Packers and Movers Delhi to Panipat: Charges, Truck Sizes and Moving Plan
Moving from Delhi to Panipat involves more than a short NH-44 drive. A 2 BHK budget is about ₹7,000–₹10,500 for a shared load or ₹11,000–₹16,000 for a dedicated vehicle, depending on inventory and access. A compact dedicated move may finish the same day; allow 1–2 days including packing where needed.
Use about 95 km as a general route reference and calculate the actual door-to-door distance. This guide covers truck choice, packing, Delhi vehicle-entry planning and delivery into Panipat’s residential sectors, older lanes and textile or industrial areas.

Delhi to Panipat Route at a Glance
| Detail | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Distance | About 95 km as a general Delhi–Panipat reference; calculate the truck route between your exact pickup and delivery addresses. West/South Delhi, NCR pickups and refinery-side deliveries can add distance. |
| Main road | NH-44 (GT Karnal Road) via Mukarba Chowk, Singhu–Kundli border, Murthal and Samalkha |
| From West / South Delhi | The opened UER-II corridor offers a connection towards NH-44 at Alipur for suitable West/South-West Delhi pickups; choose the permitted approach for the assigned goods vehicle. |
| Truck driving time | 2.5 to 4 hours, depending on where in Delhi you start and the traffic at the border |
| Best time to load | A building-approved slot that also fits the assigned vehicle’s current road permissions; early morning or previous-day packing may suit some moves. |
| Typical delivery | A compact dedicated load may finish the same day if packing, road access and unloading slots align. Allow 1–2 days with packing for larger loads; shared-load planning is normally 1–2 days from pickup, subject to the confirmed dispatch slot. |
Delhi to Panipat Shifting Charges
Use these ranges as a moving-budget guide, not a record of past customer bills. The final figure depends on how much stuff you have, which floor you're on and whether there's a lift, how far the truck has to park from your door, and whether you want full packing or only loading and transport.
| What you are moving | Usual vehicle | Dedicated truck | Shared truck (part load) |
|---|---|---|---|
| A few items / single room / PG luggage | Tata Ace or pickup | ₹5,500 – ₹7,000 | ₹3,500 – ₹5,000 |
| 1 BHK | 14 ft truck | ₹8,500 – ₹12,000 | ₹5,500 – ₹8,000 |
| 2 BHK | 14–17 ft truck | ₹11,000 – ₹16,000 | ₹7,000 – ₹10,500 |
| 3 BHK | 19–20 ft container | ₹15,000 – ₹22,000 | ₹9,500 – ₹14,000 |
| 4 BHK / independent house | 22–24 ft container or two trucks | ₹20,000 – ₹32,000 | ₹13,000 – ₹18,500 |
Vehicle sizes in this table are indicative. The surveyed volume, payload limit and loading access decide the vehicle; a BHK label alone does not. Confirm which packing, labour, toll, fuel, refitting and tax lines are included in the total.
A dedicated vehicle carries your load without waiting for consolidation; allow 1–2 days including packing, with same-day completion possible for a compact move when both buildings and the road schedule allow. A shared vehicle combines separately labelled consignments; use 1–2 days from pickup as a planning window and get its dispatch and delivery window confirmed before booking.
Packing and transport scope to confirm in the quote
- Packing material (cartons, bubble wrap, stretch film, corrugated sheets for furniture)
- Packing, loading, unloading and unpacking labour
- Truck rent, diesel, driver charges and NH-44 toll
- Dismantling and refitting of beds and wardrobes that come apart
- GST, shown as a separate line on the bill
What is usually charged extra
- Optional transit cover: ask for the provider, premium, declared-value basis, exclusions and claim process
- AC uninstallation and installation, and gas refilling if it's needed
- Stair carrying where a suitable goods lift is unavailable; agree the floors and labour scope
- A long carry, when the truck has to park far from the building because of narrow lanes, which is common in older parts of Delhi and in Panipat's Kila and Insar areas
- Storage, if your Panipat house isn't ready on the day
Ask for the quote on WhatsApp or in writing, with the items listed. A phone-only price without an inventory or access details is difficult to compare with a surveyed estimate.
Which Truck Do You Actually Need?
A lot of the overcharging and damage on short routes comes from the wrong truck size. Too small, and things get stacked badly or a second trip is needed. Too big, and you're paying for empty space.
| Vehicle | Illustrative load to assess | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Tata Ace / chota hathi | 15–20 cartons, a single bed, study table, small fridge | Students, PG rooms, bachelors |
| Pickup (Bolero / Dost type) | A little more than a Tata Ace, plus a two-wheeler | Single room with a bike |
| 14 ft truck | 1 BHK with fridge, washing machine, double bed and one almirah | 1 BHK, light 2 BHK |
| 17–19 ft truck | 2 BHK with sofa set, dining table and two wardrobes | Full 2 BHK |
| 20–24 ft closed container | 3 BHK, or a 2 BHK with a lot of furniture | 3 BHK, 4 BHK, houses |
These examples are not load-capacity guarantees: bulky furniture, carton dimensions and the vehicle’s legal payload can change the choice. If you're not sure, send us a short video of each room on WhatsApp. Five minutes of video tells us more than a long phone call.
Bike and Car Transport from Delhi to Panipat
Since the distance is short, many people ask whether they should just drive the car or ride the bike themselves. If you're comfortable on NH-44, that's often the cheaper option. Transport makes sense when you're moving the whole house on the same day, you don't want to make the trip twice, or the vehicle is new or expensive.
| Vehicle | How it's moved | Approximate charges |
|---|---|---|
| Scooty / bike | With your household goods, or in a separate pickup | ₹2,500 – ₹4,500 |
| Hatchback / sedan | Open car carrier or single-car trailer | ₹6,000 – ₹10,000 |
| SUV / premium car | Closed carrier on request | Quoted after seeing the car |
Before handover, photograph the vehicle, record existing marks, remove loose belongings and keep the RC and ID copies required by the carrier ready. Follow the vehicle maker’s and carrier’s fuel/battery instructions; mirrors or other parts should be adjusted only if needed and safely handled. Agree upright restraint, wrapping and loading method before dispatch.
Moving your Delhi vehicle to Haryana permanently
If the move is permanent, check the Delhi and Haryana transport authorities’ current NOC, registration, tax and address-update requirements for your vehicle. Eligibility and paperwork depend on registration type, length of stay and ownership; the transport booking itself does not complete these formalities.
One more thing: Panipat also falls in the NCR, so if your car is an older diesel or petrol model, find out what the age rules allow before you spend money shifting it.
Packing and Moving-Day Plan for Delhi to Panipat
Use this as a planning sequence, not a fixed crew appointment. Packing a furnished home, loading and unloading take longer than the highway drive. We agree the work around your inventory, vehicle permissions and access at both buildings.
Compact room or lighter household load
- Complete the inventory and both buildings’ lift, gate and parking arrangements before moving day.
- Pack fragile and kitchen items, protect furniture and load only after the vehicle and dispatch slot are confirmed.
- Allow roughly 2.5–4 hours for the road leg in ordinary conditions, plus loading, stops and delivery access. Same-day completion is possible only if the whole sequence fits.
- At Panipat, check item counts and visible condition, then complete the unpacking or furniture refitting included in the agreed scope.
Heavily furnished 2 BHK, 3 BHK or larger home
Plan packing as a separate stage and keep a 1–2 day window for the full dedicated move where needed. Dispatch follows lawful road access; driving at night does not override restrictions. Keep essential medicines, clothes and a first-night bag with you until delivery is complete.

