Chennai to Vijayawada Shifting Charges
The figures below are indicative October 2026 budget guides for a Chennai to Vijayawada household move. Your accepted written estimate sets the payable amount. The household rows assume a normal shared-load inventory, usual packing and ordinary access at both ends, and each one counts the base scope once: packing, loading, road transport, unloading and agreed assembly.
| Move size | Budget guide | How it is settled |
|---|---|---|
| Few items | Rs. 9,100–13,100 | Actual item count, packed size, weight, volume, charging basis and any minimum |
| 1 BHK | Rs. 12,500–22,500 | Inventory and access at both ends |
| 2 BHK | Rs. 15,500–27,500 | Inventory, floors and packing needed |
| 3 BHK | Rs. 19,500–32,500 | Inventory, heavy items and carry distance |
| 4 BHK | Rs. 24,700–39,800 | Larger homes are assessed from the actual item list |
| Office | Assessed separately | Workstations, storage units, equipment and access |
| Dedicated whole vehicle | Assessed separately | Vehicle size, dates and how full the load is |
What the written quote should show separately
GST is always shown on its own line, never folded into an ambiguous total. Several other items can sit inside or outside a quote depending on your move, so each one should be marked as included, extra or not applicable:
- Optional transit cover
- Tolls and parking
- Stairs and long carry from the vehicle to the door
- Crates for fragile or oversized items
- Waiting time at either end
- Holding or storage, and transfer between vehicles
- Technician work such as AC removal and refitting
- Unpacking of contents and removal of packing material
What moves the figure within a range
Volume and weight set the starting point, and heavy pieces such as wardrobes, refrigerators and washing machines add handling effort. Floors, lift availability and the walk from the vehicle to the door change the labour needed at both ends. Fragile items raise the amount of packing material and time. Design-permitted dismantling and the assembly agreed in writing are assessed from the actual furniture. A shared load usually costs less than a dedicated vehicle, because the space is divided, but it comes with a longer planning window. Send a real item list and both street addresses and the range narrows to a figure you can compare.
Route, Distance and Transit Time
Use about 490 km as the road planning distance between Chennai and Vijayawada. The actual distance for your move changes with the exact pickup and delivery addresses and the road the operator selects, so treat it as a guide and not a measured figure for your doors.
An illustrative approach follows the NH16 corridor from Chennai through Nellore and Ongole to Vijayawada. Depending on your delivery locality, the operator may use a Guntur connector or another local road for the final leg. These towns are not required waypoints, and no particular road is promised to save time or distance. Ask for the route plan in the quote instead of assuming one road.
How timing is counted
Planning times start when the vehicle leaves Chennai, not when you book. Packing, loading and, for shared loads, consolidation of goods all happen before dispatch. A loaded household vehicle also needs driver rest, and the unloading slot at the Vijayawada end should be agreed before departure and reconfirmed as the vehicle nears its expected arrival.
- Dedicated vehicle: about 2–3 days after dispatch
- Shared load: about 3–5 days after dispatch
Plan in days, not hours. Car travel times between the two cities are not a guide to goods vehicle timing, and these ranges are planning estimates, not promised arrival times.
A Dated Receiving-Door Record for Vijayawada–Amaravati Homes
On a Chennai move to the Vijayawada–Amaravati belt, a change of receiving address after dispatch can change the approach, labour and unloading arrangements. The name on the booking might be a project, a sales office or a work address, while the place that can actually receive household goods is a private door with a ready room behind it. A project name or a sales office is not the same as that door, and a project gate or sales office should never be assumed to be a place that can hold your goods.
A simple dated record, written before loading, helps settle those details. The hypothetical example below shows how the record works.
