Packers and Movers Chennai to Gurgaon: Charges by Home Size
The figures below are indicative guides for a normally packed household move from Chennai to Gurgaon with normal access at both ends, travelling as a shared or consolidated load. They are not a tariff, an invoice or a market average. What you pay comes from the written quote built on your actual inventory.
| Move size | Indicative guide | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| A few items | ₹14,000–₹22,000 | Priced from the count and size of items, with the packing and access scope agreed |
| 1BHK | ₹18,500–₹24,500 | A compact home with normal packing and access |
| 2BHK | ₹32,500–₹43,500 | Usual furniture, appliances and kitchen goods; the position in the range follows the inventory |
| 3BHK | ₹52,500–₹65,500 | More furniture, more cartons and larger appliances |
| 4BHK | ₹65,000–₹90,000 | Inventories differ widely at this size, so the quote is built item by item |
When the guide stops applying
A dedicated whole vehicle, a heavy inventory or a narrow delivery slot is assessed separately and should not be read against this table. The same goes for goods that need special handling beyond normal packing.
What moves a quote inside the range
- The number of heavy pieces such as wardrobes, refrigerators, sofas and dining tables, not just the BHK label.
- Floors, lift access and how far the crew must carry goods from the vehicle at both ends.
- How much the crew packs and how much you pack yourself.
- Whether the goods travel shared or on a dedicated vehicle.
- Your dates, and how flexible you can be around them.
Two 2BHK homes can sit at opposite ends of the range. A flat with a few light boxes is not priced like one with a full wardrobe set, a dining table and a stocked kitchen.
What a Chennai to Gurgaon Quote Should Spell Out
Base packing, loading, road transport, unloading and any agreed assembly should appear once, as the core scope. Everything else is where quotes differ, so ask for each line below to be written as included, extra or not applicable.
| Line | What to ask |
|---|---|
| Applicable tax | Is it added on top of the amount, and is it shown separately from optional cover? |
| Tolls and parking | Are they in the amount or charged as incurred? |
| Stairs, long carry, shuttle transfer | Which of these does your access need at each end? |
| Rehandling and waiting | What applies if the vehicle cannot unload when it arrives? |
| Crates | Which items need a crate, and is it assessed per item? |
| Contents unpacking | Is only room placement agreed, or unpacking of cartons as well? |
| Technical work | Who disconnects and installs air conditioners or other fixed appliances? |
| Storage | Is any holding needed, and under what written terms? |
| Optional cover | Is it offered, what does it apply to, and what is the premium? |
Confirm these lines before dispatch so the estimate and the agreed work at the Gurugram doorstep match.
Chennai to Gurgaon Distance and Road Route
Use about 2,200 km as the planning distance. Mapped road options between the two cities differ by a couple of hundred kilometres, depending on the corridor and on where the pickup and delivery doors are.
Corridors and connecting roads
Routes can use corridors built on NE4, NH16 or NH52 with connecting roads, and the operator decides the actual route for the vehicle allocated to your move. Do not read any single highway as promised or as running the whole way. Gurugram is served by NH48, and the final approach depends on your actual gate. Not every move needs to enter Delhi.
Passenger drive time is not delivery time
Online drive-time figures of roughly 37–47 hours describe a person driving a car. Goods move on a different clock that includes packing, loading, dispatch and unloading, which the transit section below separates.
Current vehicle orders
A Gurgaon address does not give a move an automatic exemption from any vehicle controls. Before allocation, and again nearer arrival, the operator checks the allocated vehicle against the orders that apply to the actual route, date and jurisdiction. The aim is a plan that follows the rules, not a way around them.
What to ask about GRAP before dispatch
GRAP is the Graded Response Action Plan used for air-pollution measures in Delhi-NCR. Its applicable actions depend on the current orders. Ask the coordinator to confirm the allocated vehicle's eligibility for the actual route and delivery date, and recheck if an order changes while the goods are travelling. A Gurugram address does not by itself settle vehicle eligibility. Share any revised arrival window with your society and receiver before changing their unloading appointment.
Household Goods: Furniture, Packing Materials and Appliances
Over about 2,200 km, goods spend long hours on the road and may pass through additional handling when the agreed service requires it, so packing choices matter more than on a local move.
Furniture counts and fit
Count bulky pieces rather than relying on the BHK label, and check that each will pass the doors, stairs or lift at both ends. Agree in writing which beds and wardrobes are dismantled and reassembled. Fixed or built-in carpentry is assessed separately and not assumed.
