Mumbai to Aurangabad shifting charges
Use these indicative ranges for an ordinary household inventory with basic packing, loading, transport and unloading. Confirm the final scope and price from your actual item list. Your written quote depends on the inventory, the transport arrangement, the material used and the access at both addresses.
| Move size | Indicative range | Typical inventory it assumes |
|---|---|---|
| Few items | ₹5,500 – ₹10,500 | Suitcases, cartons, a mattress or one small piece of furniture |
| 1BHK | ₹12,500 – ₹20,500 | Bedroom furniture, a refrigerator, a washing machine, a TV and kitchen and clothes cartons |
| 2BHK | ₹16,500 – ₹32,500 | Two bedrooms, a living-room set, standard appliances and a full kitchen |
| 3BHK | ₹26,500 – ₹48,500 | Three bedrooms, larger furniture and a heavier appliance and carton load |
| 4BHK | ₹35,500 – ₹60,500 | A large inventory with several bulky pieces and a high carton count |
What a quote is made of
Compare packing and loading, the road transport, and destination handling as three separate components. This makes it easier to see whether two offers include the same work.
| Part | What it covers | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Packing and loading | Packing materials, packing labour and loading at the Mumbai address | Which rooms and items, and which materials |
| Line-haul | Transport from the Mumbai pickup to the Aurangabad address, as a dedicated or shared arrangement | The arrangement, and whether tolls are included |
| Unloading and handling | Unloading, carrying, placing and any reassembly at the destination | Floors, lift or stairs, and any second drop |
Lines to mark as included or extra
| Line | Ask the quote to say |
|---|---|
| Furniture dismantling and reassembly | Which pieces, and who does the work at each end |
| Appliance technician work | Who books the technician for air conditioner, geyser or chimney uninstall and install |
| Tolls and parking | Included or extra for each, and the amount if extra |
| Stairs and long carry | Floor, lift availability and any charge at either address |
| Shuttle or an extra drop | Whether one is expected and what it costs |
| Waiting, storage and redelivery | Whether any are in scope, and how each is charged |
| GST | Included or extra, as applicable, and how the invoice is issued |
| Optional insurance | Offered or not, the declared value and the terms |
Pickup in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai
Send the actual loading building whether it is in Andheri, Borivali, Malad, Goregaon, Kandivali, Powai, Ghatkopar, Mulund, Chembur, Bandra or Dadar. For Thane, Kalyan, Dombivli, Bhiwandi, Mira Road or Vasai–Virar, include the full address and PIN. The approach, access and first leg need assessment for that point.
For Navi Mumbai, give the node, sector and goods entrance for Vashi, Nerul, Kharghar, Belapur, Airoli, Ghansoli or Panvel. Do not assume that a broad Mumbai-region quote already covers a different pickup or an additional stop.
Settle permissions before loading
- Ask your own society or building office whether it needs move-out intimation, an NOC or a gate pass.
- Confirm the lift you may use, its size and the allowed packing-and-loading window.
- Photograph the lawful vehicle stopping point and the path from the home, including stairs and turns for bulky pieces.
- Identify landlord-owned fittings that stay, and coordinate the rental inspection and key return with completed loading.
For a narrow approach, agree any smaller pickup vehicle or extra carry in the estimate. Confirm the applicable road access for the allocated vehicle and date. A pickup near an expressway connection does not, by itself, guarantee faster dispatch or same-evening unloading.
Route, distance and planning times
The road distance from the Mumbai region to Aurangabad is about 340 to 400 km. The exact figure depends on where in the Mumbai region you load and where in the city you unload. A passenger navigation time for a car is not a delivery time for a loaded truck, so it should not be used to plan your move.
Route options
From the Mumbai region there are different ways to reach Aurangabad. One is the traditional highway through the Nashik side, and another is the Samruddhi expressway, which is formally the Nagpur-Mumbai Expressway. They are different options with different access points, and the mover chooses the actual route for the vehicle class and the day. Confirm the planned approach and any changes with the booking team before dispatch. Tolls on the route used should be marked as included or extra in the quote.
