What Makes Shifting in Ramamurthy Nagar a Little Different
Narrow cross roads and parked two-wheelers
Many cross roads in Akshayanagar, NRI Layout and Raghavendra Extension are narrow, with bikes parked on both sides and cable wires hanging low. A 17 ft or 19 ft truck simply cannot go inside. In such cases we load your things into a small Tata Ace at your gate and take them to the big truck waiting on the main road. It takes a bit more time, but nobody's gate gets blocked and the neighbours don't come out complaining.
Old rental buildings with tight staircases
A lot of houses here were built as G+2 or G+3 rental buildings, with a staircase that has one sharp turn in the middle. A king-size cot or an L-shaped sofa often won't go around that turn. Our carpenter first tries to dismantle it. If dismantling is not possible, balcony access needs a separate assessment, building permission and specialist handling plan. We will tell you during the survey itself if your house needs this, so there is no surprise on shifting day.
Apartment society rules
Gated societies near Kalkere, Horamavu and the Outer Ring Road can have their own shifting windows and Sunday restrictions. Confirm the rules for your particular building. Some ask for the vehicle number and crew details a day before, and almost all of them want the lift walls covered. Once you get the rules from your facility manager, just share them with us and we will plan the day around them. We bring our own lift padding.
Traffic at KR Puram, Tin Factory and ORR
If you are moving towards Whitefield, Indiranagar or the city side, the truck has to cross KR Puram or Tin Factory. During the morning and evening office rush, that one stretch can easily take an hour. So we try to put the loaded truck on the road after the morning peak. It sounds like a small thing, but it is the difference between finishing your move by evening and finishing it at night.
Bangalore rain
Rain here usually comes in the afternoon, and in September and October it can be really heavy. Sofas, mattresses and wooden furniture get a layer of stretch film over the regular packing, and we keep a tarpaulin ready for the walk between your gate and the truck. If it is pouring, we wait for it to slow down rather than load things wet.

What Decides Your Shifting Cost in Ramamurthy Nagar

Bike starting figures are indicative, not a flat rate for all models. Vehicle size, packing or crating, carrier type and pickup/drop points affect the final estimate. Computers and glassware
Back up work files and photograph cable connections before disconnecting a workstation. Use suitable anti-static protection for electronics and cushioning around screens. Pack glasses individually with dividers, keep heavier kitchen items in smaller cartons and mark the room and fragile contents on each box.
Room-wise inventory
Number cartons and count them against the furniture and appliance list at loading and delivery. Label a first-night box separately so medicines, chargers, clothes and basic utensils can be found without opening every carton.
Invoices, Inventory and Choosing Your Mover
Compare written quotes against the same item list and building access. Check who handles packing, transport and destination unloading, what reassembly is included, and how damage reporting works. An inexpensive vehicle-only offer is a different service from a packed household move.
For an employer reimbursement, ask HR which invoice, payment proof, consignment note and inventory documents are needed before booking. Share billing details in advance; eligibility and tax treatment depend on the invoice and the applicable rules. Keep any purchased insurance policy and declared-value list with your move documents.
How a Typical Moving Day Goes
- The day before: We call to confirm the time and send the vehicle number and crew details, so you can pass them on to your society security.
- At the agreed arrival time: The supervisor and packing team reach your house. Kitchen items and fragile things are packed first, then clothes and books.
- Mid-morning: The carpenter dismantles cots and wardrobes. Loading starts once your society's shifting window opens, and the lift is padded before the first box goes down.
- On the road: The truck leaves after the morning rush. You can travel separately; the supervisor stays in touch on phone.
- At the new home: Every box goes to the room written on it. Cots and wardrobes are fixed back, the fridge and washing machine are put in place, and empty cartons are taken away.
A regular 1 BHK move usually gets over by afternoon, and a 2 BHK by evening. For a big 3 BHK or a villa, we sometimes do the packing one day before, so the actual shifting day doesn't get too long.
A Few Things to Sort Out Before Shifting Day
- Get written permission from your society for both the old and new building, and book the service lift if they ask for it.
- Defrost the fridge and drain the washing machine the night before.
- Keep jewellery, cash, important documents and medicines with you in a separate bag. Don't pack them with the household boxes.
- If you are a tenant, take a photo of the BESCOM meter reading on your last day and settle the deposit with the owner before the truck comes.
- Update your address for the gas connection, bank account and Aadhaar after you move. It is easy to forget once you start unpacking.