Things That Are Specific to the Delhi–Panipat Route
Delhi no-entry timings for goods vehicles
Delhi Traffic Police doesn't allow medium and heavy goods vehicles on city roads during certain hours of the day. This is why loading time matters so much on this route. We plan the loading according to the vehicle size and the current timings, so the truck isn't standing at the border for hours.
BS-VI rule for trucks coming into Delhi
For a truck arriving from Panipat to collect in Delhi, check its registration, fuel/emission class and eligibility under the current CAQM and traffic orders. Restrictions and exemptions can change, including during GRAP. Ask for the assigned vehicle details before pickup; a night departure or a household load is not an automatic exemption.
Winter pollution restrictions and fog
From November to January, GRAP restrictions in Delhi can tighten truck movement at short notice when the air quality gets bad. Dense fog on NH-44 between Sonipat and Panipat in December and January also slows trucks down, especially early in the morning. If you're moving in these months, keep a day's buffer and don't fix the move for the same day you have to join a new job.
Weekend traffic near Murthal
The Murthal dhaba stretch gets crowded on weekend evenings and holidays. Weekday moves are generally smoother on this route.
Commercial and Textile Shifting to Panipat
Panipat runs on textiles: handloom, blankets, recycled yarn, bedsheets and home furnishing exports. Commercial moving enquiries may involve stock from Chandni Chowk, Gandhi Nagar or Karol Bagh to godowns and units around Sector 25, Sector 29 and GT Road.
Fabric rolls and finished goods mostly get damaged by dust and moisture, not by breaking. Agree suitable moisture and dust protection, a clean dry load space, and separation from oily or heavy machinery. Pallets or protective supports may be needed, depending on the goods. For business consignments, ask your accounts team to confirm the invoice or delivery challan and any applicable e-way bill before dispatch.
We also do office shifting on this route: workstations, computers, files and server racks, with desk-wise labels and an agreed receiving list. Keep device backup, IT reconnection and restart time separate from physical goods delivery.

Samalkha, Israna, Madlauda and refinery-side addresses need their own destination pin and receiving instructions. For a township or industrial gate, confirm the receiving person and goods-entry permission before dispatch.
A Few Tips That Save Money on This Route
- Avoid Diwali, Dussehra and the last week of the month. Compare nearby dates: availability and rates can tighten around holidays and month-end, without every mid-month booking necessarily being cheaper.
- Sell or give away before you pack. Old coolers, broken chairs and piles of newspapers cost money to move. Call the kabadiwala a week before.
- Pack your own clothes and books in suitcases and strong bags if you want to save on cartons. Leave the kitchen, glass and electronics to the team.
- Choose a shared truck if you're not in a hurry and have a 1 BHK or less.
- Get the lift booked in both societies in advance. Waiting for the lift wastes labour hours, and some societies charge for it.
- Don't send the LPG cylinder with the goods. Get it transferred through your gas agency instead. Trucks shouldn't carry filled cylinders anyway.
After You Reach Panipat
- Transfer your LPG connection to a Panipat distributor using the transfer voucher from your Delhi agency.
- Update your address on Aadhaar, bank accounts and your gas connection.
- If you're settling here for good, look into the Haryana Parivar Pehchan Patra (family ID). Many state services and school forms ask for it.
- Check any vehicle address, NOC, tax or registration work with the relevant transport authority for your circumstances.
Shifting from Panipat to Delhi?
We do the reverse route too. Panipat to Delhi moves are planned a little differently, because the truck has to enter Delhi. That means the vehicle has to meet Delhi's entry rules, and the timing has to fit the no-entry hours on your side of the city. Call us with your pickup and drop locations and we'll plan it accordingly.
