Packers and Movers Chennai to Surat Charges
These are indicative budget guides for normal household inventory, shared vehicle capacity and ordinary packing access. A dedicated whole vehicle or unusually large inventory is assessed separately. Confirm the final scope and payable figure in writing.
| Move type | Planning range | What decides the final figure |
|---|---|---|
| Few items or studio | ₹9,900–₹15,600 | Actual item count, packed size, weight, volume, charging basis and any minimum |
| 1 BHK | ₹16,700–₹30,500 | Furniture, appliances, cartons and access |
| 2 BHK | ₹20,000–₹35,500 | Furniture, appliances, cartons and access |
| 3 BHK | ₹26,000–₹45,000 | Furniture, appliances, cartons and access |
| 4 BHK or villa | Inventory-based assessment | Room-by-room list and vehicle choice |
| Office | Assessment from a physical inventory | Workstations, systems, files, fittings and any machinery |
What a household range covers
Each household range counts packing, loading, road transport, unloading and agreed assembly once. A vehicle is priced on its own base scope, written separately from the household lines.
What is marked separately on a written quote
Each of the following should appear on your quote as included, extra or not applicable:
- Tax
- Optional transit cover
- Toll and parking
- Stairs and long carry
- Crates
- Waiting time
- Holding of goods
- A transfer leg
- Technical work such as appliance or AC fitting
- Unpacking of contents
- Removal of packing material
- Storage
What moves a quote up or down
Heavy furniture, many fragile items, upper floors without a lift, a long carry from the vehicle to the door, a dedicated vehicle and tight dates tend to raise the figure. Flexible dates and a shared load tend to lower it. A large 4 BHK or villa can hold very different volumes, so a room-by-room inventory is what lets the load be assessed.
Choosing Dates for Chennai to Surat Shifting
Plan backwards from when someone can receive the goods in Surat. Leave room for packing and any shared-load consolidation before the 4–6 or 6–9 day transit window begins. A work joining date and the day your home is ready need not be the same, so keep your first-week bag outside the truck.
- Rain at pickup or delivery: check the forecast near your moving dates and arrange a sheltered carrying path where possible. Start with dry furniture and cartons; another layer of plastic cannot fix moisture already sealed inside.
- Festival and employer closures: if your dates are around Diwali or another holiday, confirm the receiver, society office and any separately booked shop or office will be available. Do not assume a workplace closure also closes every residential delivery.
- Month-end or a fixed lease date: ask about availability as soon as your inventory is ready and give alternative dates if you can. A weekday or mid-month move is worth comparing, but it is not a guaranteed discount or faster dispatch.
Chennai to Surat Distance and Route
Plan on about 1,600 km by road. A map planner shows roughly 1,564 km on a Mumbai–Satara highway option, 1,578 km on an NH 716 option and 1,599 km on an NH 48 option, so the figure moves with the corridor chosen. Your actual distance also depends on the pickup and delivery doors and on the corridor your vehicle operator selects.
An illustrative approach runs north through the Pune region, uses Mumbai-region bypasses, then continues through Vapi and Navsari into Surat. The operator selects the inland connections and bypasses for the allocated vehicle; this does not require a delivery or halt in central Mumbai.
What to ask about the route
- Which corridor will the operator use for your vehicle?
- Are any planned halts or consolidation points on the way?
- How will you be updated while the vehicle is in transit?
Do not convert a car driving time from a map app into a goods vehicle arrival day. Use the transit days after dispatch in your written quote.
Moving for work in Surat: first-week kit and actual goods addresses
Surat’s economy includes textile manufacturing and trade. If you are relocating for work, plan the items needed before the household truck’s delivery window.