Planning estimates
| Stage | Dedicated | Shared | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Packing and loading in Mumbai | Date and slot agreed with you | The same | Packing time and the dispatch window are separate |
| Dispatch | Agreed after loading | When the shared load is ready | Ask for the dispatch date in writing |
| Road journey and delivery | About 1–2 days from pickup through delivery | About 2–4 days including consolidation | Estimated window; confirm for your dates |
| Arrival and unloading | Within a window agreed with the receiver | Follows the load | Subject to the building's allowed time |
Consolidation means the time it takes to bring a shared load together before it departs. If you need your goods on a certain date, say so when you ask for the quote, so that the arrangement can be chosen to fit.
A short road journey is not a same-evening delivery
A road journey of well under a day does not mean the whole move is done within a day. Packing a full kitchen, dismantling furniture and carrying goods to the vehicle can take several hours, a building's allowed unloading time can shorten the usable window, and a locked flat or an absent receiver stops unloading however close the vehicle is.
Consider this hypothetical building schedule: Suppose the Aurangabad building allows unloading only until 6 pm. If loading in Mumbai runs late, the vehicle may reach Aurangabad after that time, and the plan has to change.
| Situation | Choices | Agree before leaving Mumbai |
|---|---|---|
| Loading finishes later than planned | Keep to the same-day plan only if both ends are still open, otherwise unload at the next agreed slot | Who decides, and by what time of day |
| The building's unloading time has closed | The vehicle waits, goods go to storage, or unloading moves to the next slot | Which option applies, who pays for waiting or storage, and the next slot |
| Keys or the receiver are not ready | Wait briefly or reschedule the delivery | The receiver, a backup and the keyholder, by name |
| Goods have to be unloaded again later | Extra handling and a second visit | The charge, and how the count is recorded again |
Treat a same-evening unloading as an explicit agreement, written down with the building's slot and the receiver's name, and not as a default. Waiting, storage and rehandling are separate lines in the quote. Ask for this plan before the vehicle leaves Mumbai, when it is easy to change.
Addresses in Aurangabad and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
Aurangabad and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar are the same city. Use the name that appears on your address, and add the PIN. A broad road or an area name does not tell a mover where a vehicle can stop, so the table lists what to send for different kinds of address. The exact approach and unloading arrangements are assessed from these details.
| Address type | What to send | What it does not tell the mover |
|---|---|---|
| CIDCO | Sector or N-number, building name, flat number, gate and PIN | Which gate and approach road the vehicle can use, and the floor and lift |
| Garkheda, Ulkanagari and the Beed Bypass side | Society or building name, gate and PIN. Jalna Road and Beed Bypass are broad roads, not unloading points | The exact entrance and the distance from the stopping point |
| Waluj, Shendra, Chikalthana and Paithan industrial areas | Company name, unit or plot number, the gate to use, and a receiver with permission to enter | They are separate endpoints, not interchangeable, and not all near one another |
| Old city and Gulmandi side | Street or lane, house number, PIN, a photo of the approach and the entrance dimensions | Whether a vehicle reaches the entrance, or whether a carry from an agreed point is needed |
Do not assume a smaller vehicle is needed in the old city, or that it is not. Check the approach with your receiver, and with the building management where there is one, at booking. Confirm any date-specific entry conditions before fixing the arrival slot.
Use the city name with a complete receiving address
Whether the address says Aurangabad or Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, keep the building name, house or flat number and PIN together. For a home in Garkheda or Jawahar Colony, include the entrance, floor and receiver rather than using a nearby hospital or main-road landmark as the unloading point.
For a CIDCO address, send the sector or N-number and the actual building and gate. For Waluj, Shendra or Chikalthana, distinguish a residential address from an employer's unit or plot. The home receiver and the company's authorised receiver need their own details if the move includes both stops. Do not use one workplace gate as the default address for all the family goods.
Home goods and office goods in one move: planning two drops
Give home and office boxes different destination marks
These cartons may look similar, but their outer labels can tell the receiving team where each one belongs. That becomes especially useful when one vehicle carries goods for two delivery stops.
For a Mumbai to Aurangabad move containing both home and office items, agree a short destination code for each address. Put it beside every box number and keep separate counts. Use one consistent name for the receiving address in the written record, even if people use Aurangabad and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar interchangeably.
Send each receiver their allocation before dispatch. Confirm access, keys and unloading help separately for the two stops.
