Bangalore to Mysore is a short intercity route, roughly 143 to 150 km depending on where you are picking up from. Most families assume a short distance means a simple job, and partly that is true. The drive itself is easy on the NH-275 expressway. What actually decides how smooth your day goes is how early the packing starts in Bangalore, how quickly the truck gets out of city traffic, and whether your Mysore society is ready to receive the goods.

What the written price covers
The household estimate covers agreed packing material and labour, loading, dedicated freight, NH275 tolls, unloading and basic refitting of listed furniture. Price stair carrying, long carry from the parking point, specialist crating, technician work or a smaller transfer vehicle where needed. Applicable GST and any selected transit cover should be clear in the final total.
How Long Does Bangalore to Mysore Shifting Take?
The driving time in a car is not the same as the schedule for a loaded moving truck. Trucks run at lower speed limits, and the real time goes in getting out of Bangalore. A pickup from Kengeri or RR Nagar is already on Mysore Road, while a pickup from Whitefield or Hebbal can take considerably longer to reach the expressway on a busy weekday.

So yes, a 1 BHK or 2 BHK move can be finished on the same day, when the inventory, traffic and receiving slot allow it. For a 3 BHK or a full villa, we normally pack and load on day one and unload early the next morning. If an overnight stop is needed, record the vehicle, stop and delivery arrangement before dispatch. If same-day delivery is important for you (school joining, office reporting, lease ending), tell us at the time of booking so the packing crew, vehicle and unloading slot can be planned together.
NH275 route and city exit
The usual corridor heads from the Mysore Road side of Bengaluru towards Ramanagara, Channapatna, Maddur, Mandya and Srirangapatna, then Mysuru. The access-controlled road bypasses town centres; a town delivery may need a different exit. A suitable NICE Road connection can help some southern pickups, but it does not remove all city traffic.
Family, Work, Retirement and Student Moves
Different reasons for moving call for different plans:
- IT and corporate transfers: People shifting for a posting at the Mysore campuses in Hebbal Industrial Area or the tech parks near the Outer Ring Road. These are mostly 1 BHK and 2 BHK moves on a fixed joining date, so timing matters more than anything.
- Retired couples and parents: Mysore is a popular choice after retirement because it is calmer and closer to family in many cases. These homes usually have older wooden furniture, pooja items, steel almirahs and a lot of kitchen vessels. Packing takes longer than the BHK size suggests, so allow packing time for the actual inventory.

- Students and young professionals: A bed, a study table, a few cartons and a scooter. A Tata Ace or a share in a small truck is enough.

For desks, computers, files or a home office, label each device and cable by room or department. Back up data and carry essential drives with you. Plan the loading slot around work closure and arrange the new internet connection before you need it.
Few Items, Luggage, Fridge or Sofa Shifting
Not every move is a full house. If you only need to send a fridge, a washing machine, a sofa set, or 10 to 15 cartons, you do not have to pay for a 14 ft truck. For small loads like this we use a Tata Ace or a Bolero pickup, or club your goods with another booking going the same day. Get an itemised quote for the items, packing and handling. One honest suggestion: if a small load occupies a substantial part of a light goods vehicle, compare the full-vehicle quote with a shared slot. The saving on a shared load on such a short route is small, and a dedicated slot gives more control over dispatch.