Worked example: a Mangalagiri project home
The household inventory is a bed (F01), a refrigerator (R01) and twelve cartons (C01–C12). The intended receiving door is a flat in a Mangalagiri project, but the keys, the lift and the room condition are not yet confirmed. A rental in Patamata is the fallback, but only if the owner's permission, the unloading window and the full path from the vehicle to the room are all accepted in writing.
| Record field | Entry in the example | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Date of this version | Dated on the day it is written | Recorded |
| Inventory | F01 bed, R01 refrigerator, C01–C12 (12 cartons) | Listed |
| Intended door | Flat in a Mangalagiri project: block, door number, PIN, map pin and goods entrance | Address recorded |
| Keys | Held by an authorised receiver | Not confirmed |
| Room clean and dry | Ready for cartons and furniture | Not confirmed |
| Lift or stairs | Working lift, or the stairs route | Not confirmed |
| Fallback door | Patamata rental | Only if owner permission, unloading window and full path are accepted in writing |
Three choices before loading
While the status column still shows items that are not confirmed, choose one of these before the vehicle is loaded:
- Wait. Hold the loading date until the door, keys and room are confirmed.
- Approved changed door. Send the revised actual address with the PIN, map pin, goods entrance, an authorised receiver, keys, a clean and dry room, the lift or stairs route and the unloading window. The estimate is then re-agreed in writing, and a change of door is not assumed to be free.
- Assessed, confirmed holding. If goods must wait, the holding is assessed and written with its location, duration and cost, as covered under storage below.
Once a version is chosen, the quote, the inventory, the vehicle window, the coordinator, the crew, the driver and the receiver should all work from that same version of the record. If anything changes, issue a new dated version and clearly mark the earlier version as superseded, so nobody loads or unloads against an out-of-date address.
House Shifting and Few-Items Moves
Full house shifting
A household move from a 1 BHK flat to a larger home covers packing at the Chennai address, loading, road transport to Vijayawada, unloading and agreed assembly. Cartons are numbered and labelled by room, so the crew at the Vijayawada end can place them where they belong and you can find the kitchen and bedroom boxes first. The inventory made at packing is the document the whole move is checked against, from dispatch to handover.
Furniture, fittings and assembly
Beds, wardrobes, tables and modular units are dismantled only where the design allows it. Protect detachable panels separately. Screws, hinges and fittings are bagged, labelled and kept with the piece they belong to, and reassembly is limited to what is agreed in the quote. If a unit cannot safely be taken apart, say so at the enquiry stage, because it changes the loading plan. Check packed length, width and height against the complete carrying path, including turns, stairs, lift cabin and door openings at both ends. A single gate-width measurement cannot establish that a wardrobe will reach its room.
Few items and small loads
A bed, a refrigerator, a washing machine and a few cartons do not need a full-home price. A few-items move is priced from the actual count of pieces, their packed size, weight and volume, the charging basis used for the load and any minimum that applies. Share an exact list rather than a general description. Two moves described as 'a few items' can differ widely once a refrigerator and a sofa are on the list.
When a shared load can carry a whole home
A shared load is not only for small moves. A whole home can travel as a shared load if vehicle capacity and dates fit, and a part load is simply your portion of a shared vehicle, not a third kind of service. A dedicated vehicle gives you closer control over when the vehicle leaves, but it is not a guarantee of arrival time.
A furnished room, family home or transport-only enquiry
Before sending furniture for a student room or a new posting in Vijayawada, ask what the accommodation already supplies. A bed or refrigerator that is provided there can be left out of the moving list. Use the actual room or rental address for delivery; a college, workplace or project office may be only a reference point.
If you are comparing lorry hire with a full household package, add the packing, loading, unloading and agreed assembly to the transport figure before deciding. Truck capacity follows packed volume, weight and the largest pieces, rather than a fixed vehicle size for every 2 BHK. Reduce unwanted belongings before the survey and compare the same remaining list with each mover.
Packing, Fragile Goods and Appliances
Books, crockery, glass and televisions
Books and heavy items go into small cartons so the weight stays manageable, while clothes and soft goods use larger ones. Crockery and glassware are packed with dividers and cushioning between pieces. Televisions, glass tops and framed items need rigid, cushioned protection, and crates are used if the item is assessed as needing one. Tell us about anything antique, glass-topped or oversized when you ask for the quote, so packing is planned before the loading day and not improvised on it.
Cartons you pack yourself
Owner-packed cartons can travel, but the terms that apply to them depend on what the quote says about acceptance. They are counted and listed on the inventory, and a sealed carton can be checked for count and outer condition, not for what is inside. If you pack fragile items yourself, photograph them and label the carton clearly.
