Packers and Movers Gurgaon to Allahabad (Prayagraj)
Gurgaon to Allahabad, now Prayagraj, is roughly 700 km by road on the checked routes. A dedicated truck has a planning allowance of about 2–3 days from pickup to finished unloading, while shared loads can take 3–7 days. For planning, a 2BHK move has an indicative guide of Rs. 17,700–26,500, depending on mode, floors, carry and tolls. Your written quote should confirm each of these.

House shifting cost guide by home size
Here is a planning guide for a full-service household move, meaning packing, loading, road transport and unloading. It is drawn from the ranges commonly quoted for moves in the 500–900 km band, adjusted for this route, and it is not ALPM's fixed rate card.
| Move size | Planning range | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Few items (a room's worth) | Rs. 8,000–10,500 | Subject to the item list |
| 1BHK | Rs. 12,000–23,000 | Wide range: furnishing and mode vary a lot |
| 2BHK | Rs. 17,700–26,500 | Confirm furnishing, mode and access |
| 3BHK | Rs. 21,500–30,700 | Heavier furniture and more cartons |
| 4BHK, villa or large office | Assessed | Priced after an inventory, not from a table |
Why is the 1BHK band so wide? A lightly furnished flat with a bed, a few cartons and a fridge is a very different load from a 1BHK with a sofa set, a washing machine, a large wardrobe and a full kitchen. The mode also changes the price, as the next section explains.
The price you actually pay is set by your inventory, the agreed packing scope, the floors and lift at both ends, and the mode of transport. A written quote that names those factors is worth more than a lower number that does not.
Road options between Gurgaon and Prayagraj
We checked driving-mode map options between the two city endpoints on 18 October 2026. Three routes came up, and all of them run close to 700 km.
| Route | Distance | Car ETA on the map |
|---|---|---|
| Via Ganga Expressway | 701 km | 9h46m |
| Via Ganga Expressway and NH30 | 701 km | 10h07m |
| Via Agra-Lucknow Expressway and Ganga Expressway | 709 km | 10h30m |
UPEIDA listed the Ganga Expressway as operational when checked on the same date. The operator still needs to confirm the permitted approach, vehicle category and applicable tolls for the booked move.
So read the table as a sense of scale. A map shows a car between two points. A moving truck has its own speed, its own rest stops and its own permitted road and toll rules, and the driver confirms those before booking. An operator may propose a different corridor after checking the pickup, destination and loaded vehicle; agree any effect on the price and schedule before dispatch.
Where your pickup sits inside Gurgaon matters too. A flat near Sohna Road and one near Cyber City can start the journey from quite different sides of the city, so include the actual pickup gate when calculating the road leg.
Four clocks: loading, dispatch, road and unloading
When someone says a move takes two days, they might be counting any of four different things. Agree what the quoted window includes.
- Packing and loading day. Pack and load time in Gurgaon depends on the home size, the number of fragile items, the floor and whether the lift can be booked. Ask how much time is reserved for your actual inventory and preparation.
- Dispatch. On a dedicated truck, dispatch normally follows loading. On a shared load, your goods may wait while other consignments on the same route are collected and consolidated.
- Road time. This is the part the map describes, but a loaded truck needs its own allowance for rest, traffic and permitted access.
- Unloading. Reaching Prayagraj is not the same as being unloaded. Access, parking, lift booking, society rules and a long carry can add hours.
Our planning estimate is about 2–3 days from pickup to finished unloading for a dedicated truck, and 3–7 days for a shared load including consolidation. Those are estimates for planning, not trip records or guarantees, and the confirmed window goes in your quote.
Two small traps to avoid. First, if your family travels to Prayagraj by train and arrives on a certain morning, that is the family's arrival time, not the truck's. Second, a driver messaging that he has reached the city boundary does not mean the delivery is done. Ask for the unloading window as a separate line, along with the name of the person receiving the goods.
Planning delivery in Prayagraj by area
Prayagraj sits where the Ganga and Yamuna meet, and that geography is the practical point for a move. Which bank of the river you are on, and how a vehicle reaches it, can matter more than the straight-line distance on a map. Give the exact address and entrance, not just the locality name.
Civil Lines, Ashok Nagar and George Town
These areas often mean apartment buildings or colonies with their own rules. Ask the building about truck parking, whether a lift can be reserved, and whether there is a tower or block restriction. Whether a large vehicle can stand at the entrance or a shuttle is needed is a question for that specific building.
Katra, Chowk and Daraganj
Older and busier lanes need a conversation. Do not assume that trucks are banned, and do not assume they can reach the door. Ask for the actual permitted stopping point, how far the carry is from there, and whether large furniture can turn the staircase. Agree the carry before the move so it does not become an argument on the day.