If you are relocating for a new job, distinguish your personal move from any employer-owned goods travelling with it. A family moving for a role at a Waluj, Shendra or Chikalthana unit may need goods delivered to two places: a flat and the workplace. A residential move for a worker joining an industrial unit is not the factory moving. Home goods belong to the household, and company assets belong to the employer and move under the employer's authority, so they are listed, labelled and received separately.
Choosing the shape of the quote
| Option | What the quote covers | Receiver and floors | Route and waiting assumptions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Home only | One drop at the flat | One receiver, with the floor and lift of the flat | One building slot |
| Office goods only | One drop at the office or unit | One authorised receiver, with the unit or plot and the gate | The unit's working hours and gate rules |
| Two drops on one vehicle | Two drops, each with its own list and receipt | A receiver at each address | The order of the drops, the travel between them and waiting at each |
The cost of a second drop depends on the real extra address and its access, so it is assessed from the details, not from a flat fee. Machinery rigging, chemicals and industrial equipment are not included automatically, and a factory move needs a separate assessment.
A hypothetical plan
This is a planning illustration, not a completed job. Suppose 24 cartons for the home are labelled H01 to H24 and 8 cartons for the office are labelled O01 to O08. The furniture and equipment are named on separate lists, each tagged to its drop.
| Batch | Labels | Count | Delivered to | Receipt |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Home batch | H01–H24 | 24 | The flat | Receipt 1, signed by the household receiver |
| Office batch | O01–O08 | 8 | The office unit | Receipt 2, signed by the authorised receiver |
| Total on the vehicle | H01–H24 and O01–O08 | 32 (24 + 8) | Two addresses | Two receipts |
At each address, only the batch assigned to it is unloaded, and the receiver counts that batch against its list. Any carton or piece that does not belong to that drop stays on the vehicle. The quote carries a separate line for the second drop, and the order of the drops and any waiting are agreed in advance.
House shifting from Mumbai to Aurangabad: services and preparation
A household move covers packing, loading, transport and unloading as scoped. These are the points where the scope most often needs to be written down.
Packing and loading in Mumbai
Loading takes place within your building's allowed time, from a spot where the vehicle can legally stand. Tell the mover which lift you may use and how far the carry is. Packing time and the dispatch window are separate, so ask for both. We work from your inventory and the access at both addresses, and cartons are numbered so the count can be checked at delivery.
Furniture
Name the pieces that need dismantling, such as beds, wardrobes and dining tables, and who reassembles them in Aurangabad. Units fixed to walls often need a carpenter. Empty wardrobes and drawers before loading, since heavy contents strain the joints in transit. If you rent, keep the landlord's furniture and fittings off the inventory.
Appliances
Prepare each appliance as its manual describes. Empty and defrost the refrigerator ahead of time and keep it upright. Drain and dry the washing machine. If your model uses transit bolts, they are fitted before transport, removed before the machine is used, and stored after removal, since you will need them for the next move. Air conditioners, geysers and chimneys normally need a technician to uninstall and reinstall them, so confirm who books the technician at each end.
Unloading in Aurangabad
Goods are unloaded as agreed and counted against the inventory with your receiver. Placement in rooms and reassembly follow the scope you agreed in writing, and any difference or damage is noted on the receipt before you sign.
Packing materials by item, and full or selected packing
Match the packing to the item, and ask the quote to say which materials are used for which items. The table describes common approaches without a fixed number of layers.
| Item | Common approach | What to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Crockery and glassware | Wrapped one by one and packed in small strong cartons with the gaps filled | How many cartons are marked fragile |
| Televisions and monitors | The original box if available, otherwise padded wrapping with corner protection, carried upright | Whether a box is provided or you keep the original |
| Mattresses and sofas | Covered with plastic or stretch film and padding | How they are covered during loading and unloading |
| Wooden furniture | Blankets or foam on surfaces, with corner guards and secured doors and drawers | Which pieces are dismantled |
| Refrigerator and washing machine | Doors and drums secured as the manual describes, and carried upright | Who handles the technician work and the transit bolts |
| Books and documents | Small cartons so each box stays at a handleable weight | Which documents travel with you |
A cover helps against dust and light splashes, but it does not make goods rainproof. In the monsoon, ask how goods are covered during loading and unloading and what the plan is if rain delays the work.
