Distance, Route and Delivery Time Explained
How far is Noida from Jammu by road?
On our 18 October 2026 map check, the suggested driving routes between the two cities ranged from about 634 km to 669 km. The labels shown were NH44, or NE5 combined with NH44. Those labels describe the suggested routes. They do not describe every kilometre of the corridor, and the road a goods vehicle actually takes is confirmed by the transport operator for your move.
Treat 635–670 km as a city-to-city guide. Your own pickup in Noida, Greater Noida or Noida Extension, and your delivery address in or around Jammu, can sit outside those points and change the distance.
Driving time is not move time
The same map check gave about 10.5 to 13 hours for a private car. That figure helps you picture the journey. It is not how long a loaded goods vehicle takes, and it is not how long your move takes. A household move also includes:
- packing and loading in Noida
- vehicle running time with driving-hour limits and rest
- queueing, loading and unloading windows at both ends
- unloading, placing furniture and any reassembly you have agreed
Moves are therefore planned in days rather than hours.
Dedicated vehicle versus shared load
| Mode | Provisional planning window | What the window includes | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dedicated vehicle | 2–4 days | Packing day through unloading in Jammu | Full homes and fixed joining or handover dates. Fragile or high-value items need suitable packing, support and agreed transfer handling in either mode. |
| Shared load | 4–7 days, sometimes longer | From pickup, including time to consolidate with other consignments | Small loads, students, PG rooms, flexible dates |
Both windows are planning allowances, not guarantees. Weather, road conditions, holidays, vehicle availability and access at the Jammu door can all change them. Before you pay an advance, agree the pickup date and the expected delivery window in writing.
When cars and bikes arrive
Separately booked vehicle carriage has its own collection and handover window. Bikes may travel with household goods if that arrangement is agreed. Do not assume your car arrives on the same day as your cartons. Plan the vehicle calendar separately, as explained in the handover section below.
Noida to Jammu Shifting Charges by Home Size and Vehicle
These bands are planning guides built for this route. They are not ALPM's fixed tariff, and they are not a promise that your move falls inside them. They exist to help you budget and to spot a quote that is missing scope or padding it.
Household shifting charges
| Home size | Planning band | What usually moves the figure within the band |
|---|---|---|
| 1 BHK | ₹15,500–₹25,000 | Number of cartons, a fridge and washing machine or not, a bed with storage, mode chosen |
| 2 BHK | ₹23,000–₹37,500 | Wardrobes and dismantling, sofa sets, number of appliances, fragile items needing extra layers |
| 3 BHK | ₹34,500–₹55,500 | Total volume, heavy furniture, glass, wooden crating, access at both ends |
| 4 BHK and villas | Inventory assessment | Priced only after a survey; volume varies too widely for a fair fixed band |
A band is not split so that the lower end means shared load and the upper end means a dedicated vehicle. Where your figure falls depends on your inventory, packing level, access and mode together.
Car and bike transport charges
| Vehicle | Planning band | Assessed separately when |
|---|---|---|
| Standard running car | ₹11,000–₹18,500 | Enclosed carrier is requested, or the car is an EV, non-running, heavy, premium or modified |
| Standard bike | ₹5,700–₹9,500 | High-capacity, premium or modified bikes, electric two-wheelers, or a bike that does not run |
The car band is not automatically an enclosed-carrier price. If you want enclosed carriage, ask for it and check that it is written into the quote.
What the core price covers and what is separate
| Usually in the core household scope | Separate unless the quote says it is included |
|---|---|
| Packing materials and packing labour for the agreed inventory | Applicable GST |
| Loading at the Noida address with normal access | Transit cover you choose |
| Transport to the agreed Jammu address | Storage or holding, wooden crates, refundable deposits |
| Unloading with normal access | Technician work, waiting time, stairs without a usable lift, long carry, shuttle vehicle, tolls and parking where not included |
Each item should appear once. If packing sits in the base price, it should not reappear as a separate line, and the same applies to every other item.
Worked example (hypothetical)
This example is invented to show how the arithmetic works. It is not an actual job, invoice or ALPM price.