Naini, Jhusi and Phaphamau
Here, the approach matters. Share the full address and say which side of the river it lies on, so the vehicle is routed to the right crossing instead of heading into the city centre and backtracking. The route should be planned to the address, not just to the city.
Campus housing and offices
For a university hostel, staff quarter or office, ask for the receiving approval and the name of someone who will be there to accept the goods. Do not assume every campus or building shares the same hours, because they do not. A named receiver with a phone number prevents a loaded truck waiting at a gate.
Magh Mela and river-approach checks for your receiving date
The district describes Magh Mela as an annual gathering at the Sangam. If your delivery window overlaps it, have the operator check current local traffic directions for the actual vehicle and approach, and ask the receiver to confirm the usable gate and stopping point. A Daraganj or Jhusi address and a home reached through another river crossing need their own checks; the event name alone does not establish that every bridge or road is closed.
If the intended stop or carry path changes, revise the access line in the quote before dispatch. Compare a revised pickup or unloading appointment with any expressly accepted waiting or holding arrangement, including custody, location and additional handling. Check the family’s train plan separately: moving the truck appointment does not change the train arrival, the essentials carried by the family or who can receive the goods.
For heavy-rain or high-water warnings affecting your approach, ask the receiver about the actual road and dry unloading path close to arrival, and have the operator check official directions. A ready room does not establish a usable approach. Reconfirm the gate, named receiver and accepted waiting plan after any change rather than assuming that a smaller vehicle can bypass an affected road.
Car and bike transport from Gurgaon to Prayagraj
Moving a car or bike is a separate job from moving the household. The vehicle does not automatically travel on the same days as your goods, and it should not be bundled into the house price without being stated.
| Vehicle | Planning range |
|---|---|
| Commuter scooter or bike | Rs. 4,000–6,000 |
| Heavy bike | Rs. 6,600–9,900 |
| Hatchback, standard open carrier | Rs. 6,000–10,000 |
| Sedan or standard SUV | Rs. 9,000–14,500 |
| Enclosed carrier, luxury, EV or non-running vehicle | Assessed individually |
These figures are for planning and do not cover every vehicle or every carrier type. The carrier type, the pickup and drop addresses and the days involved should all be written in the quote.
Before the vehicle is collected, photograph all sides and note existing scratches, take out personal items, agree the key handover, receipt and document copies needed by the carrier; retain your originals as appropriate, and ask what fuel level or charge the carrier wants. If you will not be there at either end, name an authorised person who can sign the condition note at pickup and at delivery. Keep the signed condition record and the delivery contact with your move documents.
A worked 2BHK quote, counted once
Here is how a quote can be laid out so each rupee is counted only once. This is an illustration for understanding the structure, not an actual invoice.
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Packing, loading, road transport and unloading, including agreed tolls | Rs. 22,500 |
| Agreed long carry at the Prayagraj address | Rs. 1,500 |
| Total before excluded tax and any selected cover | Rs. 24,000 |
Notice what is not repeated. Tolls sit inside the main line because they were agreed as included, so they do not appear again. The long carry is a separate line because it is specific to the address. If a shuttle replaces that same carry stretch, agree the revised line and total instead of charging both for the identical work. A separate carry from the shuttle stopping point to the home must be described separately if required.
If a quote you receive lists tolls inside the main figure and again below it, or shows a carry charge and a shuttle charge for the same stretch, ask which one applies.
What can add to the quote
Some items are added to the price only if they are not already included, which is why the scope lines matter. Check each of these against the quote.
- Tax, where applicable. Ask for the breakdown instead of a bare percentage.
- Selected transit cover, if you choose it.
- Special crates for items such as a glass-top table, a large mirror or a piano.
- Technician work for ACs, geysers or modular units.
- Furniture dismantling and reassembly beyond the standard scope.
- A long carry from the truck to the door, stair carry without a lift, or a shuttle where the truck cannot reach.
- Storage, if the new home is not ready.
Building deposits, society move-in charges and parking fees are separate. Ask who collects each amount and which deposits are refundable before the date is fixed.
First-night plan for a family arriving by train
If your family travels by train while the goods follow on a truck, plan for separate arrival times. A little preparation keeps the first night comfortable even if the truck arrives later than you.
- Make a numbered inventory before packing, with carton numbers, and keep a copy on your phone.
- Mark one or two cartons clearly as open first, and note their numbers on the list.
- Put in them what a family needs on day one: spare bedding, towels and basic kitchen items you can wait for until unloading.
- Carry medicines, chargers, toiletries, essential clothes, valuables and original documents with you. Items needed before the truck arrives should be in your travel bag, not the open-first cartons.
- Give the mover the name and number of the person who will be at the Prayagraj address to receive the goods, especially if you arrive later than the truck.
