Packers and Movers from Gurgaon to Dehradun
Planning a move from Gurgaon to Dehradun? The current city-point road options are roughly 250–275 km. A 2 BHK move has a budgeting range of ₹11,400–25,100; allow around 1–2 days for a dedicated truck or 2–4 days for a shared load, subject to the agreed schedule. The exact inventory, truck access and destination town determine the final quote and delivery window.

Gurgaon to Dehradun route: distance and driving time
The road distance between Gurgaon and Dehradun comes out at roughly 250 to 275 km, across the selected city-point route options; your two building addresses can change that distance. The three driving options below come from a map check on 18 October 2026 using selected city points at both ends. Treat them as current planning figures, not a fixed route.
| Route | Distance | Car driving time |
|---|---|---|
| NH344G | 255 km | 4 h 2 min |
| NH48 and NH344G | 272 km | 4 h 44 min |
| NH344G and the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway | 252 km | 4 h 9 min |
Two cautions. First, those are map estimates for driving a car; they exclude packing, loading and unloading. A move also includes packing, loading, driver rest and unloading, so it runs longer than the drive. The timing section below shows how the hours add up. Second, the road used by a loaded truck depends on vehicle eligibility, current restrictions, access and traffic. We confirm truck eligibility and both addresses when we plan your move, and we do not assume the quickest car route applies to a loaded truck.
Moves we plan on this route
ALPM plans household moves, office goods, intercity transport and car or bike coordination between Gurgaon and Dehradun, with storage available on request. The final mode, scope and availability are agreed in writing for each move. Here is how we think about each kind of customer.
Families
For a 1, 2 or 3 BHK home we work from an itemised inventory covering furniture, appliances, cartons, fragile pieces and anything that has to be dismantled. Packing, loading, road transport and unloading form the base job. Extras such as unpacking, furniture assembly or an AC technician are priced separately when you want them, so the quote shows plainly what is in and what is out.
Professionals and students with a few items
If you are moving a bed, a handful of cartons, a desk and a couple of appliances, a full dedicated truck may be more than you need. A shared or part load can suit a small, well-packed move when your dates are flexible and you can wait for consolidation. We will say which arrangement fits your volume instead of steering you to a bigger vehicle.
Office owners
Office relocation from Gurgaon to Dehradun is planned from the actual inventory, not from a standard volume figure. List desks, chairs, cabinets, files, servers and IT equipment by floor or team. Label each carton with its destination desk or room, and fix a receiving window with whoever will be present in Dehradun. If you are moving business stock or new goods rather than used office items, check the paperwork rules with your accountant or operator before the truck leaves.
Car and bike owners
Vehicles are coordinated after assessment. The vehicle section below gives planning ranges and the questions we settle first.
Why consider ALPM for this move
Agarwal (ALPM) Packers and Movers plans this route around your actual item list, pickup access and receiving address. A useful moving quote should let you check the work before you book:
- Furniture, appliances, cartons and fragile pieces listed clearly, with any dismantling identified.
- Shared or dedicated transport specified, with a pickup window and an expected delivery window.
- Both building approaches checked, including stairs, lift dimensions, stopping space and carrying distance.
- Packing, handling, optional work and payment terms recorded together, so a change to the job can be discussed before it adds cost.
Ask which arrangement is available for your dates and who will coordinate collection and delivery. Discuss any special handling needs before confirming the scope.
Gurgaon to Dehradun shifting charges: planning ranges
These are planning ranges for budgeting a house move from Gurgaon to Dehradun. They are a guide, not a fixed ALPM tariff. They span a mix of shared and dedicated arrangements, so where you land inside a band depends on your inventory, floor access and the mode you choose.
| Home size | Planning range |
|---|---|
| 1 BHK | ₹8,300–17,900 |
| 2 BHK | ₹11,400–25,100 |
| 3 BHK | ₹14,200–31,300 |
A 4 BHK, a villa, an office or a small list of items is assessed from the actual inventory, not from a fixed volume figure.
What moves your price within a band
- The volume and weight of what you actually own, including bulky or heavy pieces.
- Stairs, lift access and carry distance at both ends.
- Shared load or dedicated truck.
- How much packing you want us to do and how much you have already done.
- Extras such as dismantling, assembly, unpacking or technician work.
What the quote should state, once
The base job is core packing, loading, road transport and unloading. Ask for GST, toll, transit cover, stairs and long carry, a feeder vehicle, technician work, unpacking, assembly and any holding or waiting charge to be written as included or excluded, once, in the same document. If the inventory, dates or access change later, ask for any revised charge to be agreed before the additional work starts.