- A 2 BHK inventory is quoted at a base of ₹29,000, covering packing, labour, loading, transport and unloading with normal access.
- At the Jammu end, the vehicle cannot stop near the door, so a long carry is agreed at ₹1,500.
- Subtotal: ₹29,000 + ₹1,500 = ₹30,500.
- Applicable tax, any cover selected and any separately agreed work such as a technician visit are then added as written in the quote. Packing is counted once, inside the base.
Few items, PG rooms and office goods
For a few items, a student room or an office consignment, there is no honest per-kg or per-seat figure that fits every case. A useful quote is built from item dimensions and approximate weight, the packing needed, access at both ends, the mode (shared or dedicated) and, for offices, the asset list. Send photos and measurements of large pieces and you will get a firmer figure sooner.
Moving Services Available for the Noida to Jammu Route
Every service below is agreed per move. The quote records what is included, the mode of transport and the dates, so that nothing is assumed on the day.
Full household shifting
This covers a complete home: kitchen, wardrobes, beds, sofas, appliances, books and decor. The team packs room by room, numbers each carton against an inventory you check and sign, loads, transports and unloads at your Jammu address. Families with school dates or a fixed joining day usually choose a dedicated vehicle so the calendar is not tied to other consignments.
Few-item, student and PG moves
If you are moving a bed, a study table, a fridge and a dozen cartons, a full vehicle is often more than you need. A shared load can work out cheaper, but its dispatch and delivery depend on the consolidation planned for that booking and may take longer. List every item with rough dimensions, say whether you need packing or have already packed, and mention any lift or stair limits at both ends.
Office relocation
Office moves are planned around an asset list rather than room size. Workstations, chairs, storage, files and IT equipment are recorded with tags or serial numbers where available. The quote names who in your organisation signs off on handover at each end. Packing and loading can be scheduled outside working hours if the building allows it.
Car and bike transport coordination
Cars and bikes are assessed and coordinated with a suitable carrier, with their own pickup and handover window. You record the vehicle's condition with photos at handover. Carrier type, such as open or enclosed, is agreed per vehicle rather than assumed.
Packing materials
Materials are matched to the item: cartons for books and kitchenware, bubble and foam layers for glass and electronics, stretch film for upholstered furniture, and corner protection for polished surfaces. Wooden crating for glass tops, artwork or very fragile pieces is quoted separately when you need it.
Loading and unloading
Loading is planned so that heavy items travel low and fragile cartons are secured on top. At Jammu, unloading includes carrying items into the rooms you name. Stairs without a usable lift, long walks from the stopping point or a smaller shuttle vehicle are identified in advance and written into the quote.
Unpacking and reassembly
Unpacking and reassembly of furniture that was dismantled for the move can be included. Agree exactly which items are covered. Wall-mounted TVs, fixed modular units, geysers and AC installation usually need a separate technician, and this should be clear before the move rather than discovered at the door.
Holding and storage
If your Jammu house is not ready when the goods arrive, a holding or storage arrangement can be requested. Location, duration, charges and access are stated in writing. Arrange this before loading rather than after the vehicle has left Noida.
Transit cover
Discuss the available transit cover and select it after reviewing the terms. The quote should show the cover type, the declared value basis and the premium or charge. Read the policy terms on what is and is not covered, and what evidence a claim needs.
Preparing the Noida Pickup: Society Rules, Lifts and Parking
Many Noida, Greater Noida and Noida Extension homes are in gated societies and high-rise towers. The pickup goes much more smoothly when building rules are sorted out before the moving team arrives.
What to check with your society or RWA
- Whether move-out needs written permission, a notice period or a gate pass for goods leaving the premises
- Permitted hours for moving and for goods vehicles entering
- Whether a service lift can be booked, and its door and car dimensions for sofas, wardrobes and fridges
- Where a goods vehicle may stand, and how far that is from your tower entrance
- Any refundable deposit or no-dues requirement before goods may leave
Tell us about access early
Share your tower, floor, lift details and parking distance when you ask for a quote. If the vehicle must stand some distance away, or the lift cannot take large items, the quote can include the extra carry or stair work up front instead of it turning into a dispute on the day.