Step 1: pack a personal first-week bag
Keep these with you, outside every carton:
- Devices and chargers
- Work clothes
- Appointment notes and work records
- Original and irreplaceable papers, with secure backups where suitable
- Personal care items and medicines
Step 2: use a dated goods allocation record
Ask for a dated record that matches the same approved quote and inventory used by the Chennai crew, the driver and the Surat receiver. Give each carton an ID tied to its destination.
| ID type | Meaning | What the record shows |
|---|---|---|
| H (home) | Household goods | Actual home address, flat, PIN, goods entrance, floor, lift, receiver, key and unload slot, carry and assembly |
| S (business sample) | Accepted, declared items only | Separately booked shop or office address, receiver, approved slot, scope and total |
When the address or the item list changes, issue a new dated version of the record.
A hypothetical example
Suppose you are sending the following goods, with both deliveries agreed before dispatch:
| IDs | Contents | Destination | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| H01–H12 | 12 home cartons | Vesu flat, with the actual building, street and PIN | Included in the household quote |
| S01–S02 | 2 approved sample folder cartons | A shop, only if booked with an actual address and an accepted receiver | Priced separately |
If you have a work appointment before the household estimated arrival, keep the approved essential kit with you, or book a separate carrier and use its accepted date window. That is not a promise of earlier arrival on the same shared truck. If sample approval is still pending, leave the sample cartons out, defer them or get a reply before loading, rather than adding them silently. A work address given only for reference is not a booked goods drop.
If you are shipping business items
Samples are not an automatic household extra, and they are not a blanket exclusion either. Carrier acceptance, packing, declared value, cover and paperwork are agreed separately. Stock, chemicals, dyes, liquids, machines and high-value goods are each assessed on their own.
Surat addresses
Whether the home is in Adajan, Vesu, Pal, Varachha or elsewhere, give the actual building, street, PIN and goods door. Confirm the society's entry, lift and parking arrangements with the association.
House Shifting, Few Items and Furniture Moves
A full household, one large piece of furniture and a few cartons need different packing and vehicle plans. Send room photos and an item list, including the larger pieces’ dimensions, before choosing the load mode.
Full household shifting
List beds, wardrobes, sofas, dining furniture, appliances and cartons room by room. Note glass panels, loose shelves and existing marks while the goods are accessible. The packing plan can then identify what travels whole, what is dismantled and what needs rigid protection. Keep the approved inventory at both ends; if you sell a wardrobe or add cartons before pickup, update the list and estimate before loading.
Few items and single furniture pieces
A bed, fridge or small set of cartons may fit a shared vehicle without paying for an entire truck. Count alone is insufficient: a tall wardrobe can occupy more space and handling time than several sealed cartons. Share packed or estimated dimensions, weight where known and access photos. Ask for the charging basis and any minimum, and confirm the dispatch date separately from the transit window.
Dismantling and assembly
Furniture is dismantled only where its design allows. Identify fixed carpentry and modular pieces in advance rather than assuming every wardrobe comes apart. Screws and fittings go into labelled bags tied to the matching item. At the Surat door, the agreed assembly and room placement should match the estimate; unpacking carton contents and removing materials are separate scope decisions.
Truck hire or a full packing-and-moving service?
A goods-transport or truck-hire price may cover the vehicle only. Compare it with the household package after adding the packing, labour, collection and delivery work you need. Send dimensions of the largest pieces and photos of the whole inventory so suitable truck capacity can be assessed. There is no fixed truck length that fits every 2 BHK; a lightly furnished flat and a home full of wardrobes and book cartons can need very different space.
Packing Method and Appliance Handling
The packing plan should name the protection for each vulnerable item, rather than use one material description for the entire home. Small cartons help keep book loads manageable; crockery needs individual cushioning and dividers. Furniture edges need padding, while mattresses need covers to keep their surfaces separate from the vehicle and other goods.
Glass, televisions and owner-packed cartons
Measure a television or glass panel with its proposed protective outer packing included. Rigid protection and cushioning should support the item during each handling stage; a crate is assessed where needed and priced explicitly. If you pack some cartons yourself, agree their acceptance and cover terms beforehand. Mark the room and contents category, and tell the crew about fragile contents rather than relying only on a sealed outer box.