Full or selected packing
With full packing, the mover packs every room, which suits a short notice period and a large inventory. With selected packing, the mover packs fragile and bulky items and you pack soft goods such as clothes and linen. Ask the quote to say which items are yours, and how cartons you packed yourself are treated, since their contents cannot be checked.
Part loads, students and employees joining a job
If you are moving a few cartons, a mattress or a small piece of furniture, a part load keeps the cost in the lower band, which is about ₹5,500 to ₹10,500 on this route. What fits depends on the actual inventory, so send a list with approximate sizes.
The trade-off with dates
A shared load usually costs less than a dedicated vehicle when your dates are flexible. The price follows the space your goods take, and the departure depends on when the shared load is ready, so planning time is about 2 to 4 days including consolidation. If you need your goods on a particular day, a dedicated arrangement gives you a dispatch date you can plan around. Ask for both in writing if you are unsure.
Students and employees
A student can name a hostel or PG gate and a person to receive the goods. An employee joining a role should work backwards from the start date, and leave a day or two of room for loading, building slots and the receiving window. Label each carton with your name, phone number and a number, and carry your laptop, ID documents and medicines with you.
| Decision | Shared load | Dedicated vehicle |
|---|---|---|
| Price basis | The space occupied by your consignment | The vehicle arranged for your inventory |
| When it suits | Compact loads with flexible receiving dates | A full home or a move requiring a more closely agreed dispatch schedule |
| Planning window | About 2–4 days, including consolidation | About 1–2 days from pickup through delivery |
Tempo or truck capacity follows the packed list
A Tata Ace, small pickup or a 14 ft or larger truck describes a vehicle option to assess, not a guaranteed size for a particular BHK. Send the carton count, packed furniture dimensions, approximate weight and any dismantled panels. Compare usable capacity and the number of trips as well as the advertised length.
A whole home can use shared space when the accepted load, capacity and dates fit. When comparing a transport-only figure with a packing-and-moving package, add the loading, unloading, protection and agreed assembly you need. Remove unwanted belongings before the survey and disclose self-packed cartons so the quote reflects the same list.
Moving physical office goods to Aurangabad
Office shifting is planned from a list of desks, chairs, cabinets, files and equipment, with responsibility for releasing and receiving each asset. As a budget guide, a small office on this route is about ₹20,500 to ₹35,500. That figure assumes roughly 6 to 8 desks and chairs, computers moved as physical items, and a few cabinets and cartons of files. Factory machinery is not part of that guide and needs a separate assessment.
Asset labels and the receiver
Label each item or carton with the department and the destination position, keep an asset register, and count against it at the new office. Name one authorised receiver at each address who can sign the inventory, with a backup.
IT scope
Your IT team or vendor handles disconnection, data backup, network setup and reconfiguration. Packing and carrying the hardware should be coordinated with that IT schedule so essential work can continue during the move.
Gates and building rules
For a unit in Waluj, Shendra or Chikalthana, give the company name, the unit or plot number, the gate and the person who permits entry. For an office in a building, confirm the goods lift, loading area and working hours with the building manager at both ends.
Employer-paid relocation and company goods
If your employer reimburses a home move, ask accounts or administration for its billing name, approval and document requirements before booking. Keep the estimate, household inventory, consignment note or lorry receipt, invoice and payment receipt together. Employer reimbursement does not turn your personal belongings into company assets.
If employer-owned equipment is also travelling, obtain the company's release and give it its own inventory, destination and receiver under the two-drop plan above. Confirm any business-goods shipment documents with the operator and your accountant. A single home-moving bill should not hide an extra workplace drop.
Car and bike transport from Mumbai to Aurangabad
Allow for the following indicative vehicle transport ranges when planning your move. The model, the carrier, the handling and the endpoints affect the price.
| Vehicle | Indicative range |
|---|---|
| Hatchback | ₹6,500 – ₹11,500 |
| Sedan | ₹8,500 – ₹14,500 |
| SUV | ₹10,500 – ₹17,500 |
| Bike | ₹3,000 – ₹5,500 |
Timing and handover points
As a planning window, a vehicle carrier takes about 1 to 3 days after pickup, but confirm the carrier, since this is not a passenger travel time. A closed carrier and delivery to the front door should not be assumed. A carrier may load and deliver at agreed points, depending on its size and the address. Ask where the vehicle is handed over in the Mumbai region, where it is delivered in Aurangabad, and what the carrier type is.
