Distance and delivery time from Mumbai to Vapi
Use 170–230 km as a road planning range. Google Maps shows about 177 km and roughly 3 hours 47 minutes between Mumbai and Vapi on NH48, with alternative routes around 183 km and 188 km. That is a passenger driving time. A goods vehicle follows the route its carrier chooses, and the real distance shifts with your pickup point and the gate or street where the load is received in Vapi.
Driving time is only part of delivery. Loading, consolidation, dispatch and the receiving window all sit before and after the drive. These are preliminary planning windows to check against your booking:
| Booking type | Planning window | Counted from |
|---|---|---|
| Dedicated vehicle | 1–2 days | After dispatch |
| Shared or part load | 2–3 days | From pickup, including consolidation |
| Car | 2–3 days | From pickup |
| Bike | 2–3 days | From pickup |
None of these is a same-day guarantee. Ask for the pickup date, dispatch date and delivery window as written lines on your quote, and ask what happens if the receiving site cannot accept the load on the agreed day.
Indicative moving budgets for Mumbai to Vapi
The ranges below are indicative planning budgets. They are not an actual tariff, a market average or an invoice. Your figure depends on your inventory, floors, access at both ends, the booking mode and the extras you choose.
Households and few-item moves
| Move size | Indicative range |
|---|---|
| Few items | ₹5,500 – ₹9,500 |
| 1RK | ₹7,500 – ₹12,500 |
| 1BHK | ₹10,500 – ₹17,500 |
| 2BHK | ₹15,500 – ₹25,500 |
| 3BHK | ₹20,500 – ₹32,500 |
| 4BHK | ₹28,500 – ₹43,500 |
| Villa | ₹38,500 – ₹58,500 |
Larger villas and unusually heavy inventories are priced individually.
Small offices
A small physical office is budgeted at ₹17,500–₹29,500. That range assumes about 6–8 workstations with chairs and computers, a few cabinets, files and other physical goods. IT backup and reconnection are not included, and stock or machinery is quoted separately.
Cars and bikes
| Vehicle | Indicative range |
|---|---|
| Hatchback | ₹6,500 – ₹9,500 |
| Sedan | ₹8,500 – ₹12,500 |
| SUV | ₹10,500 – ₹15,500 |
| Bike | ₹2,500 – ₹4,500 |
| Heavy bike | ₹4,500 – ₹6,500 |
What the budget covers and what to write down
Each household or office range assumes basic packing, loading, transit and unloading of the inventory you describe, with the booking mode (dedicated or shared) identified separately. For any move, ask for each of the following to be written on the quote as included or extra:
- Dismantling and assembly of furniture
- Crates or special packing
- Technician work for appliances or IT
- Tolls and parking
- Stairs or a long carry from the vehicle to the door
- Waiting time
- Storage and redelivery
- GST
- Optional transit cover
Ask for dedicated and shared-load prices separately against the same inventory. The ranges above do not guarantee a dedicated vehicle at the shared-load price.
Single fridge or washing machine: is there a minimum cost?
A single appliance still needs a complete scope
One appliance may be the whole consignment, but it still needs preparation, protection and carrying at both ends. The wrapped item in this photograph makes those separate tasks easy to picture.
For a Mumbai to Vapi quote, send the model, dimensions and photographs of the item and both entrances. Explain whether it is disconnected and ready to move. Follow its manufacturer's preparation instructions and arrange any technical work separately with a qualified person.
Ask what the minimum charge covers: packing materials, loading, transport, unloading and placement. Include the floor and lift details so a single-item price does not rest on incomplete access information.
Moving one fridge is not automatically a price per kilogram, and it is not a small fraction of a BHK price. A booking still sends a crew and a vehicle to your door, so a minimum booking charge may apply. What matters is the basis the minimum is charged on, and whether it is written down.
A hypothetical example
The figures below are an illustration only. They are not an ALPM job tariff, invoice, customer case, review or market average, and they do not promise that a 2,500 transport figure is available for your move.
| Component | Illustrative amount |
|---|---|
| Packing | ₹1,200 |
| Combined pickup and delivery handling (both ends) | ₹1,800 |
| Transport | ₹2,500 |
| Total | ₹5,500 |
The 1,800 handling figure already covers loading at the pickup and unloading at the delivery. It should not be split again into two separate handling charges.
