Home goods or business freight? Divide the enquiry before pricing

A move can involve two different types of goods. One is a family's own used belongings. The other is goods that belong to a business: stock, new boxed items, samples, machines or office equipment. Each is packed, priced and documented differently. Before anyone discusses a rate, please split them into separate lists.

Why the split changes the quote

  • Used personal and household effects that move with a family fall under different transport paperwork from a commercial consignment. Business goods may need an invoice, a delivery challan or an e-way bill, so confirm the responsible issuer and transporter details with the business, accountant and operator.
  • Household goods are counted by carton and by item. Commercial stock is usually counted unit by unit and valued per unit.
  • Equipment may need its own assessment, a handling method and written approval before it can be accepted at all.
  • Transit cover is based on declared value. Stock mixed into a household list distorts both the value and the claim record.

What belongs on each list

Separate lists for a mixed Noida to Ludhiana enquiry
ListWhat it holdsWhat to send with it
HouseholdFurniture, appliances, kitchen items, clothes, books and personal belongings you own and useA room-by-room inventory, photos of large or fragile pieces, and an approximate declared value
Commercial stockGarments, fabric rolls, finished goods, samples, new boxed itemsItem and unit counts, invoice or challan details, value, and the name of the receiver
Office or business assetsWorkstations, chairs, storage units, computers, printers, filesAn asset list with tag numbers if you use them, photos, and an IT contact
EquipmentMachines, tools, large electrical unitsMaker, model, dimensions, weight, photos, and site access details at both ends

Transport-only rates versus a full move

A transport-only listing may cover the vehicle between two points while leaving packing and handling to you. A household move also covers packing materials, a packing crew, loading at your door, unloading, placement and sometimes reassembly. When you compare a freight rate with a household quote, go line by line and check whether packing, labour, loading, unloading and assembly are included. If they are not, the lower figure is simply for less work.

Noida to Ludhiana shifting charges: planning bands and what they cover

The ranges below are planning bands for a typical household with normal access at both ends. They are not a fixed ALPM tariff. Once your inventory and building access are known, the written quote can land inside the band or outside it. The low end of a band does not mean a shared truck, and the high end does not mean a dedicated one. Mode is a separate choice, covered below.

Household planning bands, Noida to Ludhiana
Home sizePlanning bandWhat usually moves the figure
1BHK₹12,000–₹19,500Number of cartons, whether a bed and wardrobe need dismantling, and whether a fridge and washer are included
2BHK₹18,500–₹31,000Furniture volume, glass and fragile items, floor level and lift access
3BHK₹28,500–₹46,000Heavy wooden furniture, number of appliances, stairs or a long carry
4BHK or largerQuoted after an inventory assessmentLarge homes vary too much for a reliable published band
Vehicle planning bands, Noida to Ludhiana

Standard running car₹9,500–₹15,500Mode assessed for the car. Enclosed carriage is not automatic.
Standard bike₹5,000–₹8,300Padding and securing agreed in the quote
EV, non-running, heavy, premium or modifiedIndividually assessedLoading method, cover and handling confirmed before booking

Agree the core household scope

  • Packing materials and the packing crew, charged once
  • Loading at the Noida address
  • Transport to Ludhiana in the agreed mode
  • Unloading and placement in the rooms you name, with normal access
  • Basic reassembly of items the crew dismantled, if agreed

Charged separately unless written into the quote

  • GST as applicable
  • Optional transit cover based on your declared value
  • Storage or holding if the Ludhiana address is not ready
  • Wooden crating for specific items
  • Waiting time beyond what was agreed
  • Extra floors without a lift, or a long carry from the truck to the door
  • Work by qualified technicians, such as AC, wall mounting or plumbing
  • A smaller shuttle vehicle where the main truck cannot reach
  • Tolls and parking, where the quote does not include them
  • Society or building deposits

Include the agreed packing work once in the core household price. It should not reappear as a separate packing-and-loading charge on top of the core figure. If a quote shows both, ask what each line is for.

A worked example (hypothetical)

This example is for illustration only. It is not a past job or invoice. Suppose a 2BHK quote has a core price of ₹24,000 covering packing, loading, transport and unloading. Before the move, you learn the truck cannot reach the tower entrance at your Ludhiana address, and you agree in writing to a long carry at ₹1,500. The total is ₹25,500 before applicable GST and any cover you choose. Nothing for packing is added a second time.

