Chennai to Pune Packers and Movers Charges by Home Size
These are ALPM's indicative planning ranges for a shared load, written in October 2026 for normal packing and normal access. Use them to plan, then confirm the payable scope in a written estimate based on your inventory and both addresses.
| Move type | Indicative total | What can move the figure |
|---|---|---|
| 1 BHK | ₹18,500–₹24,500 | Carton count, bulky furniture, floor and lift access |
| 2 BHK | ₹28,500–₹40,500 | Number of appliances, beds and wardrobes to dismantle, carry distance |
| 3 BHK | ₹50,500–₹70,500 | Packing volume, crating, stairs and parking distance |
| 4 BHK or villa | Assessed from inventory | A full room-by-room inventory; no fixed band is quoted |
| A few items | Shared quote on actual count, size, weight and volume | The charging basis and any minimum, stated in writing |
A dedicated whole vehicle, or a load with heavy or special pieces, is assessed separately and does not sit inside these ranges.
What the base figure is meant to cover
- Packing of the goods listed in the agreed inventory
- Loading at the Chennai address
- Road transport to Pune or Pimpri-Chinchwad
- Unloading at the agreed goods address
- Assembly that has been agreed, quoted once
Lines to mark included, extra or not applicable
Ask for each line below to be written as included, extra with an amount, or not applicable. A figure with unmarked lines cannot be compared with anything.
- Tax, shown separately from the base figure
- Toll and parking
- Stairs and long carry
- Crates for glass, mirrors and similar pieces
- Waiting time at either end
- Transfer to or from a holding arrangement
- Technical work on contents, such as appliance removal or refitting
- Unpacking and removal of packing material
- Storage, if any
- Optional cover, if offered
Dedicated truck, tempo or container quote
If you want a whole vehicle for your household, ask for a separate dedicated estimate after the inventory review. A 14 ft or 17 ft truck label alone does not show whether your packed wardrobe, sofa and appliances fit. Confirm usable loading dimensions, payload and the handling arrangement for your actual load.
A truck-hire figure may leave packing, crew, unloading or refitting to you. Compare it with a full household service only after each task is included or assigned. For shared space, identify the charging basis, dispatch window and any minimum; keep the household guide above separate from the price of reserving an entire truck.
Chennai to Pune Distance, Route and Days After Dispatch
For planning, use about 1,190 km. The real distance depends on the Chennai pickup door, the Pune or PCMC delivery door and the road corridor the vehicle takes.
Why map distances differ
Consumer map apps checked on 16 October 2026 showed car routes from roughly 1,130 km to 1,195 km, depending on the corridor. Their 20–25 hour passenger drive times are not goods transit times. Some corridors pass Solapur and others come up through Kolhapur and Satara, but these are alternatives and not a sequence. The operator allocated to your vehicle chooses the roads. Whether a goods vehicle may use a particular stretch, and how weather affects it, is checked at dispatch and not assumed.
Dedicated and shared clocks
| Vehicle arrangement | Planning window after dispatch | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Dedicated vehicle | 3–5 days | Closer control over the dispatch date; the delivery day is still not fixed |
| Shared vehicle | 5–7 days | Your goods travel with other consignments, so loading and unloading order matters |
Packing, loading and consolidation happen before the vehicle departs, so they come before the day-count starts. Your unloading slot at the Pune society is a separate booking. Cars and bikes move on a different carrier with their own receiving window.
NH48 and the road written into your booking
NH48 is one of the corridors in the mapping comparison; the same check also returned alternatives using NH716 or NE7 with NH48. The final plan follows your two addresses and the allocated vehicle. Ask which road approach the freight estimate covers and how a route change would be communicated, rather than treating a passenger-map option as a fixed truck itinerary.
Final Goods Address Release Card Before Dispatch
A hotel or serviced apartment is where you may sleep. It is not automatically an approved household-goods unloading point. Before dispatch, ALPM works from a release card for the household destination, and the quote stays provisional until the exact goods address and the plan on the card are accepted.
What the card holds
| Card field | What you record |
|---|---|
| Version and date | Which version of the card this is and the date it was filled |
| Final address | Building, wing, flat, street, locality and PIN |
| Goods gate and keys | The actual goods gate and the date the keys are available |
| Keyholder authority | Who holds the keys and may accept the goods |
| Floor, lift and fit | Floor, lift size and whether packed furniture fits the door and stairs |
| Stairs, parking and carry | Where the vehicle can stop and how far goods must be carried |
| Unloading slot, crew and room readiness | The approved unloading slot, available handling crew and ready receiving room |
| Inventory IDs and special items | Known carton IDs and any heavy, fragile or unusual pieces |
| Dispatch decision date | The date you will confirm that dispatch can be released |
| Last-update contact | The person who will give the last change before dispatch |
| Quote lines | Each extra line marked included, extra or not applicable |
How the card is used
The same approved card, quote and inventory go to the Chennai crew, the driver and the person receiving in Pune. If a field changes, a new version and date replace the old one, so everyone works from the same record.