Fridge, washing machine and AC preparation
Follow the refrigerator maker’s instructions for emptying, defrosting and drying. Fit washing-machine transit bolts or restraints if that model’s manual requires them. Keep the manual and removable fittings available; there is no single day-before or restart interval for every model. Arrange AC removal, refitting and electrical work with a qualified technician under a separate agreed price. Dry goods before wrapping, and discuss sheltered loading where access and weather allow.
Kitchen, pooja items and the first things to open
Separate heavy steel vessels from fragile crockery, use manageable carton weights and identify the kitchen boxes you will want first in Surat. Show idols, glass lamps and delicate framed pieces during the survey so cushioning, upright handling or a fitted case can be agreed item by item. Keep the small personal pooja kit you need immediately with your travel essentials, if suitable for your journey, rather than relying on a carton being unloaded before everything else.
Office Shifting from Chennai to Surat
Price a physical office move from counts of desks, chairs, cabinets, boxed files and computers. Tag assets by department or destination room, and name the person authorised to release them in Chennai and the receiver in Surat. Record which items belong to the business and which are personal; a household inventory does not automatically include stock or equipment.
IT release and setup
Your own qualified IT provider should complete backups and disconnection before equipment is handed to the moving crew. Agree the packaging for computers and monitors, keep asset IDs with their outer packages and schedule reconnection and testing separately in Surat. Server racks, specialised equipment and machinery need assessment of weight, dimensions and access rather than a standard desk-count price.
Office and home at the same time
If both are booked, keep separate inventories, destination doors, authorised receivers and handling scopes. Confirm which load goes to which building and what each receiving slot permits. Transport arrival and a fully operational office are different milestones, so plan the setup work around the delivery window.
Car and Bike Transport from Chennai to Surat
A vehicle may travel on a separate carrier, so its collection date and Surat receiving window can differ from the household truck.
| Vehicle | Planning range |
|---|---|
| Standard bike | ₹6,800–₹10,500 |
| Standard car | ₹11,000–₹23,100 |
| Premium bike, SUV, luxury car or closed carrier | Assessed separately |
The actual model, carrier availability, collection point and delivery address set the price. The quote should show the base price, wrapping, collection, delivery, loading, unloading, tax and cover as separate lines marked included, extra or not applicable.
Before loading
- Take dated photos of every side of the vehicle.
- Note the odometer reading, keys and accessories.
- Keep copies of the required papers.
- Follow the maker's and carrier's guidance on fuel and battery. There is no universal low-fuel rule.
- Confirm who receives the vehicle in Surat.
Ask whether the carrier is open or closed, because that changes price and protection.
Documents for Household, Office and Vehicle Transport
Keep the approved estimate, packing list, consignment reference and receipt together, with both full addresses and receiver contacts. Provide the identification or address copies requested for the booking and keep your originals with you.
- Car or bike: prepare the RC, insurance and applicable PUC information requested by the carrier, owner authorisation where needed, and dated condition photos. Record the keys, accessories and handover contacts.
- Employer reimbursement: settle the billing name and required supporting papers before the invoice is issued.
- Office goods or business samples: declare them separately and confirm the applicable invoice, challan or other movement documents for that consignment. Used personal household effects and commercial stock should not be treated as the same load on paper.
If you are keeping a vehicle in Gujarat longer term, check the applicable registration and tax requirements for your vehicle with the relevant transport authority. Transport booking and completing an RTO process are separate services.
Cover, Storage, Transfer and Loading-Only Requests
Optional cover
Optional cover is a separate policy with an actual insurer. Check the declared value, exclusions, deductible and how to report a claim, alongside the carrier's own liability terms. Do not assume a mandatory percentage or a full payout.
Storage
Storage applies only if you need it, and only when a confirmed operator and location are available. Agree the custody terms, how IDs and the visible goods condition are recorded, access, duration, rate, exit and redelivery. Do not assume free or climate-controlled storage.