An illustrative example
For illustration only: say a 2 BHK core price is agreed at ₹18,500 and a long carry at the Dehradun end is agreed at ₹1,200. That makes ₹19,700 before GST and any transit cover you choose. This is not an actual invoice and not a city fee. It shows how a line-by-line quote should read.
Car and bike transport from Gurgaon to Dehradun
Car and bike transport is coordinated after assessment. These planning ranges show roughly what to budget.
| Vehicle | Planning range |
|---|---|
| Scooter or commuter bike | ₹5,500–6,800 |
| Heavy bike | ₹6,800–8,500 |
| Hatchback or small car | ₹9,500–12,500 |
| Sedan or standard SUV | ₹12,500–16,500 |
These figures assume a standard assessed arrangement, not an enclosed carrier. Electric vehicles, non-running vehicles and enclosed transport are assessed separately, and we do not assume a standard premium for any of them.
Confirm before you book
- Mode: whether the vehicle goes on a carrier or is handed over to a driver.
- Availability for your dates.
- Vehicle condition, noted at pickup and again at drop.
- Exact pickup and drop addresses.
- Whether the vehicle travels in the same window as your household goods. It will not always.
A car’s four-hour drive time is not a delivery time. Ask for the vehicle’s expected handover window in the same written quote as the rest of the move.
Packing and handling before the truck arrives
Good packing decides how much of the move is routine and how much turns into a problem at the other end. Check whether the price covers the cartons, wrapping and labour required for the items on your list.
What to prepare
- Sort first and pack second. Anything you will not use in Dehradun is cheaper to leave behind than to move.
- Keep documents, jewellery, laptops and chargers with you, not on the truck.
- Pack one essentials box per room for the first night: bedding, toiletries, a kettle, basic tools, bulbs.
- Label cartons by destination room, not only by contents.
Appliances and fittings
- Prepare the fridge and washing machine according to their manuals, allowing time for defrosting, drying, draining and securing transport fittings where required.
- Ask for AC uninstall and reinstall to be listed as technician work if you want it, since it is not part of the base job.
- Keep appliance manuals, remotes, screws and fittings in a labelled bag that travels with you.
- Photograph furniture and electronics before packing so that condition is easy to compare later.
Materials and transit cover
Typical packing materials include cartons, wrap and tape, and the quote should say what is included for your job. We do not assume blanket cover on any move. If you want transit cover, ask for it to be selected in the quote and read what it covers.
Keep the pickup path clear around packed goods
Packed furniture needs a clear exit as well as protective wrapping. This photo shows how several bulky pieces can occupy the same staging area.
For a Gurgaon to Dehradun move, agree a loading sequence that leaves space for safe carrying. Share the pickup access and the exact delivery approach, including any final stretch that the booked vehicle may not reach.
If a smaller vehicle or a longer carry is needed, settle the goods count, responsibility and charges before dispatch. Keep the revised plan with the booking record.
How booking works
The process is deliberately plain.
- You send the details below, by call or message, on +91 94671 86002.
- We build an itemised inventory with you and confirm the mode: shared or dedicated for goods, and how any vehicle will travel.
- You receive a written quote showing the base job and listing each extra as included or excluded.
- We fix the date, pickup window and receiving window together.
- Packing and loading take place at the Gurgaon address.
- The truck departs, and we update you on timing as the plan allows.
- Unloading and placing happen in Dehradun, followed by handover.
What to send for an accurate quote
- Pickup address in Gurgaon, with floor, lift and society move-in or move-out rules.
- Exact drop town, PIN and last approach in Dehradun or the wider district.
- An item list, or photos of each room.
- Your preferred dates and how flexible they are.
- Any car, bike, fragile or heavy items.
Dehradun city or wider district? Confirm the actual destination
An address in District Dehradun is not necessarily in Dehradun city. The official District Dehradun tehsil page, last updated on 25 May 2026, lists eight separate tehsils.
- Dehradun Sadar
- Doiwala
- Rishikesh
- Vikasnagar
- Chakrata
- Kalsi
- Tyuni
- Mussoorie
For a mover, the practical lesson is simple: price the full town, the PIN code and the last approach to the building, not the word Dehradun on its own. Mussoorie, Doiwala, Rishikesh and Vikasnagar are distinct towns, so we do not quote any of them from a flat city figure, and we do not apply a district-wide hill fee. The tehsil list says nothing about truck permissions or tax, so we do not read anything into it on those points.
Moving to Haridwar instead? View its separate route guide
For a hill-town drop, confirm the final road leg separately
For Mussoorie, Chakrata or another hill destination, ask the operator to check current official road status and weather advice for the final approach close to dispatch. Use the actual town and road from the address record; a usable road into Dehradun city does not confirm the next leg to your property. During heavy-rain alerts, recheck before proceeding to that leg and keep the receiver informed.
