• Panchkula: Give the sector and full property details, then check the packed doorway and stair turns for large furniture before deciding on dismantling or carrying.
• Kharar and New Chandigarh: Share the current approach road and gate pin. If the main vehicle cannot reach a suitable stopping point, we assess a smaller shuttle or additional carrying.

A small tip to save money: Sort out old newspapers, broken furniture and things you have not used in years before the survey. The quote is based on volume, so less material means a smaller truck or less space in a shared load.

Shared Truck or Dedicated Truck – Which One Should You Take?

In a shared truck, your goods travel with other consignments going the same way. You pay only for the space you use, which makes it good for a 1 BHK, a few items, or bachelors shifting after a job change. The only thing is time – the truck waits until the load is full and makes more than one drop, so allow around 2–3 days from pickup to delivery, including consolidation.

A dedicated truck carries only your goods. Agree the packing date and receiving window, and check whether destination access requires a smaller last-mile vehicle or another transfer. For a 2 BHK or bigger home, a family with a fixed joining date, or a lot of glass and wooden furniture, we usually suggest a dedicated truck. Compare the actual totals, handling and dates on the same inventory before choosing.

Truck Entry Timings in Delhi and Chandigarh

Check current goods-vehicle access for the Delhi pickup and the actual Tricity destination. A building’s unloading slot needs to work with the vehicle’s permitted approach, not just the crew’s availability.

In Delhi, we plan loading so that the truck leaves the city within the permitted hours. In Chandigarh, if the restriction applies at the time of arrival, we either unload during the allowed hours or shift the goods into a smaller vehicle for the last few kilometres. Timings are decided by the traffic police and they do change, so our coordinator checks the latest rule before dispatch and tells you the expected unloading time in advance.

Car and Bike Transport from Delhi to Chandigarh

You can drive a car to Chandigarh in about five hours, so many people ask why they should send it on a carrier. The answer is simple – if you are driving your family, someone still has to bring the second car or the bike, and nobody wants to do this route twice in one week. Cars and bikes have a separate carrier, condition and handover assessment. If your new home is not ready, ask about storage availability, location, custody, charges and redelivery before pickup. Loading or unloading only can be assessed as a separate scope.

• Fridge and washing machine: Prepare each appliance as its maker directs, including draining and drying where required. If washer transport locks are needed, fit the correct parts before moving and remove them before use; arrange qualified help for missing parts.
• LED TV: Packed in its original box if you still have it, otherwise with foam sheets, bubble wrap and a corrugated sheet frame. Follow the maker’s orientation and handling instructions, with suitable screen and edge support.
• Sofa, beds and dining table: Wrapped in bubble wrap and stretch film. Beds and dining tables are dismantled if needed and the screws are kept in a labelled pouch.
• Steel almirah and showcase: Emptied, locked and wrapped so the paint does not get scratched.
• Crockery and glass items: Each piece wrapped separately and packed tightly in strong boxes marked "fragile – this side up".
• Pooja items and important documents: We suggest you carry these yourself, along with jewellery and cash.

Every box is numbered and noted in the packing list. You get a copy of this list at the time of loading, and you can tick off the boxes when they are unloaded.

How Your Move Happens – Day by Day

3. Packing and loading day: Agree the crew start and loading slot after the inventory assessment, allowing for packing, lift use and the vehicle’s permitted departure.

Before You Leave Delhi – A Short Checklist