- On arrival, check the open-first cartons against the list before the rest are carried in.
If the truck arrives before you do, the named receiver can start by checking carton numbers against the inventory. If you arrive first, have the rooms ready and ask the crew to identify those carton numbers as unloading begins. Either way, the numbered list is what turns a busy handover into a checked one.
Services on this route
On the Gurgaon to Prayagraj route, ALPM can plan and quote the following. The final mode, scope and availability are agreed for each move.
- Household packing, loading, transport and unloading for homes of different sizes.
- Office goods, including furniture, files and equipment, with a numbered inventory and a clear receiving plan at the other end.
- Local and intercity transport, either shared or dedicated, depending on the load.
- Car and bike coordination, assessed for the specific vehicle and handover.
- Storage on request, where a gap between homes needs bridging.
Office moves work best when each desk or room is tagged and the receiving floor is mapped in advance, so unloading follows a plan. Asset owners should also note serial numbers and keep invoices for IT equipment.
Packing and loading process
A long-distance move goes more smoothly when each step has a clear job. This is how we plan it.
- Inventory. Share photos or do a video walk-through so we can list the furniture, appliances and cartons, and note anything fragile or high-value.
- Written scope. We set out what is included, the mode, the expected window and any extras.
- Packing. Fragile items, kitchenware and electronics are packed with suitable materials, and cartons are numbered against the list.
- Loading. The crew plans weight distribution and secures items according to the vehicle and load. The load is checked against the inventory as it goes on.
- Dispatch and road. Dispatch follows the agreed mode, and the driver confirms the road, permitted conditions and tolls.
- Unloading and placement. Cartons are carried in, matched to the list, and furniture is placed where you point.
- Handover check. You and the receiver sign off against the inventory and note any concern right away.
Gurgaon pickup and local moving guidance

Delivery-day checklist
A few minutes of preparation before the truck arrives saves a lot of time during unloading.
- Confirm the exact address, entrance, parking spot and the name of the person who will be there.
- Check lift booking, society permission and move-in timing with the building.
- Clear the path from the entrance to the rooms, and protect floors if needed.
- Keep the numbered inventory ready and tick cartons off as they come in.
- Open the first-night cartons and check fragile and electronic items before signing off.
- Photograph any damage and mention it on the handover note the same day.
- Keep cash or payment arrangements only as agreed in the written quote.
Why enquire with ALPM
ALPM is a named, registered business: AGARWAL LOGISTICS PACKERS AND MOVERS, trading as Agarwal (ALPM) Packers and Movers, with GST registration 36FDRPM0957B1ZC and trademark number 7901417. The registered location is Old Bowenpally, Secunderabad, Telangana. You can enquire directly on +91 94671 86002 and speak to the business that will actually plan the move.
We build an itemised inventory with you, write down the scope of the move, and agree the mode before the booking. Ask who will send the dispatch update and the pre-arrival message, and make sure your receiver has that contact. Access arrangements and selected cover should be recorded in the estimate.
That approach suits families who want to understand what they are paying for, and office owners who need a clear scope and a named receiver on the other side.
How to compare two moving quotes fairly
Two quotes only compare if they describe the same job. Before choosing on price alone, put them side by side and check these points.
- Is the scope written: packing, loading, transport, unloading, and any dismantling or reassembly?
- Is the mode clear: shared or dedicated, and what window goes with it?
- Are tolls and any carry or shuttle included or extra?
- Does the business name on the quote match the name on the GST and invoice paperwork?
- Is any cover described in writing, with its actual terms, instead of a phrase like fully insured?
- Is there a named person responsible for the move, and a number that works on the move day?
A good quote can be lower than another and still be the better one, if it is the one that tells you what happens at the Prayagraj door. A very low figure with a vague scope often becomes a different number on the day. This is true for any mover, not only for one type of company.
Documents, waybill and transit cover
Separate household goods, office assets and new purchases on the inventory so the operator can confirm the right transport papers.
The e-way bill rules list qualifying used personal and household effects among exempt goods. Do not apply a blanket value-above-₹50,000 requirement to that category. If you are moving new purchases, stock or business assets, the classification is different, so ask the operator or your accountant to decide what applies. Do not assume the household exemption covers office stock or new items.
For invoices, ask for the identity details, the invoice and the tax breakdown in writing instead of relying on a verbal promise. Keep an inventory with serial numbers and purchase invoices for electronics, because they help with any later cover discussion.
For a car or bike, ask the operator which papers are needed, such as the registration certificate, your ID and insurance details, and keep copies with you. On transit cover, choose it deliberately, ask for the actual policy terms, and read what is covered and what is excluded. Confirm the insurer, declared value, exclusions, deductible, reporting deadline and claim documents before dispatch.
