Shared truck or dedicated truck: which one should you take?

In a shared (part load) truck, your goods travel with other consignments going the same way, so you split the truck cost. It is cheaper, but the truck may wait a day to fill up and may stop for another drop. In a dedicated truck, the agreed vehicle space is reserved for your goods. Confirm the departure, door access and any planned transfer before booking. If you have a 1BHK and you are not in a hurry, shared works fine. If you have a 3BHK, expensive furniture, or a joining date you cannot miss, the extra money for a dedicated truck is usually worth it.

What actually decides your cost

• Volume, not just BHK. A 2BHK with a double-door fridge, sofa set, two beds and fifty cartons of books is a very different load from a 2BHK with basic furniture. That is why we survey first.
• Floor and lift. Third floor without a lift in Laxmi Nagar costs more labour than a ground-floor house in Dwarka.
• Distance from the truck to your door. If the big truck cannot enter your gali, we shuttle goods in a smaller vehicle, and that adds a bit.
• Packing level. Standard packing vs. wooden crates for a large TV, glass top dining table or a temple unit.
• Car or bike along with household goods. A car normally needs its own carrier; a bike can be assessed for a combined load or separate transport.
• Season and date. Month-end, March - June (transfer season) and Diwali time get booked fast. Rates can be a little higher if you book at the last minute.

What is included and what is not

Agree the included scope: packing material, labour, loading, selected vehicle, transport, unloading, room placement and any selected unpacking or furniture reassembly. State the treatment of tolls, tax and other transport charges in the written estimate.

Not included unless you ask: transit insurance, AC uninstall/install, geyser and chimney fitting, carpentry on modular furniture that was fixed to the wall, and storage. We mention each of these as a separate line in the quote, so there are no surprises on delivery day.

How a Delhi to Indore Move Goes, Day by Day

1. Survey and written estimate. We review the inventory through photos or a video call, with a visit where available, list the items and give you a written quote with the exact date.
2. Packing and loading day. The team arrives in the booked slot; packing duration and manpower depend on the actual load and access. Every carton gets a number and room name, and you get a copy of the inventory list and the lorry receipt (LR / bilty) before the truck leaves.
3. On the road (2 - 3 days). Agree the move contact and updates before departure. Driver rest, current road conditions and the selected mode belong in the delivery plan.

Packing That Survives 800 km of Highway

On a long route, damage rarely happens because of one big jerk. It happens because of hours of small vibration, and because of dust. Choose protection for the selected vehicle, surfaces and fragile pieces rather than using one wrapping method for everything.

• Kitchen: each plate, glass and bowl is wrapped separately in paper, and cartons are filled so nothing moves when you shake them. Pressure cookers and steel utensils go in their own boxes so they do not crush the crockery.
• TV and electronics: original boxes if you still have them. If not, bubble wrap, foam corners and a wooden or thick corrugated frame for bigger TVs.
• Fridge and washing machine: prepare appliances according to their makers’ transport and restart instructions. Use the correct washer transport locks where required and remove them before reuse. Fridge orientation and screen protection need to suit the model.
• Furniture: beds and wardrobes are dismantled, screws are kept in labelled pouches secured with the outer packing, away from polished surfaces, and wooden surfaces get a blanket layer before stretch film, so the film does not stick to the polish.
• Clothes and bedding: wardrobe cartons for hanging clothes, mattresses sealed in plastic covers.
• Pooja items and idols: packed separately with suitable cushioning, orientation and weight distribution. Many families prefer to carry small idols themselves, and that is perfectly fine.

Car Transport from Delhi to Indore

Your car travels on the selected car carrier, not tied on top of the household truck. Before loading we note down the odometer reading and take photos from all sides along with you, so both sides agree on the car's condition. Bike Transport from Delhi to Indore

Bikes and scooters are wrapped in bubble sheet and foam on the tank, handle and mirrors, then loaded upright and tied with wheel straps. Follow the carrier and manufacturer’s fuel or EV charge instructions. Packing, restraints and loading need to suit the model and selected vehicle. Charges are usually ₹6,000 to ₹9,000 depending on the model and whether it travels with your household goods or separately.

Which Route Does the Truck Take?

There are two common ways from Delhi to Indore. The first goes via Jaipur and Kota, entering MP and coming to Indore from the Dewas side. The second goes via Agra, Gwalior, Shivpuri and Guna. Use roughly 800–850 km as a broad city-to-city reference, with longer routes possible depending on the corridor and addresses. For example, from South Delhi or Gurgaon the Jaipur side is often quicker, while from East Delhi or Noida the Agra side can make more sense. Documents You Need for Delhi to Indore Shifting

• For household goods: a copy of your ID (Aadhaar, PAN or DL) and the new Indore address. We give you the lorry receipt (LR) and the item-wise inventory list.

In newer areas like Vijay Nagar, Nipania, Super Corridor or Bicholi Mardana, the issue is usually society rules: many societies allow shifting only between fixed hours and need you to book the service lift. Things You Should Not Send in the Truck

• Cash, gold, jewellery and important papers like property files, passports and certificates. Carry these yourself.
• LPG cylinders without explicit carrier acceptance; ask the distributor about transfer, kerosene, petrol cans, paint thinner and other flammable things.
• Open bottles of oil, ghee or pickle. If you must send them, seal the lids with tape and tell the packing team.
• Plants, if possible. Two to three days in a closed truck is hard on them. Ask about carrier acceptance and any requirements before including plants or soil.
• Laptop and phone chargers you need for the next three days. Keep a small bag with clothes, medicines and essentials with you.