If the approach cannot be used, agree the revised delivery appointment and any accepted holding location, rate and release authority before choosing an alternative. An unplanned roadside transfer or delivery to a different town should not replace the agreed destination without acceptance. Confirm whether the original carrier continues or a separately assessed transfer is needed, and retain the inventory count at each accepted handover.
Common Dehradun localities and what to check
Moves into Rajpur Road, Jakhan, Dalanwala, GMS Road, Ballupur, Vasant Vihar, Prem Nagar, Clement Town, Dharampur, Nehru Colony, Sahastradhara Road and Raipur each come down to the building, not the locality name. We do not treat any of these areas as automatically steep, narrow or limited to small vehicles. We ask practical questions instead.
- Where can the main truck stop, and for how long?
- How far is the stop from the front door, and is the route stepped, sloped or tight?
- Is there a lift, and does the building restrict its use for moves?
- Who will be present to receive, and during which hours?
- Are there society or colony timings for deliveries?
Answers to these decide whether the main truck can reach the door or whether a measured carry or feeder vehicle makes more sense. Both options are set out next.
Two ways to reach your door in Dehradun
When gate access is uncertain, there are two sensible plans. Decide between them from your address details, not from an area’s reputation, and compare the total cost and handling for each before committing.
| Point | Main truck to the door | Measured carry or agreed feeder |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | The long-haul truck stops at or near the entrance and unloads directly. | The truck stops where it can, and goods are carried by hand or moved by a smaller feeder vehicle for the last stretch. |
| Handling | Fewer touches per item. | More touches, so packing and labelling matter more. |
| What to compare | Time the truck must wait, and any waiting charge. | The agreed carry or feeder line in the quote, compared with the actual quote and not an assumed area surcharge. |
| Works when | There is a legal, safe stopping spot close to the door. | The approach is long, tight or restricted for large vehicles. |
Ask for both plans to be priced if you are unsure. The cheaper line is not always the cheaper move once handling and waiting are added.
School, college and staff housing moves
Moving into a school, college or staff residence adds a receiving layer that a private flat does not have. Settle these points in writing with the institution before the truck leaves Gurgaon.
- Who is the authorised receiver, and are they available during the unloading window?
- Is the room allotted, and who holds the keys?
- Which items are accepted? Some residences restrict appliances, cooking equipment or large furniture.
- What are the handover and entry timings, including any gate or security formalities?
- If you cannot be present, who can sign for the delivery on your behalf?
A small student or staff load is usually well suited to a shared arrangement if your arrival date has some flexibility. If the room is not ready on the day, tell us early so we can plan holding or a revised window.
If it rains on unloading day
If rain is forecast for delivery, agree how goods will move from the vehicle into a dry receiving space. Packing materials do not remove the need for covered transfer and dry staging.
- Identify a dry staging area inside or under cover before unloading starts, and keep floors clear.
- Unload priority cartons first: essentials boxes, bedding and anything you need on the first night.
- Move cartons and furniture to dry ground quickly and avoid leaving them on wet surfaces, even briefly.
- Keep appliance manuals with the appliances. Check the manufacturer’s advice on waiting before switching on a fridge or washing machine.
- Keep the paper cartons dry. If a carton becomes wet, assess its condition before lifting or stacking it.
If conditions are bad, agreeing to pause or shift the window is often better than rushing. Tell us as early as you can.
Paperwork and permissions to check
Household moves are generally simple on paperwork, but a few things are worth confirming.
- E-way bill: used household goods are generally exempt under the rules. Business stock or new goods are different, so your operator or accountant should verify the requirement. We do not assume an e-way bill for every household move.
- Taxes and entry charges: we do not apply a universal green tax or a fixed premium. If any specific charge applies to your move, it should appear in the written quote.
- Gurgaon society rules: check with your society or resident welfare body about move-out timings, gate passes, lift reservation and any deposit. These are set locally and we do not assume approvals.
- Vehicle papers: keep a copy of the registration certificate, your ID and insurance papers handy, and ask what the carrier or driver needs.
How to compare quotes like for like
Two quotes with the same headline figure can describe very different moves. Before you decide, line them up on the following points.
- Is the quote based on an itemised inventory that you have seen?
- Does it state shared or dedicated mode, and for vehicles, how the vehicle travels?
- Does it list GST, toll, transit cover, stairs or carry, feeder, technician, unpacking, assembly and holding charges as included or excluded?
- Does it name the business and show a GST number you can check?
- Does it state the pickup window and the receiving window?
- Are payment terms and any advance written down?
- Does it avoid promising an arrival hour that nobody has confirmed?
A quote that answers all seven is easier to trust, and easier to hold to, than the lowest number on its own.
