Pune to Dehradun moving at a glance
This page is for Pune and PCMC families, transferred employees, people sending only a few items, and office coordinators who need a realistic budget and calendar for a Dehradun destination before they commit. The figures below are planning guides for comparing inventory and service scope. They are not a fixed tariff. The final price comes from a written quote based on your inventory, floors, lift or stair access and the exact delivery address.
| Item | Planning guide |
|---|---|
| Road distance | About 1,600 km (map alternatives run from roughly 1,560 to 1,696 km) |
| 1 BHK scope subtotal | Rs. 18,000–24,500 shared, Rs. 27,000–35,500 dedicated |
| 2 BHK scope subtotal | Rs. 24,500–35,000 shared, Rs. 36,500–51,000 dedicated |
| 3 BHK scope subtotal | Rs. 33,000–47,000 shared, Rs. 51,000–67,000 dedicated |
| 4 BHK or villa scope subtotal | Rs. 41,000–59,000 shared, Rs. 63,000–89,000 dedicated |
| Delivery guide | 5–7 days dedicated, 7–10 days shared, counted from actual dispatch |
Two decisions shape every number on this page. The first is shared or dedicated space on the vehicle. The second, is where the quoted road leg actually ends: the Dehradun valley city, or a destination further on such as Mussoorie. Settle both before you compare quotes, because a price for one is not automatically a price for the other.
Distance and route from Pune to Dehradun
Pune is in Maharashtra and Dehradun is in Uttarakhand. A figure of about 1,600 km is a fair planning number. A map check on 17 October 2026 showed driving alternatives of roughly 1,560 km, 1,684 km and 1,696 km, with a passenger car taking about 27 to 33 hours of driving. That is a passenger driving estimate, without the full packing, loading, goods-vehicle halts or delivery schedule, so it is not a delivery schedule for a goods vehicle.
The exact road is chosen by the carrier handling your consignment, and it can change with traffic, weather and vehicle type. You do not need to accept a round 1,700 km figure or assume any particular state or highway sequence. Ask the carrier which route it intends to use and whether the final leg to your address has any restriction for its vehicle.
Valley city versus hill road
Dehradun city sits in a valley at roughly 435 m, at the foot of the lower Himalayan ranges, and is commonly used as a gateway to Mussoorie and Rishikesh. A delivery inside the valley city is therefore not the same thing as a delivery to a hill town. Whether any hilly stretch is involved on your goods route depends on the approach the carrier uses and your final address, so confirm it for your address rather than assuming it either way.
Dehradun city or somewhere beyond it: confirm where the quote ends
People say they are moving to Dehradun and mean quite different places. The district administration lists separate tehsils, including Dehradun Sadar, Doiwala, Rishikesh, Vikasnagar, Chakrata, Kalsi, Tyuni and Mussoorie. So the district name is not a delivery address, and a quote that only says Dehradun can hide a very different last stretch of road. Before you compare prices, make sure every quote ends at the same place.
| Destination type | Example | Confirm before comparing prices | What can change in the quote |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flat in a society inside the valley city | An address in Jakhan, Patel Nagar, Karanpur or Dharampur | Move-in hours, lift booking, floor, gate pass, whether the quoted vehicle can stand close to the entrance | Carrying labour, time at unloading, a smaller vehicle if the large one cannot reach |
| Independent house on a lane | A house off a main road such as Rajpur Road, GMS Road or in the Clement Town area | Width and turning room on the approach, overhead wires, who will be at the door | Vehicle size, extra handling, waiting time. Share approach photos and measurements for the operator’s access assessment. |
| School, campus or institution | A hostel, staff quarter or training campus | Which gate, unloading point and receiver the institution allows, and its hours | Timing and who can sign for the goods |
| Another town in Dehradun district | Doiwala, Rishikesh or Vikasnagar | Exact town, final premises and how the carrier will reach it | A separate assessment of price and delivery time |
| Hill town beyond the valley | Mussoorie or Chakrata | Road access to the final house, vehicle type that can go there, whether goods must be transferred | Vehicle, packing level, timeline and price, all re-quoted |
Write this scope down first
- The exact town and the full final address, not only the district.
