Two homes with the same BHK size may need different space. Large wardrobes, many book cartons, fragile pieces, stairs and a long walk from parking to the door can change the work. A flexible date may give more choice, but a fixed discount should not be assumed.

What the Moving Quote Includes and What Is Extra

When you compare quotes from different movers, compare what is included, not only the final number. Set out the agreed household scope in writing:

• Packing material as per your item list – cartons, bubble wrap, stretch film, corrugated sheets and corner guards
• Packing, loading at Bangalore and unloading at Pune by our crew
• Freight in a closed container, with diesel and NH 48 tolls
• Dismantling and re-fixing of normal beds, tables and wardrobes
• Placing boxes and furniture room-wise and taking back the packing waste

Bangalore to Pune Route and Real Transit Time

Our trucks take NH 48 the whole way. From the Bangalore side the truck leaves via Tumkur Road and the Nelamangala toll, and enters Pune through the Katraj side. The distance is about 840–860 km depending on where you are picked up and dropped.

Route: Bengaluru (Nelamangala) → Tumakuru → Chitradurga → Davanagere → Hubballi → Belagavi → Nippani–Kagal corridor → Kolhapur → Karad → Satara → Khambatki Ghat → Shirwal → Katraj → Pune

How long does it actually take?

A loaded container truck does not run like a car. Speed limiters, toll queues, the Khambatki ghat and the driver's rest stops all add up, so the road part alone takes roughly 18–22 hours. Add packing and loading on day one and unloading in Pune, and a full home move with a dedicated truck usually completes in 2–3 days from the packing date. A shared (part-load) move is planned around 3–5 days because the truck has other consignments on the way.

Do not plan a full household around same-night delivery. Packing time, safe driving breaks and the Pune receiving slot need to be included alongside the road journey.

City entry timings

Heavy vehicles have entry restrictions in both cities during peak hours. We plan the departure time from Bangalore so that the truck reaches Pune when it is allowed to enter and when your society allows unloading, instead of waiting on the highway outside the city.

Which Truck Size Fits Your Inventory?

The truck size decides a big part of your freight cost, so it is worth getting it right. This is what usually works for an average home. A home with lots of books, a piano, a big wardrobe or a gym set may need one size up.

A dedicated vehicle reserves the booked space for your goods and is useful for a full home or tighter receiving date. Shared transport suits cartons, a student room, a small household or a bike with luggage when consolidation time is acceptable.

Few Boxes, Bachelor Luggage and Small Moves

Not everyone moving to Pune has a full house to shift. Many people coming for a new job have a bed, a study table, a monitor setup, a few suitcases and some cartons. Hiring a full truck for this makes no sense.

For such small moves we use part-load. Your items are packed, labelled with your name and count, and loaded in a shared closed container going to Pune. It takes a few days more than a dedicated truck, but the cost comes down a lot. The same works if you are sending only a bike, or a bike with some boxes.

Along with homes, we move small offices and team setups on this route – workstations, monitors, servers in racks, office chairs, files and pantry items. Pune Society Permission, Parking and Service Lifts

At Hinjewadi, Wakad, Baner, Kharadi, Magarpatta and other apartment areas, get the actual society’s move-in rules before fixing delivery. Buildings such as large townships around Hinjewadi and Hadapsar may require advance notice, service-lift booking and protection for lift walls and floors.

Share the tower, gate, floor, lift dimensions and parking distance. Ask management about any deposit or lift fee, Sunday restrictions and approved unloading window; these are building rules, not one citywide 10 AM–6 PM policy. If the main truck cannot reach the tower, include any smaller-vehicle transfer and carrying charge in the plan.

Item-Based Packing for the NH48 Journey

Match protection to the item and keep the vehicle load stable. Dry furniture and mattresses before sealing them in protective film; outer wrapping cannot correct damp packing.

• Furniture and appliances: suitable non-abrasive padding, corrugated protection and reinforced corners.
• Monitors, TVs and sound systems: fitted screen/corner support, strong boxes and an assessed crate where the size or fragility requires it.
• Glassware and kitchen items: individual cushioning and strong cartons; keep heavy vessels separate from fragile pieces.
• Adjustable desks, beds and wardrobes: assess dismantling, protect controls and panels, and bag fittings with matching item numbers.
• Heavy pieces: suitable restraint and weight distribution, with fragile cartons clear of crushing loads.

Drain and dry appliances before packing. Arrange correct manufacturer-approved transit bolts or restraints for a front-load washer, and follow standing-time and reconnection instructions at Pune.