Materials matched to the items
- Books and heavy items in small cartons, so no carton becomes too heavy to lift safely.
- Crockery with dividers and cushioning.
- Furniture corners protected and furniture covered; mattresses in covers.
- Television and monitor screens in rigid, cushioned packing, with a crate if one is assessed for the item.
Crew-packed or self-packed
If you pack some cartons yourself, ask how owner-packed cartons are treated under any cover terms. Agree which fragile items need professional packing and how declared-value and owner-packed terms apply.
Appliances
Follow the manufacturer's manual for your model. A refrigerator is normally defrosted and dry before moving, and a washing machine may need its transit restraints fitted if the manual requires them. There is no universal waiting time that applies to every model. Disconnecting and installing air conditioners or fixed electrical items is work for a qualified technician and is quoted separately.
Unloading
Placing items in the right rooms and unpacking the contents of cartons are two different choices. Decide which you want and have each written down.
Part Loads, Luggage and Furniture-Only Moves
Students, people changing jobs and households sending only part of their belongings can compare a shared load with a dedicated vehicle. A part load travels as a smaller portion of a shared vehicle, so the shared planning window of 6–9 days after dispatch applies, plus consolidation time before it.
- Suitable for a few cartons, luggage, a bed, a wardrobe or a sofa, or a mix of these.
- Priced from the count and size of what you send, so list every item with approximate dimensions.
- Photos of the larger pieces help the estimate and the access check at both ends.
- Flexible dates are what keep a shared move economical.
Luggage and boxed items should be closed, labelled and counted at handover, which is covered in the handover section below.
Office Relocation from Chennai to Gurgaon
An office move is quoted from the actual inventory and not a BHK-style size. Physical scope means desks, chairs, cabinets, files and boxed computers.
- Label furniture and cartons by department or asset, with a release at Chennai and a named receiver at Gurgaon.
- Your own qualified IT staff back up data and disconnect network equipment. A long-distance move is not a zero-downtime exercise, so plan working days around the transit window.
- Share a floor plan for the new office so placement follows desks and not guesswork.
- Stock, bulk goods and heavy machinery are outside the household and office guides and are assessed on their own.
Car and Bike Transport from Chennai to Gurgaon
| Vehicle | Indicative guide | What decides the final figure |
|---|---|---|
| Standard bike | ₹6,800–₹10,500 | Model, engine size and the protection used |
| Premium bike | ₹9,500–₹14,500 | Make, weight and any extra protection |
| Hatchback | ₹18,000–₹24,000 | Model, carrier and dispatch date |
| Sedan or SUV | ₹22,000–₹32,000 | Size, carrier and schedule |
These are vehicle guides, not a share of a whole-truck price. The quote depends on the vehicle's condition, model, carrier and schedule.
Closed carriers
A closed carrier is assessed separately and is not automatically inside the figures above. Ask whether the carrier is open or closed, and for the price of each so you can compare like with like.
Handover record
- Dated condition photos of every side, taken at handover.
- Odometer reading and fuel level.
- Keys and accessories handed over, with a note of anything left inside.
- Required copies of vehicle documents.
- Battery and any other preparation, following both the carrier's requirements and the maker's guidance.
Schedule
A vehicle carrier runs on its own schedule, separate from the household truck, so confirm its dates on their own. Your own travel dates and any lease handover are separate again.
Vehicle transport papers and a long-term relocation
Have the RC, valid insurance, applicable PUC and owner details requested for the carrier booking ready. Keep the originals with you. A long-term move from Tamil Nadu to Haryana can also involve registration reassignment, NOC and road-tax formalities through the transport authorities. Check that process separately from transport: delivering the vehicle does not update its registration.
From Your Chennai Home to the Right Gurugram Building
Chennai pickup areas and preparation
For OMR, Sholinganallur, Perungudi or Velachery, send the tower, floor and goods-vehicle gate along with your room-wise video. For Tambaram, Chromepet, Porur, Anna Nagar, Ambattur or Avadi, give the same access information and the permitted packing slot. Your collection is planned from the actual Chennai door, with the city journey included in the schedule.
Decide what will move before the survey. If your Gurugram home is furnished, compare its available beds, wardrobes and appliances with your Chennai inventory. Ask for estimates with and without a bulky piece you are considering leaving behind, so that decision uses the actual transport and packing difference.