- The name and phone number of the person who will receive the goods.
- Whether the large vehicle can reach the door. If it cannot, where goods will be transferred, to what vehicle, who operates it and what it costs.
- Floor, lift size and stair situation at the delivery end.
- The date the premises will actually be ready.
- A line on the written quote that says where the quoted road leg ends.
Campus, school and defence-area addresses
For a school, institution, campus or defence establishment, the host decides what is allowed. Ask the host office to state in writing the permitted gate, the unloading point, who may receive the goods, and any visitor or vehicle registration steps and hours. Share that with us before dispatch. We do not assume a standard permit rule for any such place, because the requirements differ from one host to another.
When Dehradun turns out to be Mussoorie: a worked example
This is an illustration of how a changed destination should be handled. It is not a record of a past job.
A family books a Pune to Dehradun move, and the quote assumes a flat in the valley city. A week before dispatch they learn that their rented flat is actually in Mussoorie. The district is the same, but the road, the vehicle that can reach the house, the handling at the door and the timeline may all differ.
If you find out before dispatch
Tell us at once. The move is then reassessed on the new address and a revised written quote replaces the earlier one. The reassessment covers the route and approach, the vehicle type, whether bulky furniture can be handled at the new door, packing level, the delivery timeline and the price. Pune-side work may stay the same, or packing may need to be upgraded if the goods must be moved in a smaller vehicle at the end. The revised quote should say which. If the family arranges a separate onward operator, both bookings must name their handover location, custody change, package record and respective prices; city delivery is not automatically doorstep delivery in Mussoorie.
If you find out after dispatch
Stop assuming anything about the last leg. The following should be agreed, in order, before the goods move on:
- Name a receiver at the real address, with a phone number.
- Agree a permitted protected holding location or a safe assessed waiting arrangement, the operator and custodian, package counts and condition at handover, duration and price.
- Treat the price as pending the new scope. Do not sign off a number until the route and vehicle for the final leg are confirmed.
- Get the revised timeline in writing.
What should not happen is the goods simply being left at the edge of the city because the address changed. A change of destination is a change of scope, and it is better handled by a short pause and a clear written decision than by a rushed guess at the last leg.
House shifting charges from Pune to Dehradun by home size
The guide below is built in two parts. First comes packing material plus packing, loading and unloading labour. Then comes freight, either on a shared vehicle or a dedicated one. The scope subtotal is the sum of those parts, adding the low figures together and the high figures together. These figures are planning guides, not an actual tariff, and your written quote may fall inside or outside them.
| Home size | Packing material | Packing, loading and unloading labour | Material plus labour |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 BHK | Rs. 3,000–4,500 | Rs. 2,000–3,000 | Rs. 5,000–7,500 |
| 2 BHK | Rs. 5,000–8,000 | Rs. 3,500–5,000 | Rs. 8,500–13,000 |
| 3 BHK | Rs. 8,000–12,000 | Rs. 5,000–7,000 | Rs. 13,000–19,000 |
| 4 BHK or villa | Included in combined figure | Included in combined figure | Rs. 15,000–24,000 |
| Home size | Shared freight | Shared scope subtotal | Dedicated freight | Dedicated scope subtotal |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 BHK | Rs. 13,000–17,000 | Rs. 18,000–24,500 | Rs. 22,000–28,000 | Rs. 27,000–35,500 |
| 2 BHK | Rs. 16,000–22,000 | Rs. 24,500–35,000 | Rs. 28,000–38,000 | Rs. 36,500–51,000 |
| 3 BHK | Rs. 20,000–28,000 | Rs. 33,000–47,000 | Rs. 38,000–48,000 | Rs. 51,000–67,000 |
| 4 BHK or villa | Rs. 26,000–35,000 | Rs. 41,000–59,000 | Rs. 48,000–65,000 | Rs. 63,000–89,000 |
Shared freight means your goods travel as part of a load with other consignments, which is why the delivery window is longer. Dedicated freight means a vehicle is used for your goods only. The next section explains what is not in these subtotals, so you can see the gap between a scope subtotal and a final total.
