Mumbai to Kolhapur shifting charges
Use these indicative household ranges to set a budget before the actual inventory is assessed. The basic work is ordinary packing, loading, transport and unloading as scoped. Ask which pickup address and transport arrangement the amount covers; an exclusive vehicle needs a price based on the same list of goods.
| Move | Planning range |
|---|---|
| A few items | ₹5,000 – ₹10,000 |
| 1BHK | ₹11,500 – ₹18,500 |
| 2BHK | ₹18,500 – ₹28,500 |
| 3BHK | ₹25,500 – ₹35,500 |
| 4BHK | ₹38,500 – ₹45,500 |
| Larger homes | Quoted individually |
Because the road leg is shorter than on most intercity routes, the packing and the carrying at each end count for more of the price. The access details you give move the figure as much as the distance does.
Lines that should be named in the quote
- An extra pickup or a detour, with its charge and any waiting fee.
- Furniture assembly, appliance technician work, and crates for particular pieces.
- Tolls and parking, if the quote shows them as extra.
- Stairs or a long carry at either end.
- Storage and redelivery, each as its own line.
- GST as applicable, shown on the invoice, and optional cover with a declared value.
Distance and delivery: allow for packing and both stops
Plan on a road distance of about 380 to 450 km, depending on both addresses. A public navigation tool shows 382 km and about 6 hours 57 minutes for a passenger car via the Mumbai–Satara highway and NH48. That is a driving figure for a car, and it does not describe a loaded vehicle's day.
A possible corridor runs from Mumbai through Pune, Satara and Karad to Kolhapur on NH48. The carrier confirms the commercial alignment, using a route suitable for the allocated commercial vehicle.
Four things that are easy to run together
- Packing and loading: done first, and its length depends on your inventory, not on the distance.
- A dedicated vehicle's road time: about 1 to 2 days after dispatch.
- A shared load: about 2 to 4 days from pickup, which includes the time to bring the shared load together.
- A car or bike carrier: about 2 to 4 days after pickup, on its own dates.
Coordinate the Kolhapur receiving slot with the expected arrival and building access. A daytime arrival depends on the actual windows, and a seven-hour drive does not promise one. These are preliminary planning estimates, not records of past trips, and the transport assigned to your move confirms the window before you book.
Fitting the move into leave or a long weekend
Put both packing appointments on the calendar before the road leg. Two pickups may need different building slots, and the Kolhapur unloading appointment must fit the expected arrival. Ask who can supervise the last collection and who will already have keys at the destination, rather than assuming the whole move fits the passenger driving time.
If severe weather or a road advisory affects the proposed journey, ask the carrier about the current alignment before dispatch and update both pickup contacts and the receiver. Agree any change in waiting or holding costs through the booking contact and use the conditions reported near your moving date.
Shared load, dedicated vehicle, or a few items
A shared load rides with other consignments, and the price follows the space your goods take up. It suits a few cartons, a student room or a tenant's small set of furniture when your date can flex, and its days run from pickup. A dedicated vehicle is arranged for your goods alone, is priced separately on the same inventory, and suits a full home or closer control of dispatch, with its days running from dispatch.
Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai are separate pickup areas, and a quote for one is not a quote for another. Say which you are leaving from, and say so again if goods will come from more than one. If you are sending goods to Kolhapur from Navi Mumbai, the quote should name Navi Mumbai as the pickup.
A tempo fare and a full moving quote cover different work
For a few cartons, vehicle hire may be worth comparing with a shared moving consignment. For a home with beds, appliances and kitchen packing, add the handling at both buildings before deciding which total is better.
| Task | Vehicle-only enquiry | Packing and moving enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Packing | Ask whether material and packing labour are included | Name the rooms and items the crew packs, and your own sealed cartons |
| Loading and unloading | Check labour at both addresses rather than assuming driver assistance | Name the floors, carry and final room placement in the scope |
| Furniture work | Arrange any assessed dismantling and assembly separately if excluded | List the pieces and who reassembles them |
| Two collections | Check whether the booking allows the second stop, waiting and detour | Price both pickup addresses and reconcile their separate counts |
| Protection and records | Ask about suitable loading protection, conditions and responsibility | Keep the agreed protection, inventory and handover process with the quote |
A headline fare can leave labour, materials or waiting outside the number. Compare the full cost of the same work and the same stops, not just the road transport figure. Any bike or specialist piece still needs a suitable, separately assessed transport arrangement.