Furniture, Fragile Items and Appliance Packing
A short trip still needs proper cushioning and a stable load. Protect TV screens and corners, separate glassware, pad polished furniture and label dismantled fittings. Large glass tops, stone pooja units and valuable TVs may need an assessed crate. Keep cloth and mattress packing dry, especially during rain.
Washing Machine and Fridge: A Few Things to Do Before We Come
If you still have the original carton of your washing machine, keep it. It helps, but only if the thermocol supports inside are also there. For front-load machines, the transit bolts that came with the machine are important. Many people throw them away after installation. If you cannot find them, tell us in advance and arrange the manufacturer-approved bolts or restraints for your model.
Drain the machine fully the night before, and switch off and defrost the fridge at least 12 to 24 hours ahead so there is no water leaking inside the truck. Tie the hoses and the inlet pipe in a polythene bag and label it to match the machine, otherwise it goes missing in the cartons. Plumbing and electrical reconnection in Mysore is not part of standard unloading, so arrange any required technician before the move.
Furniture and kitchen items
Assess dismantling of storage cots, beds and wardrobes before loading. Bag screws and hinges with the matching item number, and agree refitting at Mysore. Wrap crockery individually in divided or well-cushioned cartons; keep heavy kitchen vessels separate from fragile glass and pack silk or delicate clothing in clean, dry boxes.
Bike and Car Transport: Rates and Paperwork
About bikes on this route: Since 1 August 2023, two-wheelers, three-wheelers and tractors are not allowed on the main carriageway of the Bengaluru–Mysuru expressway. They have to use the service road, which is slower and has more junctions. Riding your bike down is still possible, but most people prefer to send it in the same truck as their household goods. A bike can be assessed with the household load and secured in a suitable position; loading order depends on the vehicle and the rest of the goods.
Indicative vehicle prices are ₹2,500–₹3,600 for a standard scooter or commuter bike, ₹3,500–₹4,800 for a larger motorcycle, ₹6,500–₹9,000 for a hatchback or sedan and ₹8,500–₹11,500 for a mid-size SUV or luxury vehicle. Confirm the carrier and preparation for your specific model.
Since Bangalore and Mysore are both in Karnataka, you do not need an NOC or a fresh registration for your bike or car. Your KA number stays as it is. Check the applicable RC address-change process with the relevant RTO after moving. Do check the current rules there, as the process gets updated from time to time.
For the transport itself, please keep these ready on the day of pickup:
- Photocopy of the RC and the vehicle insurance
- A copy of your ID proof
- Follow the booked carrier’s fuel and battery instructions for your vehicle
- Remove helmets, phone holders, side bags and anything loose from the bike, and personal items from the car
- Note the odometer reading and take a few photos from all four sides at the time of handover
Best Time to Plan a Mysore Move
Weekdays vs weekends: Weekend and month-end slots get booked first, especially the last week of the month when leases end. A mid-week date is easier to get though actual traffic still depends on your pickup locality.
Monsoon: Both cities get heavy rain between June and October. Our trucks are closed containers, but the loading and unloading happen in the open. During these months we wrap sofas and mattresses in an extra layer of plastic and try to finish unloading before the evening showers.
Dasara season: During Mysuru Dasara, traffic in the city centre and around the palace is very heavy, and some roads get diverted. If you are moving in late September or October, book early and expect the Mysore leg to take longer. Outer-layout deliveries also need the actual approach and current diversion checked.
Society Permissions and Building Access
Most gated apartments in Bangalore ask for a move-out gate pass and confirmation that maintenance dues are cleared. Some charge a refundable deposit for lift use. Please speak to your association office at least two days before. At a Mysore independent house, parking, gate width and stair access may be the main issues; an apartment can also need lift booking and association permission. Let us know if the house is on a narrow road or a first-floor portion with an outside staircase, so we can bring the right number of people.
Compare Written Quotes and Check Transit Cover
Compare the same inventory, packing and access needs across estimates. A low phone figure is not enough if unloading, tolls or stairs are missing. Retain the written scope, booking receipt, item list and the contact responsible for delivery. Agree how a genuine change in the load or access would be priced before it happens.
Insurance needs an issued policy
If you choose transit insurance, get the insurer’s name, policy number, insured goods, declared value, premium, exclusions and excess. A receipt labelled “insurance” is not a substitute for an issued policy. The actual premium and claim settlement depend on that policy; do not assume a free-cover offer is included.
Record loss or damage on the delivery receipt, take photographs and report it promptly through the agreed contact. Keep the inventory and policy records for the claim.
Company or employer reimbursement
Share the employer’s required billing format before booking. Keep the GST invoice, lorry receipt, packing inventory and payment receipts. Reimbursement approval follows the employer’s rules.
Your 48-Hour Moving Checklist
Two days before
- Arrange move-out and move-in permissions, lift bookings, parking and keys.
- Clean and dry the fridge and washing machine, following the manufacturer’s preparation instructions.
- Keep valuables, laptops, documents, medicines and personal keys in a bag you carry yourself.
- Arrange LPG transfer with the supplier; keep flammables and leaking or perishable goods out of the moving load.
On moving day
- Keep an overnight bag with chargers, clothes, toiletries, medicines and water.
- Check the numbered inventory and existing-condition photographs before handover.
- Retain the driver/coordinator contact and consignment receipt, and arrange an authorised receiver at Mysore.