Gurugram locality names need building details
| Address area | Add to the booking | Why it helps |
|---|---|---|
| DLF phases or Sushant Lok | Exact phase, block, plot or tower, flat and goods gate | The locality name alone does not identify the unloading door |
| Palam Vihar | Block, house, floor, approach and staircase or lift measurements | Plan the largest furniture against your particular building |
| Dwarka Expressway or Sohna Road project | Project, sector, state, tower and actual entrance pin | Match the delivery to the confirmed stop described in the worksheet below |
| Manesar or another address outside the stated city endpoint | Full destination and gate before vehicle allocation | Assess that address instead of assuming the city-centre approach or price |
If your receiving address is actually in Delhi, use the Chennai to Delhi moving guide. Confirm the full address before comparing prices: Delhi Dwarka and a Gurugram project described by the Dwarka Expressway need different destination details.
Gurgaon, Sohna Road or Sohna Town? Confirm the Final Stop
Gurgaon and Gurugram are two names for the same city in Haryana. The confusion starts after that. Sohna Road is a landmark road and not the same as Sohna town. A project on the Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram is not automatically Delhi's Dwarka, which is a different stop in a different state. Approach, vehicle fit and cost follow your actual address, not the road name used in marketing.
| Label you use | What to confirm | What it affects |
|---|---|---|
| Gurgaon or Gurugram | City and state, sector, project, phase, tower and flat | Approach and unloading plan |
| Sohna Road | A map pin showing whether the door is on the road within Gurugram or in Sohna town | Vehicle fit and crew timing |
| Sohna town | Locality, landmark and goods entrance | Approach and appointment |
| Dwarka Expressway project | Whether the project is on the Haryana side, and the state | Which address and region the vehicle is planned for |
| Delhi Dwarka | Full Delhi address and state | A separate destination, assessed on its own |
A hypothetical example
This is an illustration and not a past job. A booking says only Sohna Road, but the map pin lands in Sohna town. The approach, load fit, crew and appointment time may all change, so ALPM clarifies the actual door and revises the quote before departure and before a vehicle is allocated. If it is only a clerical label correction and the actual door is unchanged, it is not an automatic reroute fee. If the real door, state, gate, carry or service changes, the change is assessed and the new price agreed first.
Gurugram Receiving and Building-Fit Worksheet
Fill this in for the Gurugram end and send it with your inventory photos. Photos and measurements from both the Chennai and Gurugram ends help the crew plan the carry.
| Field | What to write | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| City and state | For example Gurugram, Haryana | Fixes the destination |
| Sector, project name, phase | As on your allotment or society records | Locates the actual project |
| Tower, floor, flat | Full unit details | Sets the carry distance and lift use |
| Goods-entrance pin | A map pin at the gate goods vehicles actually use, not the main marketing gate | Decides the vehicle approach |
| Receiver and permission | Name, phone and any gate pass or society permission needed | Avoids a stalled vehicle at the gate |
| Permitted unloading window | The hours the building allows | Fixes the unloading slot |
| Builder floor | Stair turns, door widths and any lift, with photos | Crew size and dismantling decisions |
| High-rise | Goods-lift cabin size, rated capacity and reserved slot, and whether your largest furniture fits | Unloading order and timing |
| Vehicle standpoint to door | Estimated carry distance | Whether a long-carry line applies |
Not all builder floors lack a lift, and not all high-rises give the same access, so give the details of your own building and not an area-wide assumption.
Read-back before allocation
Ask the receiver to read the details back. The same version should appear on the estimate, the inventory and the driver delivery sheet before a vehicle is allocated or loading starts.
When Delivery Cannot Go to Plan: Last Leg, Holding and Storage
If the allocated vehicle cannot reach the gate
Sometimes the through vehicle cannot lawfully or practically reach the actual gate. The only workable answer is a lawful, feasible and assessed last leg, agreed before departure. It names the operator, the permitted location and its availability, the crews for unloading and reloading, the room-placement scope, and the price, counted once. Package IDs and condition are recorded at each handover and the cost is approved before the vehicle leaves Chennai.
It is not an automatic switch to a local truck or a roadside transfer by an unauthorised party. If the plan is not feasible, it is revised before loading. If current orders change near arrival, eligibility is rechecked and any altered plan is agreed before the vehicle enters the area.