Transfer
A transfer leg applies only if it is needed, lawful and feasible, with a confirmed operator and a permitted location. It adds unloading, reloading and carrying for that local leg, and its cost is counted once. Record the IDs and the visible goods condition, not the ID alone.
Loading-only
If you have your own vehicle and want loading help only, that is quoted separately with the actual responsibilities written down.
Chennai Pickup and Surat Delivery
Pickup in Chennai
The ALPM Chennai branch is at Senneerkuppam. Tell us your area, floor, lift and whether a large vehicle can reach the building, because narrow lanes and stairs change the plan.
Delivery in Surat
Share the full Surat address, the receiver's name and the delivery window in advance. Check lift booking, society rules and parking before the vehicle arrives.
Backup receiver
Name a backup receiver only if the gate, lift, crew and room will be ready for them. If not, agree a new slot in writing, or an assessed holding arrangement.
Tell us the Chennai pickup neighbourhood
Whether you are moving from Anna Nagar, Ambattur, Avadi, Porur, T Nagar, Velachery, Tambaram, Chromepet or the OMR side around Sholinganallur, send the building location along with the area name. A survey needs to include the goods entrance, floor, lift size and where the allocated vehicle can stop. In an older street around Mylapore or Triplicane, check the approach rather than assuming a large truck can reach the door.
Surat city delivery and nearby-town enquiries
For Adajan, Pal, Vesu, Piplod, Althan, City Light, Rander, Katargam, Varachha, Udhna or Sachin, give the society or building name and the full PIN-coded address. Ask the receiving association about its own unloading hours and lift permission; an area's name does not tell us every building's rules. Share any language preference for the handover when booking so the communication arrangement can be confirmed.
Kamrej, Kadodara, Olpad, Hazira and Navsari enquiries need their own destination and access details. A Surat city estimate does not automatically cover another town or a second drop. If your home and workplace are different, mark which address is for the household goods and which is only a contact address.
How a Chennai to Surat Move Runs
- Enquiry: you share the addresses, the move window and the items.
- Inventory and access: rooms, floors, lifts, vehicles and any business items are listed.
- Estimate: a written quote shows scope, vehicle arrangement, timing and separate charges.
- Approval: you approve the quote and the dated goods record.
- Packing, inventory marking, loading and consolidation take place before departure.
- Dispatch updates follow, and the unloading window is reconfirmed near the estimated arrival.
- Unloading, agreed assembly and handover finish the move.
Handover check
At handover, compare the IDs against the list and look at the visible condition of the matching goods. Intact outer packing and a correct count do not prove the contents are undamaged. Record any exception promptly, report it in writing, and unpack fragile items soon.
How to Compare Chennai to Surat Quotes and What ALPM Offers
Compare quotes on the same basis before choosing.
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Is the quote based on your actual inventory and street doors? | It records what is being priced and where |
| Is the vehicle shared or dedicated? | Timing and handling differ |
| What is the scope and the clock? | Packing, dispatch and unloading timing should be written |
| Which charges are separate? | Toll, stairs, crates and holding are common extras |
| What cover applies, and to which goods? | Terms and exclusions vary by policy |
| What is the written payable total? | It lets you compare quotes on equal terms |
What ALPM offers
ALPM is an independent packers and movers business with a Chennai branch at Senneerkuppam. Its process can be checked point by point:
- Quotes start from your inventory instead of a distance-only price.
- Written lines show what is included and what is charged separately.
- Guidance on shared versus dedicated is based on your items and dates.
- Household goods, vehicles and business items are kept separate.
Agree advance payment stages, cancellation and rescheduling in writing before you book.
Company billing and the registered business
ALPM's published GSTIN is 36FDRPM0957B1ZC. If an employer is paying or reimbursing your relocation, provide its billing name, GST details and required estimate format before booking. Check that the invoice, receipt and inventory refer to the same approved move. Business registration identifies the supplier; it does not replace checking your route, scope and agreed charges.
