Bangalore to Ahmedabad shifting charges (2026)

Honestly, "per BHK" is only a rough guide. Two 2 BHK flats can have very different loads – one family has a sofa set, a double-door fridge and a full kitchen, another has just a bed and a few boxes. What we actually charge depends on how much space your goods take in the truck, whether you want a truck only for yourself, and how easy it is to load and unload at both ends.

What is included in the quote

• Packing at your Bangalore home, loading, transport and highway tolls
• Unloading, unpacking and putting back beds and basic furniture in Ahmedabad
• LR (bilty) and GST invoice

What can add to the cost

• Assessed stair carries at either end, based on floor, item weight and landing turns
• Truck can't come near the building and goods have to be carried a long way
• Wooden crate for a marble mandir, a big TV, glass top or a piano
• AC uninstall and reinstall (we can arrange a technician, charged separately)
• Transit insurance, if you take it
• Storage, if your Ahmedabad flat is not ready

Timing also matters. March to June is the busiest time on this route because of school admissions and appraisal-time transfers, and trucks get booked out. If your date is flexible, a move in July–August or after Diwali is usually easier to schedule. Try to book at least 7–10 days in advance.

The written quote should record the inventory, access, included work, GST treatment and final payable amount. If inventory, access or scope changes – say, you decide to add a second fridge or an extra almirah – we will tell you the difference before loading it, not after delivery.

Shared truck or dedicated truck – which one should you take?

Take a shared truck if you are moving a 1 RK, a small 1 BHK or just some boxes and a bike, and a few extra days don't bother you. Your goods travel with other customers' goods, separated and marked, so the cost is lower. The delivery date is given as a window, not a fixed day.

Take a dedicated truck if you are moving a full 2 BHK or bigger, have a joining date to meet, or have a lot of fragile things. The truck carries only your goods, has a separately agreed dispatch and receiving window. Confirm whether any local transfer is planned; do not assume guaranteed arrival on a chosen day.

The route your goods take

The truck leaves Bangalore on NH-48 via Tumakuru, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Hubballi and Belagavi, then enters Maharashtra and goes through Kolhapur, Satara and the Pune bypass. From there it goes past Thane, enters Gujarat at Vapi, and continues via Valsad, Surat, Bharuch and Vadodara. The final approach may use the Vadodara–Ahmedabad Expressway where permitted and suitable for the assigned vehicle, after which the truck takes SP Ring Road or SG Highway depending on your area.

Two things can slow this route down. In July and August heavy rain on the ghat sections in Maharashtra and the Vapi–Surat stretch sometimes causes jams, so agree moisture protection and covered handling, and allow flexibility in the receiving slot. And around Navratri and Diwali, highway traffic into Gujarat goes up. We'll tell you upfront if your date falls in one of these periods.

Pickup in Bangalore, delivery in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar

Bangalore pickup

We pick up from all parts of Bangalore – Whitefield, Marathahalli, Electronic City, HSR Layout, Koramangala, Bellandur, Sarjapur Road, BTM, JP Nagar, Jayanagar, Kanakapura Road, Indiranagar, Hebbal, Hennur, Yelahanka, Devanahalli, Malleshwaram, Rajajinagar and Yeshwanthpur.

Most gated societies in Bangalore allow shifting only in fixed hours and want the lift protected. Please check your society's move-out rules and book the service lift a few days before. Where a big truck can't enter the area during the day, we load in a smaller closed vehicle first and shift to the main truck at the agreed transfer point; include any shuttle handling in the quote.

Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar delivery

We deliver across Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, including:

For a tower in Bopal, Shela or the SG Highway belt, check gate access, basement clearance and the service-lift slot. A smaller delivery vehicle or longer carry may be needed; assess it in advance. In the old city, where lanes are narrow, the last part is often done by hand.

GIFT City office or a home in Gandhinagar?

GIFT City is between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, but an office address there is not the same receiving point as a home in Kudasan, Raysan, Chandkheda or another society. Give the residential tower and gate separately from the workplace. For an office delivery, confirm goods entry and the authorised receiver.

Sanand and Changodar also need the exact endpoint and approach in the quote. In an older narrow-lane home, send access photos and measure the largest items before accepting a large-truck plan.

A few things specific to moving into Gujarat

Settle these points before packing rather than discovering them when the vehicle arrives.