Independent houses and builder floors
For builder floors and older sectors, check whether the lane is wide enough for a goods vehicle to stop close by and whether there is a staircase-only upper floor. Narrow staircases may need some furniture dismantled.
Getting the Jammu Delivery Address Right
A typed address, a map pin and a receiver’s directions can point to different gates. Cross-check them before dispatch so the crew has one agreed destination and stopping point.
Jammu locality and PIN cross-check
| Locality (postal list spelling) | PIN | Confirm before dispatch |
|---|---|---|
| Gandhinagar | 180004 | House or flat number, sector or lane, nearest landmark the receiver actually uses |
| Trikuta Nagar | 180012 | Exact block or sector, and where a goods vehicle can stop |
| Sainik Colony | 180011 | Sector and house number, colony gate rules, receiver's mobile number |
| Channi Himat | 180015 | Sector or lane, map pin on the actual door, distance from the stopping point |
| Talab Tillo | 180002 | Lane access for a large vehicle, whether a smaller shuttle vehicle or long carry is likely |
A PIN is a postal reference. It shows the delivery post office area, not the exact door, the lane width or the traffic rules on a given street. Locality names are also spelt in different ways (for example Channi Himat and Channi Himmat), so the map pin and the receiver's description matter more than the spelling.
Resolving an address mismatch
If the typed address, the map pin and the receiver's description do not agree, settle it before the vehicle is loaded. Confirm these in order:
- House or flat number and floor
- Street or lane name
- Locality or colony
- PIN
- A map pin dropped on the actual door or building gate, not on the colony name
- The point where a goods vehicle can stop, and how far it is from the door
- The receiver's name and mobile number, plus a backup contact
Send the confirmed set as one message so the same version reaches the coordinator and driver.
Jammu city or elsewhere in Jammu district?
Jammu district is larger than Jammu city. It includes Akhnoor, Bishnah, R.S. Pura, Nagrota and other areas that are separate from the city. A delivery to one of these is a different endpoint, with its own route, distance, access and calendar. A Jammu city price should not be assumed to cover it. Give the exact address so it can be quoted properly.
Onward trips beyond Jammu
If part of your move continues to Katra, Srinagar or another destination after Jammu, treat that leg as a separate job. It needs its own exact address, route assessment, calendar and quote. Mention it at enquiry stage so the plan does not quietly assume the city rate applies onward.
Moving to Jammu for a Posting or Transfer
If your move follows a posting or transfer, keep the reporting date, key handover and permitted unloading window separate in your plan. Goods may need a different arrival date from the person reporting for duty.
Readiness sheet
| Item | Why it matters | Who confirms |
|---|---|---|
| Reporting date | Fixes when you must be in Jammu, but not when the house is ready | Your employer |
| Allotment or lease start, and key handover date | Goods cannot be unloaded into a locked or occupied house | Allotting office or landlord |
| Earliest realistic unloading date | Sets the target delivery window for the quote | You, after the two dates above |
| Named receiver and backup | Someone must be present with authority to accept and direct placement | You |
| Entry or gate procedure at the destination | Some premises control which vehicles and people may enter | Checked directly with the host or estate office |
| Holding fallback | Covers the gap if keys come later than planned | Agreed in the quote before loading |
Receiver authority
Make clear what the receiver can decide. They may be able to direct where furniture goes and sign for delivery. Decisions such as approving extra work, changing the address or accepting damaged items may need to go back to you. Write this down for the coordinator.
Entry checks and sensitive documents
If the destination has controlled entry, check the procedure directly with the host establishment and share only what they ask for, through the channel they specify. Do not post transfer orders, ID numbers or premises details in public reviews, social media or group chats.
Employer reimbursement
Ask your employer, before booking, which documents a relocation claim needs, such as an itemised quote, GST invoice, consignment note or inventory. ALPM provides its GST invoice, consignment documentation and itemised inventory for the move. Whether a claim is approved is your employer's decision, and no mover can certify or guarantee it.
