These are indicative guides for a one-way move with normal packing and normal access, on a shared or consolidated basis. A dedicated whole vehicle, or a heavy inventory, is assessed separately. The written quote follows your actual inventory and both addresses, so treat the figures as a way to plan, not as an invoice.

The carrier, the vehicle model and the carrier's schedule decide a vehicle quote. A vehicle usually runs on its own schedule, not on the household truck's.
What moves the number
- Inventory volume, heavy furniture and fragile items.
- Floors without a lift and a long carry between the door and the vehicle.
- Extra packing materials, crates for glass or screens, and dismantling work.
- Dedicated or shared mode, and how flexible your dates are.
- Delays at either building, such as a changed unloading slot or gate waiting.
Why there is no per-kg price
A single per-kg rate or minimum weight would hide the things that change the work most: floors, carry distance, fragility, vehicle fit and how much dismantling is needed. The quote is built from your inventory and access instead.
Compare dedicated space using the actual inventory
Ask for shared and dedicated estimates against the same list of furniture, cartons and fragile pieces. If a quote proposes a 14-foot, 17-foot or larger truck, check the usable internal space, door opening and payload against the packed items. A bedroom count alone cannot select the vehicle. The dedicated quote should identify reserved capacity, packing and unloading scope and any local collection or delivery handling.
What a Chennai to Hyderabad Moving Quote Should State in Writing
Two quotes of the same amount can cover very different work. Ask for every line below to be written as included, extra or not applicable.

Comparing two quotes
If one quote is lower, compare the lines it leaves out, such as unloading, stairs, tolls or assembly, before comparing totals. A quote that leaves out unloading can end up higher once the move is done.
What the Move Covers: Household, Furniture, Office, Vehicles and Storage
House shifting and furniture
Furniture counts, dimensions, door widths, stairs and lift size are recorded at the inventory stage, so the crew and vehicle suit the home. Beds and wardrobes that must be dismantled are agreed beforehand. Fittings are bagged and labelled to the piece they belong to. Fixed carpentry, such as built-in units, is assessed before anything is promised.
Packing materials
Materials are matched to the item. Books go in small cartons so they stay liftable. Crockery is wrapped with cushioning and dividers. Furniture gets edge covers and a mattress gets a cover. TVs and monitors travel in rigid cushioned screen packs or a crate where it has been assessed. Owner-packed cartons and crew-packed fragile items may have different cover terms; check the actual policy for each. Not all materials are automatically included.
Appliances
Follow the appliance model manual: prepare a fridge by defrosting and drying as required, and fit a washing machine’s transit restraints when its manual requires them. Preparation timing depends on the model. Qualified AC, electrical or plumbing work is a separate technical visit, not part of packing.
Placement versus unpacking
Room placement means setting furniture and labelled cartons in the right rooms. Unpacking contents is a separate task. Agree which one your quote includes.
Few items, luggage and part loads
For a few pieces of furniture or luggage, share the actual counts, sizes and access details. A suitable mode is then quoted. A part load is simply a portion of a shared vehicle, not a third kind of service. A whole household can also travel shared if capacity and dates fit.
Office goods
Office moves cover physical goods: desks, chairs, cabinets, files and boxed computers. Label by department or desk so the Hyderabad receiver can place assets without sorting. Your own qualified IT person should back up data and disconnect networks. Zero downtime is not promised. Heavy industrial stock is not automatically office or household scope and is assessed on its own.
Loading and unloading only
If you have arranged your own vehicle, loading or unloading labour can be quoted as a separate scope. The vehicle and its handover remain your arrangement. It is not a full relocation.
Storage if the new home is not ready
Storage is arranged with an operator. Before you commit, confirm its location and availability, how goods are tagged at intake, their recorded condition, access terms, duration, rate, exit steps and redelivery.
Optional transit cover
Optional cover depends on the actual insurer's policy: the declared value, exclusions, deductible and the way a claim is reported. It sits alongside the carrier's liability. It is not a fixed percentage, and it does not mean automatic full compensation.
Car and bike transport
Before loading, record the vehicle's dated condition photos, odometer, keys, accessories, fuel level and battery state, and supply any copies required. Follow the carrier's and the maker's instructions. A closed carrier is quoted separately and runs on its own schedule.
Chennai to Hyderabad Route, Transit and Vehicle Choice
An illustrative route
Maps driving routes show about 629 km, mostly on NH16 and the Narketpally–Addanki–Medarmetla road, with NH44 on some alternatives. A common planning picture runs along the coastal NH16 through Nellore and Ongole or Medarametla, then Addanki and Narketpally, then the NH65 approach into Hyderabad. This is an illustration only. The trip does not run on one highway number, Vijayawada is not compulsory, and the operator picks the actual route from the vehicle and your delivery address.

These are planning windows, not guarantees. The packing appointment and the Hyderabad unloading slot are separate from them. A shared load may also wait for consolidation before leaving Chennai.
Dedicated or shared
A dedicated vehicle gives you more control over when it leaves. That is control, not a promise of a date. A shared load does not always wait until a whole truck fills. A full house can share if the capacity and dates fit, and you can ask for a dispatch window instead of one fixed day.
Cars and bikes
A passenger car can make the trip in roughly 12–15 hours, but that is not the clock for your household goods. Cars and bikes usually travel on a separate carrier schedule, so confirm that date on its own if you need the vehicle on arrival.
Chennai Pickup: Getting Ready for Loading Day
Check the carry path while the room is still clear
The broad flat package in this photo needs a different carry plan from the smaller pieces beside it. Wrapping makes a surface less visible; it does not make the package narrower.
Before pickup in Chennai, measure large pieces after allowing for their packing. Share the narrowest doorway, stair turn and goods-lift opening at the Hyderabad address. Include photographs of any awkward turn, rather than relying on a room's size alone.
If dismantling is an option, settle it before loading day. Confirm who does the work and how the parts will be identified, so the receiving team knows what it is expecting.