• Restricted goods: do not pack liquor, fuel, LPG cylinders or other restricted/hazardous items in the household consignment. Check any permit-related question with the relevant authority; do not assume sealed bottles are accepted by the mover.
• LPG/PNG: ask your distributor for the current transfer or surrender procedure and required documents. Do not promise a new connection or deposit treatment without the distributor’s terms.
• Vehicles: carrier paperwork and long-term registration are separate. Check the current Gujarat RTO, tax and any lender requirements for your vehicle and length of stay, including applicable NOC/reassignment procedures.
• Heat-sensitive items: carry medicines, important documents and valuables yourself. Discuss candles, delicate finishes, perishables and plants before booking; do not assume plants are accepted for a multi-day closed load.

How we pack for a 1,500 km trip

Packing should suit the items even on a local move. On a four-day highway trip, everything shakes and rubs for hours together, so we pack in layers:

• Furniture – foam sheet on polished surfaces, then bubble wrap, corner guards on all edges, and stretch film on top so dust and moisture don't get in.
• Kitchen and glassware – each item wrapped separately and packed upright in strong cartons with dividers.
• Fridge, washing machine, TV – follow the manufacturer’s preparation, transit-fitting and restart instructions; assess television protection using serviceable original packing or suitable cushioning/crating.
• Mandir, idols, big mirrors, glass tops – assess whether a suitable crate and protective support are required; agree the scope before moving day.

Every carton is numbered and marked with the room name. You get a copy of the list, and in Ahmedabad you can tick off each number as it comes off the truck.

Car and bike transport from Bangalore to Ahmedabad

Driving your own car 1,500 km means two long days on the road, fuel, tolls, a hotel night and wear on the tyres. Compare a carrier quote against those total costs, and you can fly down with the family.

What you need to keep ready

• Copy of RC, valid insurance and PUC
• Copy of your ID
• Follow the carrier’s stated fuel and battery requirements
• Remove loose valuables and belongings; agree FASTag handling for any driven leg

Before loading, we note existing scratches and the odometer reading with photos in front of you. You check the same at delivery.

Household, Office and Small-Load Service Scope

For a full home, agree packing, loading, transport, unloading, furniture placement and any refitting before pickup. For a few cartons or a bachelor setup, compare shared space and its dispatch window instead of a full-home package.

For an office transfer to Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar or an industrial endpoint, prepare an asset list and authorised receiving contact. Back up devices; IT setup, machinery, laboratory items and commercial stock need separate assessment. Used household effects and business goods should not be treated as one documentation category.

Booking starts with both addresses and a room-wise inventory, followed by a survey and itemised written quote. Bills for company and bank reimbursement

If your employer is paying for the move, you'll need proper papers. We give:

• LR (bilty / consignment note) with our GST number

Acceptance depends on the employer’s reimbursement rules and required documents. Some have their own format, so it's a good idea to ask your HR or admin for the claim checklist and share it with us before the move. Agree the applicable invoice and consignment-document details before dispatch.

Transit insurance – what it covers and what it doesn't

If selecting transit insurance, ask for the insurer, premium, declared-value basis, covered events, exclusions, deductible, claim deadline and required documents before dispatch. A transport price or declared value does not establish free cover or a guaranteed payout.

Keep the inventory, condition photos, value evidence where available and policy schedule. Note visible damage or missing items on the delivery receipt and notify the agreed contact promptly. Any survey, liability assessment and settlement follow the applicable policy or complaint terms.

Moving checklist: Bangalore to Ahmedabad

2 weeks before

• Decide what you're not taking – sell or give away old furniture now, not on packing day.
• Inform your society and book the service lift for the shifting day.
• Get the video or home survey done and lock the date with us.

1 week before

• Surrender the gas connection and get the Termination Voucher.
• Close or shift broadband, electricity (BESCOM) and water bills, and take a final reading.
• Ask your HR for the reimbursement document list.
• Check your Ahmedabad society's move-in timings.

1–2 days before

• Prepare the fridge and other appliances according to their manuals.
• Keep jewellery, cash, documents, medicines, laptops and chargers in a separate bag that travels with you.
• Pack one small bag with essentials for the full planned delivery window, since the truck reaches after you.

On shifting day

• Stay home while packing happens and check the packing list before you sign.
• Note down the LR number and the truck number.
• Do one last walk through every room, loft and balcony before the truck leaves.