Refrigerator and washing machine
Preparation depends on the model. Follow the maker's manual for defrosting and drying the refrigerator, and for transit bolts or restraints on the washing machine if your model requires them. There is no universal rule about how long before the move to switch off a refrigerator or how long to wait before restarting it, so check the manual and ask at the time of the quote.
Air conditioners
Removal and refitting of split or window AC units is work for a qualified AC or electrical technician. It is quoted separately from the household move, and the technician visit can be arranged for your Chennai address ahead of loading and for the Vijayawada address after unloading.
Office Shifting from Chennai to Vijayawada
Office moves are priced from an inventory rather than a flat band, because a ten-desk team and a floor with servers and storage are different jobs. Share the number of workstations, chairs, cabinets, files and storage units, any printers or network equipment, and the floor and lift details at both buildings. Check the loading and unloading hours your building allows before you fix the date.
Asset IDs and receivers
For an office, physical asset IDs are the clearest way to keep track of equipment. Tag each item before packing and note a release contact at the Chennai office and a named receiver at the Vijayawada office, so the inventory at unloading has someone who can confirm it.
IT equipment and machinery
Data backup, disconnection, reconnection and testing of computers, servers and network equipment are handled by your own qualified IT person or a qualified technician arranged for the purpose, and that work is priced separately. A move of this kind cannot be planned as zero downtime, so schedule the cut-over with that in mind. Machinery or heavy equipment needs its own assessment before it is added to a quote.
Car and Bike Transport to Vijayawada
Vehicles are quoted separately from the household load. These are budget guides for the Chennai to Vijayawada route, and the final figure depends on the actual vehicle and the actual collection and delivery points.
| Vehicle | Budget guide | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Standard bike | Rs. 3,500–5,900 | Base scope is separate from the household load |
| Standard car | Rs. 6,000–10,000 | Open or enclosed carrier to be stated in the quote |
| Premium bike, SUV, luxury car or closed carrier | Assessed separately | Depends on model, size and carrier type |
| Loading-only for your own vehicle | Quoted separately | Actual responsibilities written out |
What the quote should state
Give the make, model and year, and mention whether the vehicle is low-slung, modified or not in running condition. The quote should say whether the carrier is open or enclosed, where the vehicle will be collected and where it will be delivered, and what the base price covers. Wrapping, collection, delivery, loading, unloading and optional cover should each be marked included, extra or not applicable, with GST shown separately, so you are comparing the same scope between companies.
Handover record
At collection, photograph the vehicle with a date, and note the odometer reading, the keys handed over and any accessories left inside. Keep copies of the required papers with you, and follow the vehicle maker's or the carrier's guidance on fuel and battery, since there is no single rule about fuel level that suits every vehicle. Compare the same photos and notes at delivery.
A car or bike may follow a separate carrier schedule, so its date window can differ from your household load. Confirm the vehicle's collection and delivery dates separately. If you supply the goods vehicle and need only loading help, agree a separate labour quote stating who supplies the vehicle, packing, restraints and transport, and who is responsible at each handover.
Vehicle papers and a longer stay in Andhra Pradesh
Keep the RC, insurance and applicable PUC details requested for the booking ready, along with owner authorisation where needed. Keep originals with you and provide the copies the carrier requests. If your Tamil Nadu registered vehicle will stay in Andhra Pradesh longer term, check the registration and tax requirements for your particular vehicle with the relevant transport authority. Booking transport and completing that process are separate jobs.
Chennai Pickup Details That Affect Your Quote
ALPM operates from its Senneerkuppam branch in Chennai, and every pickup is planned from the address details you share. The more of these you can answer at the enquiry stage, the closer the first estimate is to the final one.
- Floor number, lift availability and lift size for wardrobes and refrigerators
- Where the vehicle can stop, and whether the lane or gate limits a large truck
- Apartment or society rules on moving hours, deposits or permissions, which differ from building to building
- The walk from the vehicle to your door
- A landmark or map pin for the driver
If your building allows moving only in set hours, say so before you confirm the date. Arrange any AC, geyser or appliance disconnection with a technician beforehand, as that fee is listed separately.