Household Goods and Vehicles: Planning Two Separate Handovers
When a home and a car or bike move together, it helps to think of two handovers rather than one. Separately booked vehicle carriage and household goods can run on different calendars.
Household handover
- Check the carton inventory as items are packed. Sign it only when the numbers match, and keep your copy.
- Pack an essentials bag that travels with you: medicines, chargers, documents, a change of clothes, basic kitchen items and children's things for the first few days.
- Confirm the receiver, the keys and an unloading window at Jammu before loading begins.
- Agree a holding fallback in case the house is not ready when the goods arrive.
Vehicle handover
- Agree a separate pickup and expected handover window for the car or bike, and do not tie it to the household delivery date.
- Photograph the vehicle from all sides and record the odometer reading at handover. Note any existing scratches or dents on the handover document.
- Remove personal belongings and loose accessories. Confirm any FASTag arrangements with the carrier before handover.
- Keep fuel at the level the carrier advises, and share copies of the registration documents the carrier asks for.
- Tell us in advance if the vehicle is electric, does not run, is heavy, premium or modified, or if you want enclosed carriage. All of these are assessed separately.
Receiving the vehicle in Jammu
Inspect the car or bike at handover, in good light if possible, against your earlier photos. Record any new marks on the delivery document before signing, and report them promptly in writing with photos.
Packing Appliances, Valuables, Restricted Items and Office IT
Appliances: follow the manufacturer's guidance
The appliance's own manual is the best guide for preparing it to travel.
- Washing machines: drain, clean and dry the machine. Where your model requires transit locks, fit the correct parts before moving and remove them before use as its manual directs. Ask the manufacturer or service centre for missing parts and correct fitting.
- Refrigerators: defrost if needed, clean and dry before packing, and follow the manufacturer’s transport orientation and restart guidance.
- Air conditioners: uninstalling and reinstalling should be done by an authorised or qualified technician. This is usually separate from moving labour.
- Televisions and monitors: use the original box if you have it. Otherwise ask for screen-safe packing or a crate.
Valuables stay with you
Keep jewellery, cash, important documents, property papers, passports, cheque books, medicines and personal laptops or hard drives with you rather than in the consignment. Even with cover in place, these items are hard to replace and often limited or excluded under transit policies.
Hazardous and restricted items
Do not pack fuel, gas, aerosols, paint thinners, firecrackers, acids or other flammable or corrosive items. For an LPG cylinder, follow your gas distributor's authorised procedure for transfer or surrender rather than sending it with household goods. Arrange appropriate authorised handling for other hazardous or regulated materials before the move.
Office IT and asset custody
- Your IT team should back up data and confirm the backup before equipment is packed. The moving team should not handle data.
- Record serial numbers or asset tags for laptops, desktops, servers, printers and network equipment on the inventory.
- Name one custodian at each end who signs for handover and checks the asset count on arrival.
- Keep licence keys, access cards and sensitive files out of the general consignment, or move them separately as your organisation's policy requires.

GST Invoice, Inventory, E-way Bill and Transit Cover
Documents you should receive
- A written quote showing scope, inclusions, exclusions, mode and dates
- An itemised inventory, checked and signed at packing, with your copy
- A consignment note for the goods
- A GST invoice from AGARWAL LOGISTICS PACKERS AND MOVERS (GSTIN 36FDRPM0957B1ZC), with applicable GST shown
- Cover documents, if you choose transit cover
Do household goods need an e-way bill?
Under the GST e-way bill rules (Rule 138(14) and its annexure), used personal and household effects are generally exempt from the e-way bill requirement. Commercial stock, new goods bought for resale, and business or office assets are a different matter. For those, check the requirement with the operator and your accountant before dispatch so the right documents travel with the consignment.
GST on the move
The GST that applies depends on the service and how it is invoiced. Your quote should state the applicable tax clearly rather than leaving it to be added later.
Transit cover
Review the available cover and select it with the terms understood. Before choosing it, ask:
- Who issues the cover and in whose name it is held
- Whether it is based on a declared value, and how you should declare it
- What is excluded, for example owner-packed cartons, cash, jewellery, pre-existing damage or mechanical faults
- How soon damage must be reported, and what evidence a claim needs
A claim is decided under the policy terms. No mover can promise the outcome.