If Your Pune Rental Is Not Ready: Options to Assess Before Dispatch
People often reach Pune for a job or a family move before the flat is handed over. The questions below are best settled before the vehicle leaves Chennai.
Wait for the door and keys
The simplest arrangement is to hold dispatch until the exact final door is known and the keys are ready. The quote stays provisional until then.
Essentials first, main load later
You can ask for a small essentials load to go first and the main load to follow. Each load needs its own inventory IDs, count and scope, your consent, a named receiver, and a separate rate and date. Do not book the same goods twice or assume the second load comes at no extra charge.
Assessed holding
If neither works, a permitted holding arrangement can be assessed with an actual operator. Agree in writing the location, availability, custody of the goods, visible IDs and condition on intake, access, duration, rate, exit and redelivery, and cover terms. Do not assume a free warehouse, a climate-controlled space or ALPM-owned storage.
Confirm where the goods can actually be received
In this hypothetical planning example, suppose you have a hotel stay in Hinjawadi near your workplace, but your final flat in Kharadi is not confirmed. A bed and fridge are not sent to the hotel by default. Do not assume the two localities are adjacent or priced the same. Keep the quote provisional and finalise either the actual door or an accepted holding arrangement before dispatch.
When Your Pune Address or Arrival Time Changes
Hinjawadi to Kharadi or PCMC
If the final home moves from Hinjawadi to Kharadi or to Pimpri-Chinchwad, ask for a written revision of mileage, access, crew slot, price and expected arrival. It is a fresh assessment and not an automatic reroute fee. Hinjawadi and Hinjewadi are two spellings of the same place, so a spelling change on its own is not a new endpoint.
Arrival time shifts
If the vehicle's expected arrival changes, re-check the keyholder, the gate, the lift and crew availability and room readiness. A backup receiver is used only if the gate, lift, crew and room are all available. Otherwise agree a new slot in writing, or an assessed holding arrangement.
A smaller vehicle for the last leg
A smaller vehicle is used only when it is needed, lawful and feasible. It also needs an actual operator, a permitted location, availability, a crew to unload and reload, the carry, custody, the IDs and condition of goods, and the local-leg cost stated once. It is not an automatic free city shuttle, and needs a permitted handling location.
Chennai Pickup and Pune and PCMC Delivery Access
Chennai pickup
ALPM's Chennai branch is at Senneerkuppam, and a pickup is planned around your actual street and building. Confirm where the vehicle can stop, how far the carry is from your door to the vehicle, and whether the society limits loading hours.
Pune and PCMC delivery
Give the exact building entrance, not the name of an employment area or an office as the drop point. Hinjawadi, Baner-Balewadi, Kharadi and Viman Nagar are geographic examples only, and each building has its own approach, lift and unloading arrangements. Ask your society directly about goods lift use, unloading hours and any move-in fee or deposit, and record the answer on the release card. A large vehicle may have to stop short of a narrow lane, and the extra carry belongs in the written quote.
Named Chennai pickup details
For OMR, Sholinganallur, Perungudi, Velachery, Tambaram or Medavakkam, include the project or building, lift opening and loading slot. For Porur, Anna Nagar, Ambattur, Poonamallee or Sriperumbudur-side enquiries, add the vehicle approach and the point from which goods are carried. If the pickup is an office rather than a home, name the asset-release contact as well.
Identify the Pune or PCMC destination
| Locality in the enquiry | Address detail to add | Receiving check |
|---|---|---|
| Baner, Balewadi or Aundh | Project, wing, flat, PIN and goods entrance | Allocated vehicle stopping point, lift fit and the society-approved slot |
| Kharadi, Viman Nagar, Hadapsar, Magarpatta or Wagholi | Actual home address, separate from an office or temporary stay | Keys, receiver, unloading crew and ready room |
| Wakad, Pimple Saudagar or Pimpri-Chinchwad | Complete building or house and the actual delivery entrance | Carrying distance, stairs or lift and any entry appointment |
| Chakan or Talegaon | Town, residential address or specific office unit | Whether the load is household furniture or separately assessed office/industrial goods |
Ask the property contact what move-in form, vehicle details, lift booking or deposit applies to that building. Put the confirmed answer on the existing release card; a locality name does not establish one rule for every society.
House Shifting, Furniture and Appliance Handling
Furniture
Start from the actual inventory, and check whether each packed piece will pass the door, the stairs and the lift at the Pune end. Beds and wardrobes are dismantled only where the design allows, and this is assessed per piece. Fittings go into labelled bags, and reassembly is agreed in writing. Not every modular or fixed piece can be taken apart or refitted.
Kitchen, books and fragile items
- Books go into small cartons so they stay liftable.
- Crockery is packed with cushioning dividers.
- Furniture edges get covers, and mattresses get a cover.
- A TV gets a rigid, cushioned pack, or a crate if assessed.
- If you pack some cartons yourself, ask how they will be treated and who is responsible for them.
Refrigerators, washers and air conditioners
Follow the maker's instructions for emptying, defrosting and drying a refrigerator. Washing machines need the transit restraints their model requires. Removing and refitting an air conditioner is work for a qualified electrical technician, and it is quoted separately.