Include your Chennai pickup locality
Tell us whether the pickup is in Porur, Valasaravakkam, Vadapalani, Anna Nagar, Mogappair, Ambattur, Avadi, T Nagar, Adyar, Guindy, Velachery, Perambur or Madhavaram. For Tambaram, Chromepet, Pallavaram, Medavakkam or OMR around Perungudi and Sholinganallur, send the building and goods entrance as well as the locality. The approach to NH16 depends on that actual address.
Show the stopping point and the complete path from your flat to the vehicle in the survey photos. If a large truck cannot reach it, discuss whether a smaller local vehicle is feasible and have the transfer work priced before booking. Confirm the applicable building and local access arrangements for the chosen date rather than relying on a city-wide loading time.
Delivery Areas in and Around Vijayawada
A quote that says only 'Vijayawada' leaves a lot unsaid. Benz Circle, Patamata, Gunadala and Bhavanipuram are examples of city addresses, where the key details are the building, the floor, the lift or stairs, and the vehicle's access to the gate. Tadepalli, Mangalagiri, Amaravati and other outlying drops need an exact estimate, not an automatic city price, because the approach distance, the access to the door and the agreed unloading work all change the job.
| Drop type | Address details to give | What to confirm at the door |
|---|---|---|
| Vijayawada city flat | Locality, building, flat number, floor, PIN and map pin | Lift or stairs, parking and unloading hours the building allows |
| Tadepalli or Mangalagiri home | Exact road or colony, house number, PIN and map pin | Receiver present, a ready room and vehicle access to the door |
| Amaravati-area project address | Project, block, door or flat number and the goods entrance | Written confirmation of a receiver and a ready room |
The estimate should record the actual delivery point and the unloading work accepted, so the final charge matches what was quoted.
City neighbourhoods and the capital-region side
For Labbipet, Governorpet, Suryaraopet, Moghalrajpuram, Ramavarappadu, Auto Nagar, Vidyadharapuram, Ajit Singh Nagar, Gollapudi, Kanuru, Poranki, Penamaluru or Enikepadu, give the full house or flat address and PIN. Locality names help locate the home; they do not establish the truck access, floor charges or available unloading hours.
If the destination is Gannavaram, Ibrahimpatnam, Kondapalli, Undavalli, Tadepalli or Mangalagiri, name that place at enquiry. For an Amaravati-area project, confirm the actual home that can receive goods using the receiving-door plan above. Another town or an extra drop needs its own route, handling and price assessment. For a destination in Guntur, use the Chennai to Guntur moving guide when preparing your enquiry.
Storage, Transfer and Backup Receiver
These three arrangements are used only when the move needs them, and only when they are feasible and agreed in writing.
Storage
If your new home is not ready, storage can be considered where an operator and location are confirmed and available. The written arrangement should state the operator, location, custodian and item IDs for your goods, their visible condition when they go in, who can access them, how long they will stay, the rate, and the terms for exit and redelivery. Free storage, owned warehouses or climate-controlled space should not be assumed unless the quote says so.
Transfer between vehicles
Where a transfer is needed, it must be lawful and feasible at a permitted location with the crew available to unload and reload the goods and carry them over the local leg. Its cost is counted once in the quote. Record the IDs and the visible condition of the goods at transfer, because matching an ID tells you the item arrived, not what condition it is in.
Backup receiver
A backup receiver needs the keys and authority to accept the goods, with gate permission, lift or stairs, crew access and the receiving room ready for the delivery. If they are not, agree a new slot in writing or arrange an assessed holding, instead of unloading goods into a room that cannot take them.
Plan Your Vijayawada Arrival and First Week
Your family may reach Andhra Pradesh before the household vehicle. Choose the unloading date around when the receiving home is ready, and carry enough essentials for the separate shared-load or dedicated-vehicle window. The after-dispatch guide does not include time spent packing or waiting for consolidation in Chennai.
Weather, keys and the receiving room
Check weather forecasts and any official rain or cyclone warnings near the moving dates, especially for a coastal NH16 journey. Discuss sheltered loading, dry packing and a workable receiving slot if heavy rain affects either address. A calendar month alone cannot establish road conditions or a fixed delay. For hot-weather moves, carry temperature-sensitive medicines with you and follow their storage instructions.