Condition record
- Photograph or record all sides of the vehicle, the odometer and any existing marks.
- Note the existing condition on the handover form and keep a copy.
- Remove personal items and loose accessories, and follow the carrier's instructions on fuel, battery and keys.
- At delivery, check the vehicle against the form and your photos before you sign.
Keep the registration certificate, your ID and an insurance copy ready.
Storage, insurance assistance and records
Storage and insurance assistance are available subject to the agreed scope. Ask for the selected storage or cover arrangements to appear separately in the quotation.
Storage if keys or dates slip
Storage helps when your Aurangabad flat is not ready, when the building's unloading time has closed, or when keys are delayed. Intake, rent for the period and redelivery are not free by default, so ask for them as separate lines. Confirm the storage location in the quote, the inventory at intake and who signs it, and how the goods will be delivered later.
Insurance assistance
We can help with insurance as per the agreed scope. Any cover is issued under the insurer's terms and depends on the policy, the declared value and the exclusions. Read the cover, exclusions and notice requirements against your inventory before selecting it.
Records that help in a claim
- The signed inventory with carton numbers, and the furniture list.
- Photographs of high-value items and the packing before loading.
- The receipts for each drop, if there were two.
- Photographs of any damage and a note on the delivery receipt before you sign.
- Prompt written notice to the mover and, if cover applies, to the insurer. The time limit depends on the policy, so check it.
Preparing for the move: your steps and documents
Use this sequence to line up your Mumbai move-out with the receiving arrangements in Aurangabad.
- Send your enquiry with both addresses, floors, lift details, your dates, a room-wise inventory, and whether you have one drop or two.
- Read the quote for the three parts: packing and loading, line-haul, and unloading. Check that each line is included or extra.
- Confirm the building's allowed time at both ends, name your receivers and a backup, and book any appliance technician.
- Prepare the appliances as their manuals describe, and keep documents, jewellery, laptops and medicines in a bag that stays with you.
- On loading day, be present or leave a named person, and check the inventory and the carton numbers as items are loaded.
- On delivery, have the receiver and the keys ready, count the batch against its list, and note exceptions before you sign.
Documents to keep
Keep the addresses, the signed inventory, the written quote, and the invoice or mover receipt for the transport. Keep any building permission you need at either end. For a car or bike, keep the registration certificate, your ID and an insurance copy.
Common mistakes
- Assuming a same-evening delivery because the journey is short.
- Giving a broad road, such as Jalna Road, as the delivery address.
- Mixing home and office cartons in one count.
- Leaving no backup receiver.
- Signing a clean receipt before the count.
Your joining date and first evening
Check what a new PG, furnished rental or allotted home already provides before sending a bed or appliance. Keep your reporting-office address separate from the room that can receive furniture. Carry original papers, medicines, devices, chargers and basic clothing with you while the goods follow their own window.
Use the 1–2 day dedicated pickup-to-delivery guide or the 2–4 day shared guide including consolidation when planning. Reconfirm the keys and unloading slot if the arrival estimate changes. Check weather nearer the dates and arrange dry staging if rain affects either home; the short road distance does not settle the receiving appointment.
Choosing a mover for Mumbai to Aurangabad, and what ALPM offers
Compare the delivery plan before the headline price
Ask each mover to quote the same item list, addresses and number of drops. For this route, a useful answer covers the loading slot, expected dispatch, destination access and the fallback if unloading cannot happen that evening. Check the written scope for assembly, technician work, extra carrying and waiting. Ask about date changes before paying a booking amount, and retain the receipt.
How ALPM plans your enquiry
Agarwal Logistics Packers and Movers, also known as Agarwal (ALPM), works from your inventory and access details. We agree the vehicle arrangement and delivery window, document the itemised scope, and use the inventory for the handover check. If the move has a home drop and an office drop, identify both when you enquire so the route and handling can be assessed together.