- Book the goods lift or society permission for the loading hours, and tell security a vehicle and crew are coming.
- Check that a large vehicle can reach the gate. If the lane is narrow, say so, because goods may need to be carried to a larger vehicle.
- Prepare the fridge and washing machine as the model manual describes, and disconnect the gas cylinder and keep it out of the load.
- Photograph valuable furniture and appliances before packing starts.
- Carry cash, jewellery, ID and property documents, laptops, medicines, chargers and a first-day bag with clothes and basic kitchen items.
Loading and sign-off
Loading follows the assessed load plan, with heavy pieces supported, fragile cartons protected from crushing and goods secured appropriately for road transit. Check the loading list before the vehicle leaves Chennai, and keep a copy.
OMR, Velachery, Tambaram and western Chennai
For Sholinganallur or Perungudi on OMR, include the tower and the gate that loading vehicles use. For Velachery, Tambaram, Porur, Anna Nagar, Ambattur or Avadi, send the same floor, lift and stopping-point information. A short video from the room to the gate can show a stair turn or doorway that room photographs miss.
If you are moving into a furnished Hyderabad flat, check which beds and appliances are already there before finalising the inventory. Ask for estimates with and without a bulky item you may leave behind. That gives you a useful saving comparison without reducing protection for fragile pieces.
Hyderabad Delivery Areas: Plan the Building Behind the Locality Name
A quote for Hyderabad needs the actual home, rather than only the name of your office or a familiar city landmark. Send the receiving address before the vehicle is chosen, so the road approach, carry and lift arrangements are included together.

Hyderabad Arrival: Reaching the ORR Is Not Doorstep Delivery
Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road has interchanges that connect the highways to the city, including those near Pedda Amberpet, Shamshabad and Patancheru. A message that the vehicle has reached the ORR or the outskirts tells you it is approaching the city. It is not permission to enter your society's goods gate, it does not mean a lift is free, and it does not mean unloading is complete.

The urban approach is chosen from your address
As illustrations only, a home in Hayathnagar or Uppal in the east, Gachibowli or Kondapur in the west, or Secunderabad or Bowenpally in the north may each need a different final approach. These are examples and not a fixed exit per locality. The operator selects a lawful and suitable approach from your gate pin and the vehicle size. ORR use is not mandatory and is not a promise of a faster delivery.
A Hypothetical Lift-Slot Change on Arrival Day
This is an illustration, not an actual job. Suppose the vehicle sends an ORR progress update, and the receiver learns the society goods-lift slot they requested is no longer available.
- The receiver agrees a real new slot with the building before the vehicle makes its final approach. The ORR timestamp is a progress record, not a binding reservation.
- If a backup receiver is named, they help only if the gate, lift, crew and room are available at that time. Confirm that the backup can actually receive the goods within the building’s allowed slot.
- If no workable slot exists, the options are the agreed new slot or lawful, permitted holding assessed on its terms. Those terms cover the actual operator and location, availability, custody IDs, condition, access, duration, rate, exit and redelivery, and any approved charges.
Agree any waiting or holding charges and the actual facility before changing the unloading plan. Use only a suitable, permitted receiving location.
Keeping the paperwork consistent
The address and the slots should read the same across the estimate, the inventory and the driver's delivery sheet. Record real changes in the agreement. A clerical label correction for an unchanged door is not an automatic charge.
Paperwork and Moving-Date Preparation
Household and office records
Keep the accepted estimate, numbered inventory, consignment reference, full addresses and requested booking ID copies together. Used personal and household effects are listed under the e-way bill exemption. Office assets, stock and new goods need their own movement-document check: have the consignor or accounts team confirm the applicable invoice or challan and e-way bill before pickup.
Car and bike papers
Prepare the RC, insurance, applicable PUC and owner details requested by the carrier, keeping originals with you. If a Tamil Nadu vehicle will remain in Telangana long term, check registration reassignment, NOC and tax requirements with the transport authorities. Carrying the vehicle to Hyderabad does not complete those formalities.
Rain and a fixed joining date
For an October–December pickup, check the Chennai forecast near the packing date and arrange a dry place to pack and load. Confirm the Hyderabad entrance and receiving slot close to arrival too. Dry bedding and wooden furniture before wrapping; an outer cover cannot remove moisture already inside.
If a job or lease date is fixed, carry your work device, originals, medicines and first-day essentials with you. Ask about the actual packing and dispatch availability around month-end or festivals, rather than assuming a booking confirmation means the truck has left.
Unloading and Handover in Hyderabad
Goods-entry rules differ by building. Ask your society office or landlord about timings, lift booking, parking for a large vehicle and any move-in procedure before the vehicle leaves Chennai.
- Keep the lift lobby, stairs and doorway clear for large furniture.
- Have someone at the flat directing items room by room using the carton labels.
- Check outer package IDs one by one against the loading list, with the visible condition of each. Totals alone are not enough.
- Note any visible exceptions on the sheet before signing and report them promptly in writing to the coordinator.
- Open fragile cartons soon after unloading. A matching ID count is not proof about what is inside a closed carton.
- Confirm in advance whether bed and wardrobe reassembly, and technician installation of appliances, are included or booked separately.
Valuables, documents and medicines stay with you throughout. If you are moving anything unusual or restricted, it is assessed as the actual item before acceptance.