Jobs to finish before leaving Chennai
- Agree the rental inspection, key handover and final utility readings with the owner.
- Ask your LPG distributor about the applicable transfer process; do not put a cylinder into the household consignment without discussing carrier restrictions.
- Request school transfer records and any joining documents early, using the institution's own requirements.
- Arrange broadband closure or transfer and return any provider-owned equipment as instructed.
- Keep original certificates, jewellery, cash, devices, chargers, medicines and first-night clothing with you.
- Confirm who has the Vijayawada keys and can remain available for unloading, not simply who can answer the phone.
Where you have date flexibility, compare the actual shared-load departures and dedicated options available. Do not assume a weekday is always cheaper or that a passenger train arrival fixes when the goods truck can unload.
How a Chennai to Vijayawada Move Runs
- Enquiry. Share both full addresses, your preferred date and whether you prefer a shared load or a dedicated vehicle.
- Inventory and access review. Send an item list with floors, lifts and the vehicle's access to the door at both ends. Photos of bulky or fragile items help.
- Written estimate. Receive an estimate that states the scope, what is included and what is charged separately, with GST shown on its own line.
- Approval and booking. Agree the date and the vehicle arrangement. Advance payment stages and cancellation or rescheduling terms should be in writing before you book.
- Packing and numbered inventory. The crew packs and loads at the Chennai address, labels cartons by room and records the inventory.
- Dispatch and updates. The vehicle leaves Chennai, and you receive updates until the unloading slot is reconfirmed near arrival.
- Agreed unloading and handover. Goods are unloaded and placed at the Vijayawada door, agreed assembly is completed and the inventory is checked at handover.
Optional Cover and Delivery Handover
Optional transit cover
Optional cover is separate from the carrier's own liability and is not assumed to be mandatory or to pay out in full. If you want it, ask for the actual insurer's policy, the declared value it would apply to, the exclusions, any deductible, and the reporting steps for a claim, together with its price in the quote. Photograph valuable items and note their value on your inventory. Keep jewellery, cash and original documents with you instead of in the load.
Checking the delivery
At handover, check the IDs on the cartons and furniture against your list, and check the visible condition of the goods behind each ID. Intact outer packing and a correct carton count are not proof that the contents are undamaged, so open fragile cartons soon after arrival. Record any exception promptly in writing, take photographs and report it, so it can be reviewed against the inventory made at loading.
How to Compare Packers and Movers Quotes for This Route
A low figure means little if it leaves out unloading, stairs or assembly. Put quotes next to each other on the same basis and ask each mover to confirm the following in writing:
- Which mode is quoted: shared or dedicated vehicle, identifying your portion of a shared load
- The inventory the quote is based on, and what happens if it changes
- The street address and door at both ends, not only the city
- The scope: packing, loading, unloading, placement and assembly
- The clock: when timing starts, how many days it is planned after dispatch, and the unloading window
- Whether optional cover is offered, with the policy details and price
- The total payable, with GST shown separately and tolls, parking and similar extras marked
Also ask how the advance payment is staged and how cancellation or rescheduling is handled, and get these terms in writing before you book. Verify the company's registered details yourself, and ask for a receipt for anything you pay.
Employer-paid relocation and booking documents
If an employer reimburses your move, share the required billing name, GST details and estimate or invoice format before booking. ALPM publishes GSTIN 36FDRPM0957B1ZC. Keep the approved quote, inventory, consignment reference, invoice and payment receipt together so the goods list and the billed work can be matched later.
Why ALPM for Chennai to Vijayawada
Agarwal Logistics Packers and Movers, also known as Agarwal (ALPM) Packers and Movers, is an independent moving company with a branch at Senneerkuppam, Chennai. For Vijayawada moves the value is in a process you can check at each step, not in claims you have to take on trust.
- Direct enquiry with the branch, with no extra layer between you and the people planning your move
- An inventory and access review before any figure is fixed
- A written estimate that separates the household scope, optional items and GST
- Updates after dispatch and a defined unloading and handover step
Tell us your preferred date and whether your new home is in the city or in the Tadepalli, Mangalagiri or Amaravati area, and we will say whether it suits a dedicated vehicle or a shared load and what we need to confirm first.
