The small shared consignment figure applies only to a few items. It is not a price for a full home, and a large 4 BHK or a dedicated vehicle is assessed separately.

What the household base covers

For a household move, the base figure covers packing, loading at the Chennai address, road transport to Tirupati, unloading at the destination and any assembly agreed in advance. These are counted once in the estimate, so you should not see the same work charged again further down the quotation. A car or bike travelling with the household has its own base scope, which is set out in writing separately.

What is marked separately

Tax is shown separately. Optional transit cover, toll and parking, stairs, a long carry, crates, waiting time, a holding period, a second stop or transfer, technician work, unpacking of contents, material removal and storage are each marked on the quotation as included, extra or not applicable. Two homes with the same BHK label can land at opposite ends of a range. The label tells us the number of rooms. It does not tell us how much you own or how hard it is to reach.

Volume is the biggest driver. A 2 BHK with a few light pieces of furniture and a modest kitchen sits near the lower end of the range. A 2 BHK with large wardrobes, a heavy dining set, a full kitchen, books and many cartons fills more of the vehicle and needs more packing time, so it sits higher. A realistic list of bulky items and fragile goods is worth more to your estimate than the BHK label.

Access at both addresses

A working lift, a vehicle that can stop near the entrance and a short carry keep handling time down. Stairs, a long carry from the vehicle, narrow lanes and gated entrances with timed moving hours add effort. Tell us the floor, whether the lift is a service lift or a passenger lift, and where a truck can actually stop, at both ends of the move.

Load type and date

Sharing a vehicle with other consignments costs less but follows the vehicle's own schedule. A dedicated vehicle costs more and gives you closer control over when it is loaded and dispatched. Your preferred date also matters, because vehicle availability and the time we need for packing both depend on it.

Route, Distance and Delivery Days

Distance and route

The road distance from Chennai to Tirupati is about 150 km, and the exact figure changes with your pickup point and your Tirupati drop address. One illustrative approach is NH716 through Tiruvallur, Nagari and Puttur. Another approach passes through Periyapalayam and Nagalapuram before Puttur. If you plan a Tirumala visit around your move, keep the visit and household delivery as separate arrangements. Tirupati and Tirumala are linked by two separate ghat roads, one for going up and one for coming down. A hotel, temple or darshan booking is a personal visit plan. It is not a household goods appointment, and it does not tell a truck where to go.

The receiver and goods-door record

Before loading, we suggest a dated record that matches the approved quote and inventory with the Chennai crew, the driver, a named primary receiver and a named backup receiver. It should include the actual home or building, the flat or street, the PIN code, the goods entrance, the floor, the lift or stairs, the keys and permissions, and the full unloading and assembly slot. It should also note where the truck can stop, the carry path and the room each item belongs to. Your hotel or darshan date can be listed for reference, but it does not cause the goods to be dropped anywhere.

The receiver needs the authority to count the goods, note their condition, record exceptions and approve changes. That person must be available for the entire window, not only at the estimated arrival time.

A backup receiver is useful only if the keys, the gate and the lift, the crew access and the room are all ready. Otherwise, agree a written new slot or an assessed holding arrangement. The holding details to settle are the operator, location, availability, custody, visible identification, condition, access, duration, rate, exit and redelivery. Agree any waiting rate before the day, because we do not assume waiting is free.

A worked example

Suppose a family has a house in Tirupati town and has booked a Tirumala visit for the same morning the truck may arrive. The primary receiver will be away. The backup holds the keys but has no approval from the building for the lift slot. In that case the backup alone is not ready. The better plan is to arrange an authorised receiver and the building and lift slot before departure and reconfirm it as the arrival nears. The alternative is to agree a written new slot or a feasible, assessed holding arrangement. A darshan time is not an unloading appointment. Keep essentials with the family and set up basic beds and utilities if the house is ready.

If your goods destination is on Tirumala

If the actual goods door is on Tirumala hill, say so before the quote. The allocated operator then has to confirm the current authority requirements, whether the vehicle will be accepted and by what approach, whether the premises are available, the handling cost and the final room scope. A hotel or temple booking is not a freight permit or a truck arrival deadline. Confirm those requirements with the allocated operator before relying on a hill-destination quote. If a lawful, feasible transfer is needed, the operator confirms the permitted location, the crew for unloading, reloading and carrying, and the local leg cost once, with identification and the visible goods condition recorded.

A large 4 BHK or villa is assessed separately for either option.

Chennai Pickup: What to Settle Before Loading Day

Many delays on a Chennai move begin with access, not distance. Settling these points before the team arrives lets us match the vehicle and crew to your building.

• Whether the lift works and whether it can be used for moving, or whether goods must come down the stairs.
• Whether your apartment society allows trucks and during which hours, since some require advance permission or a deposit.
• Where the vehicle can stop and how far goods must be carried to reach it.

• Which furniture needs dismantling and which cartons you will pack before the team comes.

Share your location whether it is Poonamallee, Porur, Valasaravakkam, Thiruverkadu, Kattupakkam, Iyyappanthangal, Avadi or Ambattur on the western side, or Anna Nagar, Mogappair, T Nagar, Adyar, Velachery, Tambaram, Medavakkam or the OMR side. The pickup address affects the journey before the truck reaches the intercity road. Tirupati Delivery: Town, Renigunta, Tiruchanur and Tirumala

Give the full address and PIN code, the floor, whether a lift is available and whether the goods entrance is separate from the main gate. If your final delivery is on Tirumala hill, say so before the quote is prepared. That changes what the operator has to confirm, as explained in the next section.

Give the neighbourhood and the goods entrance

An enquiry may name Tilak Road, Gandhi Road, KT Road, Bairagipatteda, Balaji Colony, Alipiri, MR Palli, Korlagunta, Air Bypass Road, Karakambadi Road, Mangalam or Akkarampalli. Send the building, street and PIN as well as the area name. Check the actual vehicle stopping point and lift dimensions; neither an older street nor a newer apartment automatically tells us what access is available.

Campus, employer housing and other towns

If you are joining a college or employer, confirm whether its office address is also the address where your household goods belong. For allotted quarters, a hostel or a rented flat, ask the accommodation contact what furniture is supplied, what you can bring and who can receive it. A joining appointment does not reserve unloading space.

Enquiries for Chandragiri, Srikalahasti, Puttur, Nagari or Sri City need the precise destination and a separate availability and price check. They should not be entered as a generic Tirupati city drop. If you mean Tirumala itself, use the hill-destination checks above before relying on an estimate.

Documents for a Tamil Nadu to Andhra Pradesh Move

Keep your approved estimate, packing list, consignment reference, both addresses and receiver contacts together. Supply the booking copies requested and keep original personal papers with you.

Used personal and household effects are listed as exempt from the e-way bill requirement. That does not make every item in a truck a personal effect: commercial stock, office assets or other business consignments need their own applicable document review. Have your accounts team confirm the invoice, challan and any e-way bill requirements for business goods before pickup. Tax on the moving service is a separate question from this goods-document exemption.

For a car or bike, prepare the RC, insurance and applicable PUC information requested by the carrier, owner authorisation where needed, and condition photographs. If you will keep the vehicle in Andhra Pradesh longer term, check the registration and tax requirements for your particular vehicle with the transport authority. The transport quote does not itself complete an RTO process.

Ask whether optional transit cover is available, its price, the named policy, the declared value, the exclusions, any deductible and the claim reporting steps. Payment and changes

Ask how any advance and later payments are staged, and what happens if you cancel or reschedule. Get that in writing before you book, together with who can approve changes on the day.