Adding a second appliance to the same booking
| Scenario | Illustrative total |
|---|---|
| Fridge only | ₹5,500 |
| Fridge and washing machine in one booking | ₹7,000 |
| Increment for the washing machine | ₹1,500 |
The increment is the 7,000 total minus the 5,500 for the fridge alone. It is not two separate 5,500 invoices, which would come to 11,000. This only works when the same addresses, date window, booking mode, access and scope apply to both items, and when the four tasks (packing, loading, transport, unloading) are all in the written scope.
What to ask before you accept a figure
- Are packing, loading, unloading and transport priced separately, and which are included?
- Does the price cover door pickup and door delivery, and on which floors?
- What volume and booking mode is it based on?
- What is the minimum invoice basis for a booking this small?
- Are GST, tolls, cover, stairs and long carry written as included or extra? Compare the complete payable figures, not the headline amounts.
Part load, transport only or full handling
If you have helpers who can pack and load the item properly, a part-load or transport-only arrangement can be cheaper, and you take on the preparation and handling. If you need packing and handling at both ends, ask for full handling and compare quotes with the same four tasks. A courier or parcel service may suit smaller, packable items. For a bulky appliance, compare size and handling limits before choosing.
Appliance preparation
Follow the manufacturer's guidance for preparing a fridge or washing machine for transport. If the manual calls for a technician, book a qualified one. Do not attempt fuel or gas work yourself.
Getting a single appliance into the Vapi flat
Before accepting a single-fridge quote, send the appliance's model and dimensions along with the clear width and height of both property doors, the lift opening and its usable inside space. Include any tight turns between the entrance and kitchen. Ask the moving team to assess the full carry route against the manufacturer's transport instructions. If the appliance does not fit the lift, a stair carry needs a separate access and handling assessment; it is not automatically feasible or included. Agree any revised method, floors, scope and price before pickup, rather than deciding on a landing with the appliance already there.
Services you can request on this route
House shifting
Packing, loading, transit and unloading for an apartment or house, with the inventory and the furniture to be moved agreed in the scope. Describe what is staying behind as clearly as what is going.
Few-item and single-appliance moves
For a bed, a sofa, a few boxes or one appliance, ask whether a minimum booking charge applies. Use the single-appliance section above to check what a quote contains.
Small office moves
Desks, chairs, cabinets, files and computers for a small physical office. State the number of workstations, whether IT backup and reconnection are needed, and whether stock or machinery is involved, because those are quoted separately.
Car transport
Ask which carrier or arrangement will be used, whether the car is moved alone or with other vehicles, and who is responsible for fuel level, personal items inside the car and key handover. Share the vehicle's declared value if you want cover.
Bike shifting
Bikes are priced by type, with heavier bikes costing more. Confirm how the bike will be secured, whether the fuel tank should be near empty and what condition notes are recorded at pickup.
Packing and fragile items
Glassware, framed pictures, crockery and electronics need careful packing. Ask which items the crew packs, which you pack yourself, and how fragile cartons are labelled and counted.
Dismantling and assembly
Beds and wardrobes may need dismantling and assembly. Agree which pieces are included and who supplies fixings and tools. Wall-fixed items may require a separate qualified technician.
Loading and unloading
Loading and unloading are separate tasks from transport. Ask who unloads at Vapi, how far they carry from the vehicle, and whether stairs are included.
Storage and transit cover
Storage can help if the keys to your Vapi property are not ready on delivery day. Ask where goods are held, for how long and at what charge. Transit cover is optional. Ask for the cover terms and exclusions in writing, and do not treat it as free or automatic.
Dedicated, shared or transport-only: choosing a booking mode
The same inventory can be moved in different ways, and each way changes cost and timing. Choose the mode first, then compare quotes.
| Mode | Suits | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Dedicated vehicle | Fuller homes and offices, or fixed timing needs | Higher cost, but a planning window of 1–2 days after dispatch |
| Shared or part load | Smaller inventories and flexible dates | Lower cost, but 2–3 days from pickup because of consolidation |
| Transport only | People who can pack and load with their own helpers | You carry the packing and handling risk. Ask whether it is available for your items. |
Whichever mode you pick, make sure it is named on the quote. A lower price for a shared load should not be compared with a dedicated-vehicle price for the same inventory.
Receiving in Vapi: industrial estate, home or Valsad city
Vapi is in Valsad district in southern Gujarat, and the district administration describes it as a large industrial estate town. For a mover, that means two very different kinds of delivery address, and the quote should say which one applies.