Wet-weather handling
Keep fabrics, paper and wooden items dry before they are wrapped, and ask for sheltered handling where conditions allow. This depends on actual conditions on the day, and it is not a promise that goods stay waterproof.
Placing and unpacking
Putting boxes and furniture in the right rooms is different from unpacking their contents and removing packing material. Do the second only if it is agreed and priced.
Weather and the packing appointment
Check the forecast close to packing and dispatch, including the selected road corridor. Keep paper cartons, mattresses and wooden items dry before wrapping, with a workable carrying path at the Chennai door. If rain or access conditions change the appointment, tell the booking contact early.
For the Pune end, confirm a ready indoor room and the goods-lift slot near the revised ETA. Do not leave the load waiting outside while keys or help are being arranged. If a joining, possession or school date is fixed, share it early and ask about actual dispatch availability before fixing personal travel.
Car and Bike Transport from Chennai to Pune
Indicative charges
| Vehicle | Indicative charge |
|---|---|
| Standard bike | ₹6,500–₹7,500 |
| Standard car | ₹18,500–₹20,500 |
| Premium bike, SUV, luxury car or closed carrier | Assessed separately |
The final figure depends on the actual model, the carrier and the pickup and delivery points. Vehicles move on a separate carrier schedule and receiving window, so confirm the dates apart from your household goods.
Preparing the vehicle
- Take dated condition photos and note the odometer reading.
- Record keys and accessories handed over.
- Keep copies of the required papers.
- Follow the carrier's and maker's instructions on fuel and battery, since there is no universal level.
Papers and the two handover contacts
Have the RC, valid insurance, applicable PUC and owner details ready. Ask the booked carrier which copies and authorisation it needs; keep originals with you. Name the person handing over in Chennai and the person collecting at the destination. Registration and tax formalities for your intended Maharashtra stay are separate from carrier booking, so check the applicable process with the relevant RTO for your vehicle.
Physical Office Relocation from Chennai to Pune
An office is priced from its physical inventory and not by BHK size. List the desks, chairs, files and cabinets, and note which items are boxed. Computers are listed with asset IDs, with a release at the Chennai end and a named receiver in Pune.
Your own qualified IT person or vendor should back up data and disconnect network and server equipment. A move does not promise zero downtime. Industrial machinery is assessed separately, and the floors, lifts and working hours at both buildings should be confirmed before a date is fixed.
Employer-paid transfers and billing
Get the employer or business billing name, address, GSTIN where applicable and any approval reference before booking. Confirm whether it needs the estimate, packing list, consignment note, invoice and receipt, and whether vehicle transport needs separate paperwork. Keep the actual goods address consistent across these records, even if your reporting office is in a different locality. Reimbursement follows the employer's approval.
How the Chennai to Pune Move Runs
- Share a room-wise photo or video inventory, both addresses and preferred dates.
- Review access, agree shared or dedicated transport and receive an itemised written estimate.
- Confirm the final goods-address release card, packing slot, expected dispatch date and update contact.
- Pack and label in Chennai, then load against the approved inventory. Keep fittings with the furniture IDs.
- Confirm when the vehicle leaves Chennai; count transit days from this dispatch confirmation.
- Recheck the Pune receiving slot, keyholder, gate, lift, handling crew and ready room near the revised ETA.
- Unload, place goods in the agreed rooms, complete agreed assembly and record item IDs and visible condition.
Storage, Optional Cover and Written Terms
Storage
If storage is needed, ask for the actual operator, the location, availability, visible IDs and condition on intake, access, duration, rate, exit and redelivery. Rely on storage only after the actual operator, location and availability have been confirmed in writing.
Optional cover
If cover is offered, ask for the actual insurer and policy, the declared value, exclusions, deductible and how to report a loss. This sits alongside the carrier's own liability. It is not universally mandatory, and it does not mean full compensation.
Cancellation, valuables and unusual items
Advance, cancellation and rescheduling terms should be in writing before you pay, and not assumed to be free. Keep valuables, documents and medicines with you. For unusual items, ask for acceptance to be assessed before packing day.
Updates and the Outer-ID Handover Check
Keep identification readable on the outside
Clear wrap can leave an item's outline visible, but it may cover the marks you used to recognise it. A tall piece like this still needs a readable package label.
For Chennai to Pune shifting, put the item number and destination room on an outer label that stays with the package. If furniture has removable shelves or fittings, give their packages matching references. Avoid putting personal paperwork where it can be read through the wrap.
Send the receiver a short list linking each number to the item. That makes the outer-ID check useful even if you are not travelling with the vehicle or cannot attend unloading.
Updates
Agree one update contact and a window for updates. Ask for a dispatch confirmation, a revised arrival time if it changes, and a call to the Pune receiver before arrival. The method is whatever you agree, such as a call or message, with the available method confirmed for your booking.
Checking cartons at delivery
Check the outer IDs one by one against the inventory, and look at the visible condition of the goods at the same time. A matching count and intact outer packing do not establish the condition of closed contents. Record any exceptions on the receipt, report them promptly, and unpack fragile items soon.