Your Kolhapur property, and the endpoint it names
The district's official page describes a city on the banks of the Panchganga, in the Sahyadri region. For a move, the useful point is that a property in Kolhapur city is not the same endpoint as one in another town or village of the district. Name the exact place, and a separate quote will be written if it is elsewhere. A second delivery in another town, such as Sangli or Ichalkaranji, is not part of this quote and would be priced separately.
| Detail | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Locality, road and PIN | It names the endpoint, and the carrier can plan the approach |
| Plot, building and floor | It sets the carry from the vehicle to the door |
| Entrance, lift or stairs | It affects how large pieces go in |
| Where the vehicle can stand | It decides whether the carry is long or short |
| A gate pin, sent privately | It saves a delay at the gate |
| A receiver's name and phone number | Someone has to count and sign on arrival |
For Rajarampuri, Shahupuri, Tarabai Park, Kasaba Bawada, Kadamwadi or Kalamba, add the actual lane, property and entrance. The area name alone does not describe the carrying route or building arrangements.
Collecting from two addresses: a two-pickup, one-delivery worksheet
Not everyone's goods are in one place. Some belongings may be at a family home in Thane while the flat you are leaving is in Navi Mumbai, and you want it all delivered to one address in Kolhapur. Do not assume that two addresses fit inside one base quote. An extra stop is a separate question for the cost and for the schedule, and its availability is confirmed before you book.
| Record | Pickup A | Pickup B |
|---|---|---|
| Address, floor and access | Full address, floor, lift or stairs | Full address, floor, lift or stairs |
| Who packs | You or the crew | You or the crew |
| Contact and allowed time slot | Name, phone and slot | Name, phone and slot |
| Package IDs | A01, A02 and so on | B01, B02 and so on |
| Signed outward count | Count at pickup A | Count at pickup B |
| Extra-stop charge and any detour waiting fee | Agreed in writing | Agreed in writing |
Keeping the two sets apart
Give each pickup its own prefix, and sign an outward count at each one. Packing time and loading time at each stop are separate questions, so ask how long each is expected to take. At delivery, one combined list names every package, so the two sets do not mix and nothing is counted twice.
A hypothetical count
This is an illustration, not a completed job or an invoice. Suppose 7 packages are collected from pickup A and 4 from pickup B.
| Pickup | Package IDs | Packages |
|---|---|---|
| A | A01 – A07 | 7 |
| B | B01 – B04 | 4 |
| Combined list at delivery | A01 – A07 and B01 – B04 | 11 |
In this carton-only example, seven plus four gives eleven cartons. If furniture is added, list and count those pieces and any separately packed parts as additional inventory.
Confirm the combined scope
Before booking, have the carrier confirm space for the complete list, both pickup addresses and the extra-stop cost. Ask how any insurance arrangement covers the named origins and stages before the journey begins.
If two homes are being combined, choose the final inventory first
You may not need two fridges, two dining sets or every duplicate kitchen item at the Kolhapur home. Decide which pieces you actually want before finalising each pickup list. Mark an item sold, retained or removed against its own origin, then send both updated lists for the revised quote and loading assessment.
Removing a piece does not guarantee a proportional price reduction because the vehicle or minimum charge may stay the same. Ask for the revised total before accepting the change, and send the final version to both pickup contacts and the Kolhapur receiver.
One collection day or two?
Give the mover the allowed slots at both buildings and the packing work at each stop. Ask the team to plan a safe loading order around the bulky pieces, access and driving time between the addresses; the nearest stop is not the only consideration. Have someone ready with the correct A-series or B-series list at each place.
If the schedule needs two days, agree where the first collection will wait, who retains responsibility, whether it is unloaded again and what handling or overnight cost applies. Retain the signed outward count and record any later transfer against the same package IDs. An extra day or holding arrangement should be agreed before the first pickup.
Room by room: how the crew handles a home
| Area | How it is handled |
|---|---|
| Kitchen | Crockery and glassware are wrapped one piece at a time and packed in small cartons, and loose items go in labelled cartons |
| Bedrooms | Beds and wardrobes are taken apart where agreed, with fittings bagged and taped to the piece, and mattresses are covered |
| Living room | Sofas and chairs are covered and padded at the corners, and screens travel upright in padded wrap or their original boxes, with cables bagged and labelled |
| Study and books | Books and files go in small, firm cartons so none gets too heavy |
| Appliances | Prepared as each manual says. Use any required model-specific transport restraints and remove them as instructed before use |
Loading follows the inventory, so heavy pieces sit low and fragile cartons are not stacked under weight. If it rains, ask how loading and unloading will be covered, and have the arrangement and its cost in the written quote. Packing materials cushion goods, and a temporary cover helps against splash, but neither makes a carton waterproof.