If the receiver or the building is not ready
A backup receiver only helps if the gate, lift, crew and room are available at the time. If they are not, agree a new unloading slot, or a permitted and assessed holding arrangement. Holding is not free waiting and not an automatic warehouse.
Storage in writing
If goods need to be held, ask for the actual operator and location, availability, intake IDs and condition, access arrangements, duration, rate, exit terms and redelivery. Written terms are what turn a vague holding offer into something you can compare.
Handover: Package IDs and Condition
Count alone is a weak check. The same IDs should be matched at loading and again at delivery.
- At loading, each outer package gets an ID that is listed against the inventory.
- At delivery, the outer IDs are checked one by one, with visible condition noted for each package.
- Note anything visibly damaged before the crew leaves, on the delivery sheet.
Visible outer condition shows what the carton looks like. It is not proof that closed contents are intact, so open fragile cartons soon after arrival.
What stays with you
- Keep valuables, documents and medicines with you instead of packing them.
- Declare any unusual or restricted goods so the carrier can accept or decline them. Do not assume a universal rule applies to plants or pets.
- Ask for cartons to be returned only if that has been confirmed in advance.
Chennai Rain, NCR Winter and Your First Week After Arrival
A long move needs preparation at both ends. Keep the packing appointment, your own journey and the Gurugram receiving slot as separate dates, with essentials available if any one of them changes.
Loading during Chennai rain
In the October–December period, check the forecast close to collection. Identify a dry place for cartons and a protected route between the home and vehicle. Dry mattresses, clothes and wooden furniture before wrapping; an extra film layer cannot remove moisture already inside. Discuss a revised slot if severe weather affects the pickup or planned road corridor.
Arriving in Gurugram in winter or hot weather
For a winter move, carry warm clothes and bedding for the first nights rather than sealing all of them in the household load. Fog on the selected northern approach can affect travel, so use the coordinator's revised arrival estimate before calling the unloading crew or travelling to the receiving gate. In hot weather, keep medicines and heat-sensitive essentials with you and agree an unloading slot that the building permits.
Joining dates and flat possession
If your job starts before the shared shipment is due, keep your work laptop, charger, original papers and a small household kit with you. Confirm possession and a working lift before dispatch. For a month-end lease exit or festival-week move, ask about the actual packing and consolidation availability rather than assuming booking day is departure day.
Updates, Booking Changes and Optional Cover
Updates
Agree who receives updates and in what window. Ask for a dispatch record, a revised ETA if the plan changes, and a call to the receiver before the last leg.
Booking early, decluttering and changes
Booking early and decluttering before the inventory review usually helps the estimate and the choice of dates. For cancellation or rescheduling, ask for the actual written amount and terms. Do not assume a free policy exists.
Optional cover
If you want cover, ask for the actual insurer's policy, the declared value, exclusions, deductible and how to report a claim. It sits alongside the carrier's liability, which is a separate matter. Optional cover is not automatic full compensation, and there is no standard percentage or universal legal requirement to assume.
How ALPM Handles a Chennai to Gurgaon Move
Agarwal Logistics Packers and Movers (ALPM) is an independent business with a Chennai branch at Senneerkuppam and GST registration 36FDRPM0957B1ZC. A move runs in this order:
- Direct enquiry with both addresses, the mode you prefer and your dates.
- Photo or video inventory, plus an access review of both doors using the worksheet above.
- An itemised written estimate, with each line marked as included, extra or not applicable.
- An agreed update contact and window.
- Outer package IDs and visible condition checked at handover.
Timing is stated as a planning window and not a promise, and the Gurugram stop is confirmed in writing before a vehicle is allocated.
Comparing Chennai to Gurgaon Quotes Fairly
Give every mover the same inventory, mode, access details and both addresses, and compare written prices only. Anything else compares different jobs.
| Match this | A comparable quote shows | Warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| Inventory and mode | Your actual item list and a named shared or dedicated mode | A price given from the BHK label alone |
| Access at both doors | Floors, lift or stairs and carry noted for Chennai and Gurugram | Only one address discussed |
| Scope | Packing, loading, transport, unloading and assembly, with extras marked | A lump sum with no lines |
| Timing | A planning window counted from dispatch, with packing and unloading separate | One promised day with no conditions |
| Cover | Stated as included or optional, with what it applies to | A general assurance of protection |