What moves the price, and what is billed separately
What moves a quote inside the range
- Volume and bulk: a few large pieces such as wardrobes, a sofa set and a double-door refrigerator count for more than many small boxes.
- Packing level: how much is fully wrapped and boxed, how much is pre-packed by you, and which items need extra protection.
- Floors and lift: a ground-floor move is very different from a fourth-floor walk-up at either end.
- Shared or dedicated space on the vehicle.
- Destination scope: valley city, another town in the district or a hill town, as set out above.
- Date flexibility: a flexible dispatch window is easier to fit on a shared load.
Billed separately or by agreement
The scope subtotals above do not include the items below. The written quote should show each of them as included or separate, once, with a final total you have agreed before dispatch.
- GST and tolls: ask whether they are included in the total or shown as separate lines. Treatment depends on the final terms of your quote.
- Optional transit cover: ask in writing whether it is offered, who provides it, how the declared value is set, what is excluded and how a claim is made.
- Qualified technicians: AC removal and refitting including gas handling, electrical and plumbing work, and IT or network setup.
- Temporary holding: any waiting, storage or redelivery, as described later on this page.
- Extra carrying: long manual carries, no lift on high floors, or a transfer to a smaller vehicle at the destination.
Ways to lower the cost sensibly
- Remove what you will not use before the inventory is made. A smaller assessed load can reduce packing, labour or vehicle requirements, though a single removed carton may not change the booked price.
- Consider shared space if your date has some give and your goods are not urgent.
- If you plan to pack some items yourself, ask whether that is accepted and how it affects any cover on those items.
- Compare quotes on the same scope: the same destination end point, the same mode, and the same included and separate items.
Shared or dedicated: delivery days and who each suits
| Mode | Delivery guide after dispatch | Suits | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dedicated vehicle | About 5–7 days | Full homes, fixed joining dates, bulky or valuable loads | Higher freight |
| Shared vehicle | About 7–10 days | Smaller loads, flexible dates, tighter budgets | Longer and less predictable window, because the load is consolidated and other consignments are served |
These days are counted from the day the vehicle actually leaves on its road trip, not from the day you book or the day we pack. Packing, loading and, for shared moves, the time a consignment waits for the vehicle to fill are separate and come before departure. They are planning guides, not a promise based on any completed trip, so ask for the expected dispatch window and delivery window in writing.
Dates to line up
- Packing day at Pune or PCMC.
- Dispatch day, and for shared loads the dispatch window.
- Expected delivery window at Dehradun.
- The date your premises are ready to receive the goods.
From roughly November to February, fog on the northern plains can slow highway travel, so keep a day or two spare if your date is fixed. Some cities restrict heavy vehicles at certain hours. Ask the carrier to confirm anything relevant to your delivery address instead of relying on a general rule.
Kanwar Yatra and monsoon: check the booked corridor
- Kanwar Yatra dates. During the Shravan pilgrimage period, traffic arrangements can change on the Delhi, western Uttar Pradesh and Haridwar approaches. The dates, roads and vehicle categories covered by an order vary. Before dispatch, ask the carrier to check the current police traffic plan for its actual truck and corridor, confirm any changed route and revise the receiving window if needed. A previous year’s diversion or a blanket two-week restriction is not a booking plan.
- Onward hill delivery in the monsoon. Heavy rain can disrupt hill roads, so access to a Mussoorie or Chakrata address must be checked separately from reaching Dehradun valley city. Before loading, agree what happens if the last road cannot be used: revised dispatch, a lawful assessed wait, or a confirmed protected holding arrangement with its location, operator, custody, counts, condition, access, duration, rate and redelivery. Recheck the final road and receiving slot before that onward leg starts.
Car and bike transport from Pune to Dehradun
| Vehicle | Guide |
|---|---|
| Two-wheeler up to 150cc | Rs. 5,000–7,000 |
| Two-wheeler above 150cc | Rs. 7,000–10,000 |
| Hatchback car | Rs. 16,000–20,000 |
| Sedan or SUV | Rs. 20,000–28,000 |
These are guides. The actual amount depends on the model, the mode of carriage and whether the vehicle goes with your household goods or separately.