Few items and office goods

Small loads and office moves are priced from the actual item list: dimensions, count, approximate weight, packing needed and access at both ends. We do not quote per box, per kilo or per cubic foot without seeing that list. Truck rate cards on freight sites describe a vehicle hire between two points, not a door-to-door household price.

Distance, route options and realistic delivery time

By road, Noida to Ludhiana is about 345–370 km, depending on where in Noida you start and where in Ludhiana you end. When we checked current map routing, the options took roughly 5 to 6¼ hours by private car. They were labelled along NE5 and NH352A, and for some addresses the last stretch ran on the Ludhiana–Sangrur Road. These labels describe parts of a journey, not one fixed corridor every vehicle follows.

Why a car's drive time is not a moving time

  • Loaded goods vehicles travel slower than cars and stop for driver rest.
  • Cities can restrict when heavy vehicles enter, so a truck may wait for a permitted window.
  • The operator chooses a route that goods vehicles may use on that date. Check current closures and diversions close to the move.
  • Packing, loading and unloading take hours of their own, especially for a 3BHK or a home with stairs.

Two clocks, defined clearly

Provisional delivery windows by mode
ModeWhen the clock starts and stopsProvisional window
Dedicated vehicleFrom packing at Noida through unloading in LudhianaAbout 1–2 days
Shared vehicleFrom pickup, including time to consolidate with other consignmentsAbout 2–4 days, and can be longer
Car or bikeSeparate collection and handover datesConfirmed after assessment

These windows are planning estimates based on the distance, rest stops and handling. They are not a guarantee or a record of ALPM trips. Your written quote should state the window for your chosen mode and when it starts.

What can stretch the window

  • Reduced visibility if fog affects the chosen route
  • Heavy monsoon rain
  • Festival traffic and long weekends
  • Waiting for keys, a society slot or the receiver at delivery
  • A shared load waiting for other consignments

Noida pickup: gate passes, service lifts and loading slots

Check the Noida building’s permissions, goods lift and loading space before fixing the pickup slot. These details tell the crew how the goods can reach the vehicle.

Arrange with your society or landlord

  • Move-out permission and a gate pass. Some societies list the vehicle number and want maintenance dues cleared first.
  • A service lift booking, plus padding for the lift walls if the society requires it
  • The permitted loading hours, as some societies do not allow heavy vehicles at certain times
  • A parking spot for the truck close to your tower, and whether a large vehicle can enter the campus at all
  • Basement or podium height, if the truck has to go below ground

Tell us before the survey

  • The floor number, and whether a lift is available for goods
  • The lift's internal size, so we know whether a fridge or wardrobe panel fits upright
  • The walking distance from the likely truck position to your door
  • Any stairs on the way, including a few steps at a lobby or gate
  • Pieces that may need to come down by stairs or be dismantled to fit

If loading is allowed only during a short slot, ask whether earlier packing or a separate packing day is practical and how it changes the quote.

Plan packing and building access at your Noida pickup

Ludhiana receiving: homes, Focal Point phases and goods gates

Confirm the exact delivery entrance and approach for your address, and name one person who can receive the goods and sign.

Residential addresses

  • The full address with house number, a nearby landmark and the PIN code
  • A map pin for the gate the truck should use
  • The street width near the door, and whether a large vehicle can turn or park there
  • Any colony or society timing for goods vehicles
  • The floor, lift availability and stairs
  • Who holds the keys, and the name and phone number of the person receiving

Focal Point: phase, plot and goods gate on one sheet

Focal Point is not a single address. It is divided into several numbered phases. Published industrial-park information for Phase IV-A lists units in textiles and apparel, machinery and motor-vehicle related manufacturing. Phases such as IV, V, VI, VII and VIII are separate areas nearby. A driver told only to go to Focal Point can easily end up at the wrong phase. Before the vehicle leaves Noida, fill in this sheet:

Focal Point delivery sheet

PhaseThe exact phase, such as IV-A or VIIPhases are separate areas with different approaches

Send the sheet with your enquiry, then confirm it again the day before delivery.

Packing a household for the Ludhiana road move

Road transport involves vibration, braking and handling, so the packing must support the item throughout the journey. Good packing matches the material to the item rather than wrapping everything the same way.