How to Compare Noida to Jammu Quotes
Two quotes for the same 2 BHK can be far apart simply because they cover different things. Line them up item by item before you compare totals.
- Check the inventory. Is it the same list in both quotes, or is one based on a guess?
- Check the mode. Is it a dedicated vehicle or a shared load, and is the delivery window written down?
- Check packing. What materials and which items are included, and is crating extra?
- Check access. Are lift, stairs, long carry and shuttle costs at both ends included or listed?
- Check the destination. Is the exact Jammu address quoted, or a general city rate that may not cover a district or onward endpoint?
- Check vehicles. Is the car or bike quoted separately, with carrier type and handover window?
- Check tax and cover. Is GST stated? Is cover optional and clearly priced?
- Check unpacking and reassembly. Which items are covered, and is technician work included?
- Check terms. What advance is required, when is the balance due, and how are cancellation, date changes and damage handled?
A quote that is far below the planning bands is not automatically a bargain. Look for what it leaves out. A quote far above them should explain the extra scope.
Why Customers Enquire Directly with ALPM
When you enquire, you speak with a named, registered business rather than a lead-forwarding listing.
- Identifiable business: AGARWAL LOGISTICS PACKERS AND MOVERS, also known as Agarwal (ALPM) Packers and Movers, GSTIN 36FDRPM0957B1ZC, trademark registration 7901417, registered at Old Bowenpally, Secunderabad, Telangana.
- Direct contact: you call +91 94671 86002 and discuss your move with the business itself.
- Itemised planning: quotes are built from your inventory and both addresses, not from a single per-BHK figure.
- Scope in writing: inclusions, exclusions, mode, vehicle arrangement and dates are written into the quote before you commit.
- Practical destination checks: the Jammu address, receiver, keys and unloading window are confirmed before loading, so the planned unloading can match the receiving arrangements.
Booking, Payments, Changes and Damage Reporting
Booking and payment
The quote states the advance needed to hold your date and when the balance is due. Ask for a receipt for every payment and keep it with your consignment documents. Avoid paying the full amount before the inventory has been signed and the goods have been loaded.
Cancellations and date changes
Cancellation and rescheduling terms are set out in writing at booking. Read how much notice is needed and what happens to the advance. If your reporting date or key handover moves, tell the coordinator as early as possible. Holding or a revised dispatch date is far easier to arrange before loading than after.
Changes on the day
Extra items, a new address or added work such as a long carry or technician visit should be agreed and recorded before they happen, so that the final invoice matches what you approved.
If something is damaged
- At unloading, check cartons and furniture against the inventory before signing.
- Photograph any damage straight away, including the packaging, before throwing anything away.
- Note the damage on the delivery document.
- Report it to ALPM promptly in writing, with the photos and the inventory number.
- If you chose transit cover, follow the policy's notification steps and deadlines.
A prompt, documented report gives the strongest basis for resolving the issue under the agreed terms and any cover you hold.
How a Noida to Jammu Move Works with ALPM
- Enquiry: share your move date, Noida pickup address, Jammu delivery address with PIN, home size, and any car or bike.
- Inventory assessment: share your list, photos and access details at both ends; agree whether a video call or visit is needed.
- Written quote: you receive scope, mode, delivery window, inclusions, exclusions, applicable GST and optional cover in writing.
- Booking: you confirm the quote and pay the stated advance against a receipt.
- Preparation: you sort out society permissions, appliance preparation and the essentials bag. The Jammu address, receiver and keys are confirmed.
- Packing and loading: items are packed, the inventory is checked and signed, and the goods are loaded with the consignment note issued.
- Transit: the goods travel by the agreed mode. Ask at booking how and when updates will be given.
- Delivery in Jammu: goods are unloaded and placed in the named rooms, and any agreed reassembly is done.
- Close-out: you check the inventory, note any issues, settle the balance and receive the GST invoice.