At Kolhapur, your receiver names each room, and the crew unloads and places goods within the scope you agreed. Arrange any appliance technician around confirmed delivery and the model instructions. Count against the inventory, look over the larger pieces, and note any exception on the receipt before you sign. Keep documents, jewellery, cash and daily medicines with you.
Office goods: make the Kolhapur handover easy to check
Allow an indicative ₹20,500–₹35,500 for a small office with approximately 6–8 workstations and chairs, computers, a few cabinets and file cartons. The actual asset list, packing and building access determine the quote. IT setup, trade stock and heavy machinery require separate assessment.
Label for the receiving layout
Give furniture and equipment a desk or department reference, with file cartons labelled to match. Share a layout and the asset list with the Kolhapur representative before unloading. If goods are collected from two offices, retain their separate outward counts and reconcile them on the combined list.
Coordinate building and technical work
Confirm goods-lift availability, the loading point and the moving period with each building. Your IT team handles backup, disconnection and network setup; the moving scope covers physical items. Identify who signs the inventory at each collection point and the final office.
An office inside an industrial estate or company campus
Put the actual estate, company building and unloading point on the enquiry. Ask the authorised security or facility contact what entry process applies to the booked crew and vehicle, which gate to use and when goods can be received. Office desks and computers remain different from production machinery or trade stock, which need their own assessment even when they share the same address.
Car and bike transport
The carrier, the model, the packing and the handover points all affect these figures.
| Vehicle | Planning range |
|---|---|
| Hatchback | ₹10,500 – ₹14,500 |
| Sedan | ₹12,500 – ₹17,500 |
| SUV | ₹14,500 – ₹20,500 |
| Bike | ₹5,000 – ₹6,000 |
| Heavy bike | ₹6,500 – ₹8,500 |
Allow a preliminary carrier window of about 2 to 4 days after pickup, on its own dates, separate from your household goods. A vehicle on a carrier does not travel inside your household load unless your quote says so. Ask what type of carrier is used, and where in Kolhapur the vehicle is handed over, since that point may not be your gate.
- Photograph all sides of the vehicle, the odometer reading and any existing marks, and keep a signed copy of the condition form.
- Note the fuel level and the keys handed over, and follow the carrier's instructions.
- Remove personal items and loose accessories.
- At delivery, compare the vehicle with the form and your photos before you sign.
Keep the registration certificate, your ID and a copy of the insurance ready.
Storage between dates and insurance arrangements
If the two pickups cannot fit the receiving date, discuss adjusting the schedule before adding storage. Where storage is needed, agree availability and location, the inventory recorded at intake, the rent period and the person authorised to release the goods. Handling and redelivery need their own costs, including the procedure for extending the period.
Insurance assistance can be arranged within the agreed scope. Check the policy period, named origins, declared values, exclusions and claim requirements before the covered journey. Keep the separate outward counts and final delivery receipt together with condition photographs. Report a shortage or damage concern promptly to the moving contact and, where relevant, the insurer with the affected item number.
Choosing a mover, and the terms to settle
Compare the same stops and work
A quote with one pickup cannot be compared directly with a two-address collection. Give each mover the same inventory, floors, access and receiving address. Check the mode, packing and assembly tasks, expected dispatch and delivery window, and the price for any extra stop or waiting.
Set the payment and change procedure
Before paying an advance, identify the booking business and receipt, balance stages, cancellation terms and date-change rules. Agree who approves an additional item, changed address or extra task, and obtain the revised scope before that work starts. Keep the same version with your pickup contacts and Kolhapur receiver.

Preparing, and mistakes to avoid
- Write your inventory, and if goods are at two addresses, fill in the two-pickup worksheet.
- Write the Kolhapur address in full, with the PIN and a receiver's name.
- Ask whether an extra stop is available and what it costs, and have the answer in writing.
- Prepare appliances as their manuals say, and pack and number your own cartons.
- Ask your society office and the Kolhapur building about lift booking, permissions and moving hours.
- On loading day, count out against the inventory at each stop and sign each count.
- On delivery, count in against the combined list, check large pieces, and note any exception before you sign.
Common mistakes
- Reading a seven-hour navigation time as a same-day delivery.
- Assuming a second pickup is included in the base quote.
- Not giving each pickup its own package IDs.
- Naming Mumbai as the pickup when the goods are in Thane or Navi Mumbai.
- Forgetting that a rain plan needs to be in the written quote.
- Signing a clean receipt before the count.