A workplace in the industrial estate
For an office or workplace delivery, give the exact GIDC phase, plot number and gate, along with the name of the person who will accept the load. Ask the receiving site about its own acceptance hours and whether the vehicle can enter or goods must be carried in from the gate. Write the agreed arrangement on the quote.
A home or residential society
For a home delivery, give the full address, PIN code, society or building name, floor, lift availability, vehicle access and a receiver's phone number. A flat on the fourth floor without a lift is a different job from a ground-floor house.
Vapi and Valsad city are different endpoints
Valsad city is not automatically the same as Vapi. If the delivery is in Valsad city or elsewhere in the district, quote it as its own endpoint, not as one shared charge.
What a household or office booking does not assume
A household or office booking does not assume that pets, chemicals, laboratory material, stock or industrial machinery are accepted. If your move includes anything like that, ask before booking. ALPM does not promise to carry them under a standard household booking.
Daman, Silvassa and the towns around Vapi
Daman and Silvassa are close by but lie in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, not in Gujarat. Pardi, Bhilad, Sarigam and Umbergam are separate places within Valsad district, several with their own industrial areas. Each of these is its own endpoint, with its own distance, access and, for a workplace, its own gate arrangements.
If the job is in Vapi but the flat is in Daman or Silvassa, or the other way round, give us the address where the goods will actually be unloaded, with its PIN. That is the address the quote, the vehicle and the receiving window are planned for.
Mumbai pickup access checks
Pickup access can change the schedule even on a short route. Before the crew arrives, check and write down:
- Floor, lift size and whether the lift can be reserved for moving
- Where a vehicle can stop, and how far goods must be carried to reach it
- Whether your society sets moving hours or needs advance notice
- Narrow lanes or parking restrictions that may need a smaller vehicle
- A contact person who will be at the pickup
Share these notes when you ask for a quote, and ask for them to be recorded in the scope.
Why book with ALPM
You can contact ALPM directly about the inventory, quote and moving arrangement. Your inventory and access details are itemised in the scope. The transport arrangement and delivery window are agreed in writing, and the items are counted against the inventory at handover.
The business is Agarwal Logistics Packers and Movers, also known as Agarwal (ALPM) Packers and Movers. How to compare Mumbai to Vapi quotes
A lower quote can simply leave something out. To compare fairly, ask every mover to state the same things:
- The inventory they priced, including large items and fragile cartons
- The booking mode, dedicated or shared
- Floors and access at both ends
- The pickup date and delivery window
- Whether packing, loading, transit and unloading are all included
- Whether GST, tolls, stairs, long carry, waiting and cover are included or extra
Then compare the complete payable figures. A quote that omits unloading or stairs may look cheaper than one that includes them.
How a move runs from enquiry to handover
- Send the pickup and delivery addresses, the inventory and any access notes.
- Receive an itemised written scope and budget.
- Confirm the booking mode, pickup date and delivery window.
- The crew packs and loads, and the items are counted against the inventory.
- The load travels to Vapi, and the receiving contact is kept informed of the agreed window.
- The crew unloads at the agreed endpoint, and you check the handover count against the inventory before signing off.
Pre-move checklist
- Decide what is moving and what is being sold, donated or left behind.
- Photograph valuable or fragile items and note any existing damage.
- Keep documents, jewellery, cash and medicines with you.
- Empty and defrost any fridge or freezer according to its manual.
- Confirm the receiving person and their phone number in Vapi.
- Check that the Vapi property or site will be ready on the delivery day.
- Keep the written quote and the inventory list where you can reach them on moving day.
Common mistakes on a short interstate move
- Treating the Google Maps drive time as the delivery time.
- Comparing a shared-load quote with a dedicated-vehicle quote for the same inventory.
- Leaving stairs, long carry or waiting time out of the quote and discovering them on the day.
- Giving an area name for Vapi instead of the phase, plot, gate or society and floor.
- Assuming Vapi and Valsad city are one endpoint.
- Adding items on the day without agreeing a revised figure.
- Paying an advance without knowing what it reserves.
Advance payment, date changes and cancellation
Before paying any advance, ask what it reserves, when the rest is due and how date changes and cancellations are handled. Whatever is agreed should appear on the quote.
- The advance amount and what it secures
- What happens if you change the date, and how much notice is needed
- What applies if you cancel after the crew or vehicle has been arranged
- Who bears waiting time if the pickup or delivery site is not ready
