Avadi town, TNHB blocks and the HVF side

Label every desk, cabinet and carton with a department name and a number that matches a simple floor plan, so the other end can place each item without guesswork. Keep the fittings with the right set of panels
Once a unit is dismantled, several similar-looking panels can be easy to mix up. The individually wrapped pieces in this photo make a useful reminder: protection and identification are two different jobs.

Dismantling, assembly and technicians
Beds, wardrobes and tables that come apart can be dismantled and put back together as agreed furniture assembly. Fitted or built-in units may not go back together in the same form, so mention them early. Work that needs a brand technician or a tradesperson, such as AC removal and refitting, geyser connections, wall-mounted TVs and modular kitchen units, is scoped separately. Say who does it and write it as included or extra.
Storage between dates
When a gap opens between vacating and receiving, ask where the goods will be kept, who is responsible for them at intake and exit, how they are counted in and out, and what redelivery costs. Holding terms depend on the storage operator and location used, and free days are not assumed.
Optional cover
Optional transit cover is arranged through a provider, and its terms are the provider's. Ask which items are covered, how value is declared, what is excluded and how a claim is raised, and get that in writing before you accept. Cover changes the quote.

A 2BHK from ₹8,500 is the entry point for a modest inventory. A fully packed 2BHK with bulky furniture and awkward access sits above it. The figure is confirmed after the inventory and access are known.

Ask for the scope in writing
A low figure can simply mean a narrower scope. Ask who packs, what is dismantled, which vehicle is sent, whether unloading includes placing items in rooms, and which items from the extras list are in or out.
Check the access assumptions
The floor, whether there is a lift or stairs, and how close the vehicle can stand at both ends all change the work. A mover who never asks about them is guessing.
Settle ownership before the move

A carrier for a vehicle is confirmed separately and does not come automatically with a house move. Plan pickup and delivery dates for the vehicle on their own.
If your dates change
Tell us as early as you can. Rescheduling and cancellation are handled under the terms you agreed before paying, so ask for them first. If it rains or access is blocked on the day, a backup date saves a second round of calls.

Avadi, the TNHB areas, Paruthipattu, Pattabiram, Thirumullaivoyal, Kovilpathagai, Muthapudupet and Sekkadu are distinct addresses and not interchangeable delivery points. Give the exact colony, street and gate, not just the area name. A railway station, an industrial area or an office name is not an address on its own.

Work backwards from the quarters handover

Keep medicines, clothes, chargers and essential documents outside the load. If the new quarter is still locked, arrange the gap before pickup: an agreed extension at the old address or assessed holding with intake, exit and redelivery charges. A receiver can help once the property can actually be opened.
Move-Out Date vs New-Key Date: A Two-Date Plan
Most moves have two dates, not one. Date A is the last day you can occupy the Avadi address. Date B is the first day the new place can actually be opened. Your own reporting or travel date is a third date and is separate from the day the goods are dispatched. Settle Date A and Date B first, then book the pickup.

When a receiver actually helps
A receiver only helps if the new property can really be opened, with keys in hand or the owner's permission to enter. We cannot fix a key that is not available, and a receiver outside a locked door only leaves the goods waiting on a vehicle. If there is no access yet, the choice is between holding the goods, rescheduling the pickup, or an extended stay that the person who controls the home agrees to.
Keep your travel apart from the goods
If you must report to a new posting before the goods arrive, say so early. Goods can be dispatched on a different day from your own travel, provided someone is present at both ends. Holding is assessed on the goods and how long they are held, so agree the cost of holding, exit and redelivery before it starts.
Take, Leave, Return: A Sheet for Allotted Homes
People leaving an allotted or rented home often have a mix of belongings that are not all theirs. Before packing, sort every item into one of three buckets on a single sheet. It works for any allotted or rented home. It is a household sorting aid, not a special rule or an official procedure.
- TAKE: your own goods, which travel with us.
- LEAVE: fixtures and fittings that belong to the home and stay in place.
- RETURN: items that belong to an employer, landlord or institution, which you hand back yourself and we do not pack.
Confirm each third-party item with the owner before packing starts, and hand it back before loading day so it does not end up in your cartons. A plain item name on the sheet is enough. We do not collect employer records or official papers, so keep your ID, official files and similar documents with you.
Example: a family leaving an allotted Avadi flat
This is an illustration, not a past job. The family owns a steel bureau, two beds and about a dozen cartons, and is moving to a rented house in Ambattur or Pattabiram. The flat has a fitted cupboard that belongs to the allotment. The new keys arrive two days after they must vacate.
- Sort: the bureau, beds and cartons are TAKE. The fitted cupboard is LEAVE. A loaned item, if any, is RETURN and is handed back personally before loading.
- Dates: Date A is the vacate day and Date B is the key day, two days later.
- Decide the gap: extend the stay in the flat only if the person who controls it agrees, or pick up on Date A and use assessed holding until Date B, or use a receiver only if the new owner allows entry earlier.

Steel bureau
How a steel bureau is moved depends on its design, its condition and whether it fits through the doors and stair turns. Many are heavy one-piece units that are best moved whole and emptied, with doors secured. Others have removable shelves, doors or a detachable base. Pooja unit

Prepare appliances as each manufacturer's manual says, and arrange a technician where one is needed. Keep original documents, medicines and valuables with you rather than in the load.
Rain
If your move falls in a rainy spell, which is common during the northeast monsoon months, keep a backup date. Wrapping and cartons add protection but are no guarantee against heavy rain, and wet stairs and blocked lanes can slow loading and unloading.
