, and what applies after a vehicle has been arranged
- Any charge for cancelling at each stage
- What happens, and what it costs, if the Nagpur side is not ready on arrival
Flexible dates give more planning room, and shared loads fit flexible dates best. If your date is fixed, say so early so the mode and the window can be planned around it.