Confirm before you book
- Model acceptance: confirm your exact make and model is accepted. Electric vehicles, non-running vehicles and modified vehicles are accepted case by case, so check each one independently.
- Carrier type: a vehicle may travel on a shared carrier or a dedicated one, and not every bike needs or gets a crate. Ask what applies to yours.
- Preparation: ask for the carrier’s written preparation instructions, including fuel level and what to remove from the vehicle.
- Condition record: record dated photos, existing scratches and dents, odometer reading, keys and agreed accessories at collection, then compare them at handover.
- Timing: ask for a separate collection and delivery window, and confirm the car carrier’s agreed handover point.
- Documents: confirm registration, ID and any further documents requested by the accepting operator for this booking.
Packing, furniture and appliances: what to check before loading
Furniture and large pieces
Measure the packed width, depth and height of each large item, and compare these with the usable width of each door, the lift cabin size and its load limit, and the stair turns at both ends. Ask the crew to confirm feasibility during the inventory review, because it is far cheaper to learn that a wardrobe will not turn a landing before loading day than at the destination door. Dismantling and reassembly count as part of the job only when the written quote says so. If a large packed item cannot be moved through access at either end, agree safe dismantling or another assessed handling method and its price before loading; otherwise remove that item from the agreed scope.
Appliances
- Keep the user manuals. Washing machines often need transit bolts fitted for the journey if the manual calls for them, and removed again before first use.
- Have qualified technicians handle AC removal and refitting including gas, electrical and plumbing connections, and IT or network equipment. Their charges are separate unless the quote says otherwise.
- Photograph the condition and note the serial numbers of expensive electronics before packing.
Items that do not go on the vehicle
- Fuel, LPG cylinders and fireworks are excluded.
- Keep valuables, jewellery, cash, medicines and important documents with you.
- Declare any plants in advance and get acceptance in writing, because live plants may not be carried.

Access at the Pune or PCMC pickup and the Dehradun delivery address
| Question | Pune or PCMC pickup | Dehradun delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Which floor, and is there a lift or only stairs? | Note the lift cabin size and any service lift | Same, and confirm it works on the delivery date |
| Where can the vehicle stand? | Gate or road frontage, and how far to the entrance | Confirm whether the quoted vehicle can reach the door |
| Any society or building permission? | Moving hours, deposits or gate passes | Same, and any entry rules for the vehicle |
| Who will be there? | Name of the person releasing the goods | Name and phone of the receiver |
Our Pune-listed office is at Transport Nagar in Nigdi, which suits PCMC pickups. Typical pickup areas include Hinjawadi, Wakad, Baner, Kothrud, Hadapsar, Kharadi, Viman Nagar, Pimple Saudagar, Aundh and Bavdhan. Some housing societies set moving hours or ask for a gate pass, so check with your society office early.
At the Dehradun end, delivery areas include Jakhan, Rajpur Road, Vasant Vihar, Garhi Cantt, Clement Town, GMS Road, Patel Nagar, Karanpur, Dharampur and Subhash Nagar. Access varies by address and not by area name. Some addresses have wide approaches and easy parking, while others have limited standing space or a lane that a large vehicle cannot enter. Check the exact address and send a photo of the approach if you are unsure.
Transferred employees and people sending only a few items
Transferred employees
Before you book, ask your HR or accounts team what they need to reimburse a move: usually a written quote, a final bill and receipts, but policies differ, and some employers have vendor requirements. We can state in writing which billing documents we issue for your quote. Do not assume an approval status that has not been confirmed to you in writing.
Plan around the delivery window, not just the date you want to be settled. Dispatch day starts the count, and a shared load can take 7 to 10 days from then. Keep clothes, documents, medicines and basic kitchen items in your luggage so you can manage while the main load is on the road.