Materials matched to the item

  • Small, strong cartons for books and files, so no single box becomes too heavy to lift safely
  • Bubble wrap or foam for glassware, decor and small electronics
  • Corrugated sheets and moving blankets for wooden furniture
  • Stretch film over a protective layer, not directly on polished wood, lacquer or fresh paint
  • Edge protectors and stiff board for mirrors, glass tabletops and framed pictures
  • Dividers or crumpled paper in crockery cartons, so nothing touches its neighbour

Fragile and glass items

Plates travel on their edge, wrapped individually. Glasses are filled and wrapped before they go into a divided carton. Mirrors and glass tops are boarded on both faces, with the carrying and loading position agreed for each piece’s size, weight and construction. Every fragile carton is marked fragile and this side up, and the crew loads these cartons where nothing heavy sits on top.

Wooden furniture and hardware

  • Beds, wardrobe doors and table legs are dismantled only where they were designed to come apart.
  • Photograph joints before dismantling, or agree that the crew will, so reassembly matches.
  • Screws, bolts and fittings go into labelled bags, taped to the matching part or listed in one hardware box on the inventory.
  • Agree padding, support and transport orientation for large panels according to their construction and maker guidance.

Numbered inventory and room placement

Each carton and loose item gets a number, a room name and a short contents note. You keep a copy of the inventory. In Ludhiana, put a room name on each door or share a simple floor plan, so cartons go straight to the right room. That makes the delivery count quicker too.

Assembly and unpacking, as agreed

Decide before booking how much unpacking you want: none, the kitchen and bedrooms only, or everything. List reassembly of each dismantled piece in the agreed scope. Wall mounting, electrical or plumbing connections and AC installation need a qualified person and are normally quoted separately. Removal of packing debris should be written into the scope.

What to pack yourself

Keep a first-night bag with clothes, chargers, medicines and essential documents. Carry jewellery, cash and anything irreplaceable yourself.

Packing and handling of household goods
Packing detail: cushioning, edge protection and readable item labels should be chosen for each piece. Agree the protection and handling in your own inventory.

Fridge, washing machine and other electricals

Appliances travel best when they are prepared according to the maker's manual. Our crew's habits are no substitute for it. If you cannot find the manual, the maker's support line can usually help.

Refrigerator

  • Empty it in time to prepare it according to its manual. Defrost if needed, drain any water, then clean and dry the inside.
  • Prepare loose shelves and secure doors using the method in the manual and suitable protective materials.
  • Keep it in the orientation the manual recommends during transport.
  • At Ludhiana, wait the period the manual advises before switching on, so the system can settle.

Washing machine

  • Run a drain cycle, empty the filter if your model allows, and leave the drum and door seal to dry.
  • If your model uses transit bolts or drum locks, fit them before the move and remove them before the first wash.
  • If the bolts are missing, ask the maker or an authorised technician what your model needs. Don't improvise.

Televisions, ACs and other electricals

  • Use the original box for a TV if you still have it. Otherwise pad the screen on all sides and follow the maker's guidance on transport orientation.
  • AC removal and reinstallation should be done by a qualified technician and quoted separately.
  • Photograph cable connections before unplugging anything you will set up again yourself.
  • Inverter batteries need separate handling. Mention them in your inventory so we can advise.

Textile and mixed-load handover: count units inside the carton

Households often move a lot of fabric: wardrobes of clothes, quilts, shawls and wedding wear. Some customers also have a small amount of garment or fabric stock. Choose wrapping for the fabric and embellishments rather than using the same layers for every piece. What helps is careful preparation and a count you can check at the other end.

Before anything is packed

  • Pack textiles clean and completely dry, since damp fabric sealed in a carton can mark or develop odour.
  • Follow care labels for wool, silk and delicate weaves.
  • Separate embellished, beaded or sequinned pieces from plain fabric, so they cannot snag their neighbours.
  • Use a soft, non-abrasive layer such as cotton sheeting or tissue against delicate surfaces.
  • Do not vacuum-compress delicate or structured pieces as a matter of routine. Decide item by item.