Bike and Car Transport Rates to Pune

Compare the actual model, carrier and loading/delivery points. Separate vehicle transport may arrive on a different day from household goods.

Record existing marks, odometer and fuel with photographs before handover. Remove personal belongings and loose accessories. Follow the booked carrier’s fuel, battery and EV instructions for the model; do not rely on a single fuel quantity for every bike or car.

Karnataka-to-Maharashtra registration planning

For a long-term move with a Karnataka vehicle, check the applicable NOC, registration reassignment, Maharashtra road-tax and lender-consent process with the registering RTO and the relevant Pune or Pimpri-Chinchwad office. Keep RC, insurance, PUC, identity and address records ready.

Ask about any eligible Karnataka tax refund and the rules for a BH-series vehicle or a temporary posting. Keep transport receipts, but remember that transporting the car or bike does not itself complete these formalities.

Household Papers and Employer Reimbursement

For your household goods, the paperwork is simple. Used personal household effects have different documentation treatment from commercial goods. Confirm the requirements for the actual consignment before dispatch. What travels with the truck is:

• Our consignment note (bilty / LR) with your name and both addresses
• The numbered packing list of all cartons and items
• A self-declaration that the goods are your used household items and not for sale
• A copy of your Aadhaar or any government photo ID

For a bike or car, we also need copies of the RC, valid insurance and PUC.

If you are sending new, unused goods or business stock along with the household items, tell us in advance. Those may need an invoice and an e-way bill, and we will guide you on it.

For a company or government transfer claim, share the required billing fields and document checklist before booking. Retain the GST invoice, lorry receipt, signed inventory and payment receipts, plus the policy copy if booked. Employer approval depends on its rules.

Storage When the Pune Flat Is Not Ready

It happens quite often on this route – the Bangalore lease ends on the 30th but the Pune flat will be ready only by the 10th, or you are staying in company accommodation for the first few weeks. In such cases discuss available storage before dispatch and agree the revised delivery plan.

Goods stay in the same packing and with the same carton numbers, so nothing gets mixed up. Storage is charged per month based on volume and is written in the quote. Agree the location, duration, handling, insurance and redelivery charge before authorising it.

From Bangalore Survey to Pune Setup

1. Survey: show the room-wise inventory, fragile items and both buildings’ access.
2. Written booking: agree vehicle/shared space, scope, total, packing date and delivery window.
3. Packing: label cartons and dismantled fittings, record existing condition and sign the inventory.
4. Loading and dispatch: check the vehicle, restraints and any sealing record; retain the consignment number and coordinator contact.
5. Transit: agree updates and who informs the receiver if the window changes.
6. Delivery: count and inspect items, record any issue promptly, and complete agreed room placement, furniture refitting and waste removal.

Delivery in Pune: Check Before Signing

1. Check the vehicle and any recorded seal against your dispatch record before unloading.
2. Count the cartons against the packing list as they come off the truck.
3. Open and check the TV, fridge, washing machine and glass items before the crew leaves.
4. If anything is damaged or missing, write it on the delivery receipt and take photos. Do not sign "received in good condition" without checking.
5. Follow the fridge manufacturer’s standing-time guidance before switching it on.

Transit Insurance and Damage Reporting

Transit insurance is optional. Get the actual insurer, declared goods value, premium, covered risks, exclusions, excess and claim process in the issued policy before dispatch. An insurance fee on a booking slip is not a substitute for the policy, and no free-cover offer is assumed.

If an item is missing or damaged, note it on the delivery receipt, photograph the item and packing, and report it promptly through the agreed contact. Retain the inventory, invoice and policy for assessment under the issued terms.

Booking, Preparation and Date Changes

Agree the advance, balance-payment stages, payment channel, receipts and cancellation or rescheduling terms in the written booking. If the date changes, contact the coordinator early; a free date change is not assumed without the actual booking terms.

• Before the survey, declutter and list what is actually being moved.
• Arrange Bangalore society clearance, lift, parking and landlord handover.
• Inform the Pune receiving society, arrange keys and book the unloading slot.
• Clean and dry appliances, label accessories and keep valuables, documents, medicines and essential laptops with you.

Monsoon and moving dates

Items That Cannot Go in the Moving Load

For safety and legal reasons, please keep these out of your packing: LPG cylinders (even empty ones should be handed over or carried separately as per your gas agency's process), petrol or diesel cans, paint thinners, firecrackers, acids and other flammable or corrosive things. Cash, jewellery, important documents and your laptop are better kept with you.