Few-item moves
If you are sending a bed, a few cartons, a cycle or a small set of items, the quote is built from a list of items with sizes, not from a room count. There is no fixed tariff on this page for such loads, so send an item list with approximate measurements and photos of larger pieces. These loads are usually carried as shared part-loads, so the 7 to 10 day window after dispatch applies. A bike is priced as a vehicle, as shown in the vehicle section.
Office relocation from Pune to Dehradun
An office move is priced from its assets, not from the number of rooms. Desks, chairs, workstations, servers, network gear and records each need different handling, so the quote starts from an asset list.
| Asset type | Record before loading | Check at delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Laptops and desktops | Physical asset ID, serial number, accessories (chargers, docks, cables) counted | Counts match and condition is noted |
| Servers and network gear | Asset IDs, labelled cable runs, who releases them | Receiver named in Dehradun, and testing by qualified IT staff |
| Furniture | Count and condition, and what will be dismantled | Items accounted for and reassembly agreed |
| Files and records | Numbered cartons, with a list of what is inside | Carton numbers all present |
Name one person at the Pune office who releases assets and one person at Dehradun who receives them. Arrange data backups before disconnection. Disconnecting, reconnecting and testing IT equipment should be done by qualified IT staff. A move across about 1,600 km cannot promise zero downtime, so plan for a gap between the last working day in Pune and the first full day in Dehradun. Check building management permissions, lift access and loading bay timing at both ends.
How a Pune to Dehradun move is arranged
The process
- You share your Pune or PCMC address, the exact Dehradun town and final premises, preferred dates, and an item list or photos.
- We review the inventory and access based on what you have shared and ask about anything unclear.
- You receive a written quote that states the mode, packing material and labour, freight, what is included and what is separate, and where the quoted road leg ends.
- You confirm the packing date and the dispatch date or window.
- The goods are packed, loaded and counted, and you keep a copy of the inventory.
- You agree in advance how you will get status updates during transit. Ask what to expect rather than assuming a particular tracking method.
- Delivery is made at the agreed address, and you check the goods against the inventory list.
Questions to ask any mover
- Does the quote end at my exact address, and what happens if the vehicle cannot reach it?
- Is this shared or dedicated, and when will the vehicle actually dispatch?
- What is included in the total, and what is shown separately?
- What happens if the destination or date changes after booking?
- Is transit cover offered, on what terms, and how are claims made?
Payment, changes and delivery records
Before confirming, agree the advance and balance, the named payment recipient, cancellation or rescheduling terms and any refund conditions. Keep the written inventory, quote, booking reference, consignment receipt and invoice. At delivery, count packages before unpacking or reassembly, record shortages or visible damage on the receipt with the package ID, take photos and preserve relevant packing. Contact the named support person and follow any optional cover provider’s agreed claim process and evidence requirements.
How we scope your move
Agarwal Logistics Packers and Movers, also known as Agarwal (ALPM) Packers and Movers, has a Pune-listed office at Office No. 18, Sector 24, Near Ramdev Dhaba, Transport Nagar, Nigdi, Pune 411044. The registered address is Old Bowenpally, Secunderabad. Our scope is set by your inventory and access, and it is written down. We would rather tell you a figure is a guide than offer a low headline price that changes later. You can reach us on +91 9467186002.
If the Dehradun premises are not ready: temporary holding
Sometimes goods arrive before the flat is ready, or the destination changes in transit. Temporary holding should never be assumed or left vague. If it may be needed, agree the points below in writing before dispatch.
| Term | What to agree |
|---|---|
| Location | Exactly where the goods will be kept |
| Operator and custody | Who runs the place and who is responsible for the goods while they are there |
| Counts | Number of cartons and items, matched to the inventory at entry |
| Condition | Condition at entry, noted on the record |
| Duration and rate | How long, and the rate per day or per month |
| Access | Whether you can visit or check the goods, and when |
| Redelivery | When and how goods go on to the final address, and any extra cost |
Leaving goods on the vehicle for several days is also a form of holding, so ask whether waiting or detention charges can apply. Nothing in this section is included in the scope subtotals unless the written quote says it is.