A count sheet for each carton

Textile carton count sheet (sample row is illustrative)
Carton no.Owner or departmentCategoryUnits insideSeal condition at delivery
T-07Household, main bedroomQuilts and bedsheets14To be checked on arrival

Count the units before the carton is sealed, and note the count on your private checklist with photos and a declared value. At delivery, check that each seal is unbroken and that the carton number appears on the inventory. Write any exception on the delivery record before you sign.

Personal clothes and business stock stay apart

If you also move garment samples or fabric stock, pack it in its own cartons with its own list, value and documents. Do not mix stock into wardrobe cartons. It confuses the count, the cover and any paperwork the consignment needs.

A plastic inner lining helps keep out dust and light moisture, but it is not waterproofing. If holding is needed, confirm the actual storage conditions and access terms.

Equipment readiness: what a survey must settle before you book

A household price never includes industrial or commercial equipment. If your enquiry covers a machine, a heavy tool or a large electrical unit, these points have to be settled before anyone can say whether it can be moved, how, and at what cost.

Information we need

  • Maker, model and serial reference
  • Dimensions and weight, and the packed size if it will be crated
  • The centre of gravity or lifting points, where the maker specifies them
  • Clear photos from all sides, including mounting points
  • The approximate value, for cover
  • Site access at both ends: door widths, ramps, floor loading, docks and the distance to the vehicle

Who does what

  • Your own qualified engineer or technician isolates power, disconnects the unit, secures moving parts as the maker instructs, and later recommissions it at Ludhiana.
  • The moving crew does not disconnect or reconnect equipment.
  • Responsibility for loading and unloading at each site is agreed in writing, including who provides lifting equipment and an operator if needed.

When specialised handling is needed

Heavy or delicate equipment may need crating, lifting gear, a trained operator or a particular vehicle. Whether these can be arranged safely for your dates depends on the assessment and on availability. Nothing is accepted on the strength of a household booking. If we cannot arrange suitable handling, we will tell you plainly so you can approach a specialist.

Office moves: physical assets, IT and paperwork

Build the office move around its asset list, destination layout and technical handover. The handling time depends on the inventory and access at both premises.

Plan the physical assets

  • Build an asset list of workstations, chairs, storage, printers and screens, with tag numbers if you use them.
  • Label each item by department and desk, using the same codes on a floor plan for the Ludhiana office.
  • Check both buildings' rules for goods lifts and permitted moving hours.
  • Modular workstations are dismantled with fittings bagged and listed, so they go back together correctly.

IT equipment

  • Your own qualified IT person backs up the data and checks that the backup works before anything is switched off.
  • The same person carries out a proper shutdown, labels cables and ports, and recommissions systems at the new office.
  • Passwords and access credentials stay with your team and are never shared with the moving crew.
  • Servers and network equipment are packed in the way your IT team specifies.

Paperwork and business records

  • Pack confidential files in sealed, numbered cartons, and keep the list yourself.
  • Keep invoices or challans ready for business assets and any goods that are not household effects, so the consignment carries the documents it needs.
  • Decide who from your side signs at pickup and at delivery.

Car and bike transport from Noida to Ludhiana

Vehicles are assessed and scheduled separately from the household load. Collection and handover can fall on different days from your furniture.

Records at handover

  • Photos of all sides, the roof and the wheels, in daylight
  • The odometer reading
  • A count of keys handed over
  • Copies of the RC and insurance. Keep the originals as advised for your transport mode.
  • Existing scratches and dents noted on a condition report that both sides sign

Fuel, battery, EV and FASTag

Follow the instructions of both the transport operator and the vehicle maker. Some carriers ask for a low fuel level, and EV makers give their own guidance on charge level and transport. Don't drain fuel, disconnect a battery or remove a FASTag as a blanket rule. Ask what your vehicle and the chosen carrier actually need, and keep a note of the arrangement.

Choosing the mode

  • Cars may travel on an open or enclosed carrier, depending on assessment and availability. Enclosed carriage and crating are not automatic.
  • Agree padding, securing and handling for the bike. Remove or secure accessories only where appropriate for the model and transport method, recording any parts handed over.
  • EVs, non-running vehicles, heavy or premium vehicles, and modified vehicles are assessed one by one before a price is confirmed.

At delivery

Check the vehicle against the photos and condition report before signing. Note any new mark on the report itself, not just in a message afterwards.

Few items, students and part loads

A room-sized inventory or a few cartons can be assessed for a shared load or a suitable dedicated vehicle. Small loads are still priced from what is actually moving, so a clear list gets you a useful answer quickly.

What to send

  • Each item with approximate dimensions, such as a study table, mattress, bicycle or two suitcases
  • The number of cartons and roughly how heavy they are
  • Whether you want packing or will pack yourself
  • Floor, lift and walking distance at both ends

Furnished rooms and shared flats

List only what is yours. The landlord's mattress, curtains or appliances stay behind. Agree the move-out time with the owner or warden, and finish any deposit inspection before the crew arrives, so nothing is packed by mistake.

Shared mode and timing

Small loads often travel in a shared vehicle. That can reduce cost, but the window runs from pickup, includes consolidation with other consignments, and can be longer than a dedicated move. If you need goods on a specific date for a joining day or exam, say so at the start.

Rain, fog and wet goods

Weather affects timing and handling on this route at both ends of the year. We plan for it openly rather than promising it won't matter.

Monsoon moves

  • Rain covers are used over the load where the vehicle and route allow.
  • Cartons are staged on a stable, dry surface, not on wet ground or in an open driveway.
  • Loading or unloading pauses during heavy rain rather than pushing on.
  • Any carton that gets wet is recorded by number on the inventory at that moment.
  • Any electrical item that got wet should be inspected by a qualified person before it is powered on.

No road move can be guaranteed waterproof. A careful record of what got wet is what protects you if something needs attention later.

Winter fog

Dense fog across the plains in December and January can slow long road legs considerably. A responsible operator adjusts driving for visibility. In fog season, treat delivery dates as more flexible, and avoid booking a non-movable event for the same day as delivery.

Documents, e-way bills and items kept out of the load

Household moves

Under the GST e-way bill rules, used personal and household effects are generally exempt from needing an e-way bill. For a normal family move, keep your inventory, the written quote and an ID handy. If your employer reimburses the move, check their paperwork requirements early. We can't promise that any particular employer accepts any particular document or approval.

Commercial stock and business assets

New goods, trade stock and business assets are a different consignment. Whether they need an invoice, a delivery challan or an e-way bill depends on the goods, their value and the transaction. Confirm this with your accountant and the operator before the move date, and agree who issues each required document and supplies the operator’s details.

Items that cannot go in a household load

  • Gas cylinders, petrol, diesel or kerosene
  • Paints, thinners, acids, pesticides and other chemicals
  • Fireworks and anything flammable or pressurised

Items like these need an appropriately authorised service. They are not packed with furniture and clothes.

Keep these with you

  • Cash, jewellery and other valuables
  • Original documents, passports, certificates and property papers
  • Medicines and prescriptions
  • Laptops and drives that hold personal or work data
  • Keys to both homes

Transit cover, claims, payment and changes

Optional transit cover

Cover is optional, and it is based on the value you declare. Before you choose it, read and confirm:

  • What is covered and what is excluded. Common exclusions include pre-existing damage, cartons you packed yourself, and internal mechanical or electrical faults.
  • The deadline for raising a claim after delivery
  • The records a claim needs, usually the inventory, photos and a delivery record with exceptions noted
  • The premium, which is stated in your quote. We don't publish a fixed percentage here because it depends on the cover selected.

Payment terms

Before you pay any advance, the quote should state the advance amount, when the balance is due, the accepted payment methods, and how receipts and GST details will be issued. Pay against a written quote, not a verbal figure.

Changes, cancellation and holding

  • How a change of date is handled, and any charge for it
  • How the price changes if the inventory grows or shrinks
  • The cancellation terms at different stages
  • If your Ludhiana address is not ready: the holding custodian, location, duration, access, cost, and redelivery window and charge

Storage is arranged on request. The location, duration, access and charges are confirmed before booking.

How booking works, step by step

  1. Share your inventory and both full addresses, including floors, lifts and, for business addresses, the phase, plot and goods gate.
  2. Agree a survey, by video call or a visit where practical, so large and fragile items are seen rather than guessed.
  3. Settle the scope: packing, dismantling, placement, unpacking, vehicles, storage and any separately quoted extras.
  4. Choose dedicated or shared mode and confirm the delivery window, including when that window starts.
  5. Receive a written quote that lists inclusions, exclusions, GST, cover, payment, change and cancellation terms.
  6. Check the terms and pay the advance only once the written quote matches what you discussed.
  7. On pickup day, cartons are numbered against the inventory, you get a copy, and vehicles are handed over with their own photos and condition report.
  8. You receive updates at the points agreed in advance, such as dispatch and approach to Ludhiana.
  9. At delivery, count cartons and items against the inventory, write any exceptions on the delivery record, and sign once the count is complete.
  10. Reassembly, placement and unpacking are carried out as agreed in the quote.

FAQs: Noida to Ludhiana Moving

What budget should I plan for shifting a home from Noida to Ludhiana?
As a planning guide for normal access, a 1BHK is about ₹12,000–₹19,500, a 2BHK about ₹18,500–₹31,000 and a 3BHK about ₹28,500–₹46,000. A 4BHK is quoted after an inventory assessment. These are not fixed tariffs. GST, optional cover, storage, long carry, extra stairs, technicians and similar work are added only if they apply and are written into the quote. Packing is charged once, inside the household price.
What is the road distance from Noida to Ludhiana?
It is roughly 345–370 km, depending on the exact pickup and delivery addresses. Current map routing showed options labelled along NE5 and NH352A, taking about 5 to 6¼ hours by private car. A loaded goods vehicle takes longer, and the operator chooses a permitted route for the actual date.
When should I expect delivery of my Ludhiana household load?
With a dedicated vehicle, plan for about 1–2 days, counted from packing in Noida through unloading in Ludhiana. With a shared vehicle, plan for about 2–4 days from pickup, including consolidation, and it can take longer. Fog, heavy rain, festival traffic or waiting at delivery can extend either window. Your quote should state the window for your chosen mode.
I am a student or only have a few items. Can you move a small load?
Yes. Send a list of items with rough dimensions, the number of cartons, whether you need packing, and the floor and lift details at both ends. Ask for the available shared and dedicated options, their payable totals and defined delivery windows. In a furnished room or PG, list only your own belongings and agree the move-out time with the owner or warden.
Do I need to show that the goods belong to me?
For a household move, a clear inventory of your own used belongings is the main record. Keep ID and the written quote handy. If any goods belong to a business, such as stock, samples or new items, list them separately with their invoice or challan details, because they may need different documents from household effects.
My Noida society needs a gate pass and lift booking. Who arranges it?
The society deals with residents, so you usually apply for move-out permission, the gate pass and the service lift slot yourself. Some societies also want the vehicle number and cleared dues. Tell us the permitted hours, the lift size and the truck parking position, and we will plan packing and loading around them.
Can you deliver to a unit in Focal Point, Ludhiana?
Delivery to a business address is possible once the goods and access have been assessed. Focal Point has several separate phases, so give us the exact phase, plot and unit number, business name, PIN, goods gate with a map pin, receiver's name and phone, who can sign for the count, and receiving hours. Commercial equipment needs its own assessment before it is accepted.
Can my car and bike be moved along with the household goods?
Yes, but they are assessed and scheduled separately, and collection and handover can fall on different days. As a planning guide, a standard running car is about ₹9,500–₹15,500 and a standard bike about ₹5,000–₹8,300. EVs, non-running vehicles, heavy or premium vehicles, and modified vehicles are assessed one by one. Enclosed carriage is not automatic.
Is transit cover included in the price?
Cover is optional and is based on the value you declare. If you choose it, the quote states the premium, what is excluded, the claim deadline and the records needed for a claim. Keep the inventory and photos, and note any problem on the delivery record before you sign.
Which documents should I keep ready, and is an e-way bill needed?
For a household move, keep your ID, the inventory and the written quote. Under the GST rules, used personal and household effects are generally exempt from e-way bills. Commercial stock, new goods and business assets are different. Check their invoice, challan or e-way bill needs with your accountant and the operator before the move.
Can you hold my goods if the Ludhiana house is not ready?
Holding can be requested subject to availability. Confirm the named custodian, location, duration, access, cost, and redelivery window and charge in writing before loading if the receiving address is uncertain.
What happens if my moving date or inventory changes after booking?
Tell us as early as possible. A date change depends on availability and on the change terms in your quote. A larger or smaller inventory can change the price and possibly the vehicle. The written quote should already set out how changes, cancellations and holding charges are handled, so check these terms before paying the advance.
